I am getting the most out of my basic, standard membership. There was a start-up fee of $49 and the $10 a month dues limit me to only having access to this location. There is no long-term commitment, however, and I can cancel my membership anytime. I also like the gym culture and etiquette at this location. The staff does a very good job keeping the premises clean and supplies replenished. And whatever they miss, many of the members here will do a courtesy wipe-down with cleaning spray and paper towels after they use the equipment. In a still very politically divisive society, there does not seem to be any judgment here on whether you continue to take precautionary COVID measures and wear a mask or not. I am guessing 1 out of every 4 members here wears a mask. I know this is important to some. I only wish this gym had free-weight benches with barbells and a squat rack. There are plenty of thread mills and elliptical machines, however, as well as several exercise machines that allow you to work on all different body parts. For paying only $10 a month, the pros far outweigh the cons. Pun intended. ;) read more

do not join this gym , I joined years ago and they have taken payments out then after Covid in 2019 my credit card expired which I did not know cause I wasn't going to the gym and just recently for couple years they have been taking out payments which is fine but I found out I owe a large balanice from 2019- 2021 called to see how we can work on catching up and they said I can cancel and then they will continue taking payments from my bank account until it is paid in full which is fine . I cancel online and my daughter canceled hers too . then I see in my bank account a transaction that they took membership fees so I call and they tell me my account is active all the guy says is did you get an email confirmation if not then it's not canceled so I told him but I canceled online like one of your workers told me too . they do not return calls they will not work with you to catch up on payments and it's funny cause i looked how I fell behind for 2 years and it was because my credit card expired but when I looked on my account they had my bank info for automatic payments which after 2 years they started taking payments.. now I know why multiple people told me they had to quit this gym and stop payments because they do not help thier members. read more

Nice gym! I've been a member for over a year, I think. I took a break from the gym over the summer but am slowly starting to go back more regularly. I usually go during the day. Everytime I go, the facility and equipment is clean. The women's bathroom is usually clean also. Same for locker area. The gym is well-ventilated. It is not overly crowded during the time I go there. With the app, you can see the busy and less busy times to go there. You also have access to workouts and more. A filtered water station is provided, which I highly prefer to water fountains. Other members are usually courteous. I like how most if not all gym members take the time to clean the equipment after them. There is a stretching or mat-workout area that can be a little crowded at time. I usually stick with the treadmill, stairs, or elliptical, so can't comment on the other machines/weights/etc. I also like to work out in the mat area. I appreciate the newer mats as the older ones really needed to be replaced! I've never had to wait to use any equipment, but it may be because I try not to go during the busiest times. The staff are usually friendly and always greet you when you arrive to check-in. They used to always say something like "Have a nice day" to every guest leaving the gym, but I've noticed that they've stopped doing that lately. It's too bad because it was a nice touch that made the gym experience more positive. I sometimes accompany a friend to her gym (different company) as her guest, and the people behind the counter never even look at the members as they check-in or leave. The gym is good and clean....not toooo crowded. However multiple times I've gone and paper towel dispensers were empty, and even the soap in the bathroom was out. Turns out the gym ran out of soap completely. Seems mismanaged. That's a serious health hazard, and they just brushed it off when I brought it up. read more

Asked the cooperate lady to please have some one clean up the hair and dust off and around the leg press... worker cam and swept a little bit and complained he did it the other day. He walked away I asked for a towel so I can wipe the machine down properly with spray myself... he said he'll get it later it's ok..and walked away. No dude it's not ok...I'm here with my wife trying to get a good workout and I'm breathing in other peoples hair and dust w every breath.! Your on the clock come do your damn job! I wrote a review 2 yrs ago, about the tanning booths, nothing was done. Till about a month ago, the guy that works nights, actually told someone that the bulbs were burnt out, 3 to 6 in every booth. They were replaced, just the ones that were out, so the next time I went in there, more bulbs out. I mentioned that all the bulbs have to be changed, but never did it. I spoke to the manager one day about 2 wks ago, his attitude was, it is what it is..!!! There still are bulbs out as of yesterday, the guy that works the front desk at night is very awesome and tries to help, Also the beds are dirty, you can't see to clean them out before or after you tan. It should be up to the employees to clean them out after each use, for sanitary reasons . My Point is I'm done with the place, I waste time and money on lotions $50 ++ a bottle. Also You have very low watt bulbs, and can only tan for 9 mins, if you look around low watt booths are about 15/20 mins, the highest watt beds are 10 mins. It needs to be dealt with ASAP read more

