It was mad hot at first and then made me just an iced charcoal latte and would not make it correctly. Just irritated that I couldn't get want I wanted after I showed her the picture. If this was posted last Saturday would have definitely been a 5 review, but today my husband got the crappy-no-latte-art-hoping-we-won't-notice-because-we-took-it-to-go-latte. Such a HUGE bummer. Every latte matters Crux, especially as I have to reprogram my ordering sizes from the Starbucks lingo. And I was the only person ordering so they had time on their hands to do it right. The beans however are legit- smooth and strong latte flavor made all the better when your barista makes it special. Food options we haven't tried yet, but I didn't see anything that made me want to break my low sugar commitment. Honestly if I could give them 3.5 stars I would. This coffee shop was super modern and had a very relaxed, yet structured feel. The interior was beautiful and it was super clean! There was plenty of tables and space, not to mention the giant coffee bean grinder (can you say show of power)? Appearance wise this place was amazing (only reason for the 3.5 honestly). The staff was super nice, the man who took my order was able to answer all my questions, and provide suggestions based on what I said I liked. I ended up ordering a iced caramel latte and 3 white chocolate macarons. However, my iced latte tasted like an iced latte, no caramel. I love coffee but the coffee was so powerful I couldn't tase the flavor. That being said i still enjoyed my drink. The macarons were just as disappointing. I will literally get macarons anytime I come across them and these did not taste even the slightest bit like white chocolate. They were not bad at all! They just tasted like vanilla (and barely even that). This is also a place where you can't bring your own cup which most of my friends like to do to reduce waste. I had a good experience here but I probably wouldn't venture back due to the lack of flavor in my food and drink. read more

Even their more obscure varieties don't quite seem rich in flavor but rather a bit on the bitter side. Certainly the only place I have ever been to with nitro cold brew that is carbonated? Odd. Their greatest asset is a helpful and generally welcoming staff. Also, there's plenty of seating both inside and outside of the shop. There are some food options like your typical pastries, muffins, bagels, croissants and the like. Açaí bowls are also available and they're pretty good! Bonus Overall, Crux gets the job done. Nice ambiance inside with roasting machines on prominent display and theres a big patio outside. However, the coffee just wasn't that good. Not sure if it's a bad day or bad batch in the toaster. My wife's cup of Tanzanian peaberry tasted really burnt. I had a cup of Ethiopian that was also burnt and tasted watered down - like not the right ratio of grounds to water. We both got breakfast sandwiches. I liked mine, wife did not. For what it's worth, they also had a sign on the door that 'masks are not required' with 'not' in bright red letters. Anyway, pretty disappointing for a $4.75 cup of coffee, but glad I gave it a try. read more

The only negative was a bit too much sugar - especially as I was trying to wash down an apple danish. Speaking of, the danish was solid but obviously made at a central bakery (this seems to be the norm even in small local coffee shops). The decor was somewhat generic and a bit too sterile for my tastes - Starbucks style. The staff was super friendly and the space was big enough to settle in for a quiet comfortable few hours of work.