Going to the gym can be such a chore for me sometimes! I used to avoid the gym for this reason and because I was nervous about not knowing how to use some of the equipment. Some of the employees here are really helpful and polite which makes me feel motivated and EXCITED to be in the gym! Good job guys! They also have a contactless water-refill station, very clean bathrooms, full length mirrors to get a good look at your progress and more than enough equipment for everyone to share so no waiting to use smith machines (like my previous gym) lol. They have many perks and classes to help you find the right style of gym membership. I must note! There are two girls in particular that REALLY bum me out prior to my workout. I am a stickler for customer service and it really harshes my mellow when they lack enthusiasm when they tell me to have a good work out. At least look at me! Lol. Also noted: this gym has a "lunk alarm" which is an alarm that goes off when you have people powerlifting/dropping weights/grunting. I'm afraid the flashing from this strobe could trigger an epileptic attack, but that is a chance they are willing to take all in the name of shaming someone for power lifts! I gave this gym a 3 due to a horrible experience, I felt like almost yelling at this woman, she was rude she kept asking for an item in place of a piece of equipment to use for the gym like a band or a roller i literally had nothing to give her so I had to give her my AirPods. Then I had a even crappier time not being able to hear my personal gym playlist. I was there from about 930-11:30. Everyone seemed to be disturbed by her behavior but nothing helped. read more

Story time with a 100% (p&t) Disabled Marine Corps Veteran. I have been a black card holder and frequenter of this gym for several years. Recently, within the last year, this gym seems to have come under new management and new employees. First, I have never spoken with gym personal on a personal basis, my goals are to maintain my fitness, not entertain employees. Secondly, if your frequent PF, then you know about the "lug" alarm and the state of the equipment; some of the machines have padding that has been worn down over usage and some machines have bumpers that need to be replaced. I have never had the lug alarm called on me or have ever had employees approach me until today. This morning, as I was finishing my workout, a seated leg press, I was approached by an employee vacuuming, he mentioned to not "drop" the weight, I let him know that a bumper was worn and causing metal on metal contact....now, this was my second set of ten and he did not approach for any noise, as the "lug" alarm had not been triggered and was cleaning the area. In under a minute a second employee came up named Nate. Both stopped my workout to say that they could do the machine without making any noise. I tried to show both of them the contact point and the divots in the metal caused by those contacts, neither of them were interested, so I asked to speak to the manager. As I was walking to the front desk, Nate antagonized me by telling me that he would cancel my membership and to get out of the gym. I said I want to talk to the manager. At the front desk with the manager, a lady named Angie, she was not able to control her employee Nate, as at the front desk, in her presence Nate threatened to beat me up. Angie then sided with her employee, even though he was being antagonizing nor listening to her. She was not interested in my attempt to explain and provide a photo of the contact points on the machine. I asked her if she had heard me slamming any weights or not, to which she responded she was on the phone, but could hear something...Ok, Angie, but was it me? She was unable to say that it was. Mind you this whole time Nate was in the area continuing to antagonize the situation. This whole time the argument escalated to both of them canceling my black card membership. Now, this was not the gym I did my initial contract with, but this is the gym closest to my house and for the last 4 years, my constant gym in the Fresno area. I say the Fresno area, as my main reason for having PF is that I am/was able to use the gyms across America; however, this is no longer the case. After leaving the gym, I called corporate to relay my concerns of a Franchise having the authority to cancel my Black Card membership. I was told that only my home store could do that and as such I began my drive to the PF that I signed my initial contract. In the 30 minutes that it took me to get ahold of corporate, I was greeted by a very polite individual that stated they would relay my concerns. I was told that I should receive a call in 3-5 days to address my concerns. About 20 minutes after my conversation with the help line, I arrived at the "home" gym and was informed that my membership was in fact cancelled. I have never had an infraction with PF and have been a Black Card member for almost half a decade. I have used PF gyms across the United States and out of every gym, Golds, GB3, Crunch and even military installation gyms, I can say that this was the worst I have ever seen customer service individuals act. I can not refer to them as customer service professional, because nothing about this situation was professional. Beyond that, a Franchise was able to cancel a Black Card membership of an individual not within her store. How about my "home" gym, I can't say anything there, as I haven't been to that gym in years. I did ask that manager who approved my cancelation and I was told that it was Nate Garcia, a district manager. For all of today and how unprofessional the staff was and how long-term member can be cancelled without recourse...PF at this location is turning to garbage and maybe the Fresno area in general......perhaps, it's time to seek new gyms people. I had to leave this gym. Not by choice. One afternoon I went in and they told me that I could no longer workout unless I signed a new contract. Apparently I hadn't paid the new yearly fee but they still charged my monthly fee as well as let me continue to go for months. So I said screw it I'll go to another local gym. Employee that assisted me was Rico showed great customer service smiled all the time I acknowledge him greeting customers, and being very humble to others each time I had asked for tokens for the massage chair. Which each time I asked, he acknowledged nobody else was asking for a token so he continue to assist me by giving me two tokens despite the fact that I've asked him three different times. Previous employee's gave me awkward looks for asking multiple times for tokens despite the fact that nobody else was using or asking for the chairs throughout the whole time I was there which That made me feel a bit uncomfortable for asking despite of the fact that I really needed to use it. My biggest pet peeve is a dirty gym and this visit gave a pretty bad impression. Came in and the men's locker room was highway rest stop status; disgusting. The toilets were covered in urine and there was no toilet paper. I told one of the male employees; he was wearing the gray zip up so I think he might be some level of supervisor / manager. For the next five / ten minutes he decided to stand behind the counter with three other employees having a good time laughing. Little more time passed and him and the other male employee started going around the gym refreshing the cleaning stations. I assumed the restroom was handled; it wasn't.... It was now 25 minutes after I told this employee the toilets were foul and he didn't bother addressing it. For the locker room to have been that dirty and out of stock, that means it hadn't been checked in a couple hours. That's unacceptable for such a high capacity / patronage gym. For an employee to have the attitude of "yeah, yeah, I'll get to it when I feel like it" when the toilets are literally unusable, that should require a coaching session from management. For a male employee to finally replace the toilet paper, but ignore the toilet soaked with bright yellow urine, unacceptable. For the gym to have four staff members on duty standing behind the counter, and the locker room to have been that dirty, this wasn't a one-off incident where they were shorthand and overwhelmed. This filth is the standard and the club needs to do much better. I really hope things turn around and cleaning becomes a bigger priority. read more

I am a "black card" member and I'm getting really tired of coming in Monday -Friday to do my workouts and hoping to get a massage in at the end only to find they are ALWAYS BROKEN!!!!!!!!!! It's extremely frustrating as a member that PAYS EXTRA to have these amenities UNAVAILABLE ALL THE TIME! I've spoken with staff about this and told they have to wait for a specific maintenance person to come fix the problems. Employees always act like I'm bothering them and every single time I scan to enter they never greet me but instead talk to each other. I know most of the employees are teenagers/college students and this is probably their first job but it's not hard to say hello. I am so angry with this facility on Shaw and Clovis. I have been in several other planet fitness gyms, in other states, and those planet fitness gyms are so nice. A lot of equipment, nothing is broken, it's clean, and I have a better experience. I understand that each Planet Fitness area it's owned by a different person. It's not the same corporation run throughout the whole United States. So the issue with our gym in our area is the person running it. And that corporation person running it, is doing a shitty job. The equipment is ALWAYS broken, pads torn, hardly any equipment in the room, and not enough equipment to go around. It is a ghetto looking place and I'm disgusted with it. The only reason I go is because it's close to my house. With the amount of people and memberships, they get, they should be able to add more equipment, fix things that are broken, and have a decent gym for people to come work out in. Come on Clovis make your gym a better gym for people to come workout in and quit pissing us all off. That Lunk alarm needs to be pulled on all of you at corporate. read more

If you read my review for even a second you would know that the club had nothing to offer to help me resolve the issue. Once again even further disappointed by this corporation. After being a member of a local "club" for the last 15 years I decided to change, the gym theatrics at this other place were out of control. More people concerned latley about gym fashion, filming and trying to be someone versus actually working out. The Staff doesn't even enforce the rules at that club... Could care less about the stigma of PF, I just want to be in and out without the chaos. So far in the first month Im decently satisfied, never an issue to get tread mill and the wait for the machines is almost non existent. MY ONLY complaint is that the desk people are inconsistent about the tokens for the massage chair, most of the staff give you two... but there is one girl who makes a issue about it like it is actually money and it is coming out of her check, she says "here is one, if you want another one you need to come back to the front".... who gets a massage for 5 minutes. Anyways, I just stopped asking her... she seems a bit upset to be at work making money. Gym is clean, looks nice and locker rooms and bathrooms are well maintained, far better than the last gym I was at. read more

Music is way too loud. If my ear pods are on full blast and I can hear the gyms music. It's too loud! The cleaning spray smells like cat pee. It's gross. The employees are not helpful. I have "had" a billing problem with my account and no one could help me. I asked 3 times. I updated my bank info on the app. That didn't help, I find it odd because my debit card was charged. The next day I got a call from the 1800 number from ABC accounting needing my bank info. If your app isn't working that isn't my problem. At this point it's harassment! When I signed up for my membership I added my debt card info and my bank account. Nothing has changed. Not sure why I keep getting calls and emails regarding my account even tho I'm still seeing charges on my bank account! Fix it. read more

Posting this for my husband who just got back from a workout this morning. He's very frustrated with the lack of care by employees. Majority of the bikes were out of order today. 2 people reported it to the desk and were told they were aware and acted like they were annoyed to be told again. They finally put out of service signs on them. He understands that issues arise sometimes but the attitude of the employees is unacceptable. Whatever happened to courteous customer service? Planet Fitness gets a bad rep in general but I don't mind it at all. It's a gym and has all the necessary equipment I need to get my pump on. It's clean; hardly That busy (compared to nearby gyms) and the entire staff is so friendly. This gym helps stray away all the lame guys trying to get attention while screaming out loud while lifting no weight, thank you Planet Fitness!! I do wish that there were more lying leg press machines or Mtn V squat machine, heavier barbels, a dual cable delt machine and a hip thrust machine but that's just me and my wish list. The gym/equipment is nice on the inside. I'm slightly surprised they play Hannity and Tucker Carlson and kind of brash guys like that, but then again it's borderline North Clovis sooo what can you expect. Honestly really liked it there, but they made it so hard for me to end my membership, it's so ridiculous. I moved out of town and they made it as inconvenient as possible to cancel. Even the manger acknowledged that this is a common complaint. I love this planet fitness location. It's the best one in the Central Valley. The staff is friendly and welcoming. It's 24 hours every day so I am able to go in the mornings or late nights after work. The night staff mark and alex are especially welcoming and helpful in assisting me in any questions or troubles I may have. Their trainer Orlando is always ready to assist club members in achieving theIr health and fitness goals with a energetic attitude. The manager Walter always listens when I have a question or need help with something. Overall this location has a great atmosphere and is the ultimate judgement free zone. Everyone is welcome no matter shape or size from beginner to advanced. There is something for everyone. I recommend this Planet Fitness location in Clovis over all other ones. read more

They have a lot of classes, and even though the parking lot seems full.. it doesn't look full in the gym.. because it is so big! Everyone is always pleasant at the desk as well. read more
