These people are thiefs. I took my bottles and questioned the amount as it was $19 for 15 bags. They then went through the bottles pouring every drop of liquid out. And it weighted 4 lbs more than the first time. This is completely unacceptable and I will never come back. As someone who previously managed their family's small business and tried to accommodate any and all customers, when I see a place like this close their doors and completely lock up the place prior to their closing time, I feel extremely insulted. Not to mention, I was not treated too kindly, as if it was a nuisance I was there in the first place. It is a common thing for recycling places to stop taking clients 10-15 minutes prior to closing. That is understandable. But as a recycling place inside of a store front, what I don't find acceptable is to close up shop 10 minutes prior to closing, turn off the lights, and pretend nobody is inside, in order to avoid communicating with any customers waiting outside. When he did speak to me, I asked what time I actually would need to show up if I wanted to receive any sort of customer service. He told me I would need to show up at 6:00 pm, even though I had one bag of recycling pre-separated. In the spirit of customer service, if your store closes at 6:30 pm, please note online, as well as on a sign on your door by your hours of operation stating that you must arrive 30 minutes prior to closing time if you expect to be able to turn in your cans, let alone, have any expectations to be treated like a human being with respect. read more

I collect bottles and cans for extra money since I've practically been unemployed since being laid off when COVID hit back in May 2020. Every time I've been there, even with my boyfriend helping, the young men who work there are very nice and helpful! Even if there's two of us (my boyfriend and I) separating bottles and cans into baskets, the workers help us too, especially when we have more than 3 trash bags full! Although, sometimes I wish we got paid a little more or I was expecting to get paid like $30 instead of $24 for example but that's on us for getting the estimate of the total weight of all the bottles and cans we brought in. But very good service and nice employees! I highly recommend coming here to recycle! read more

I come here approximately once every other month. I have recycling centers closer to home but I make an effort to go to this location because it's so convenient, staff is friendly, owners are helpful and just overall a great experience! The location is a decent size and they have lots of bins so you are never waiting. Employees help you sort and/or transfer to bins if they are available. What more can you ask for?! read more

My boyfriend found this place, what a great recycle center! Its inside which is nice, and the staff is super helpful in helping you sort your bottles out to be weighed. On 11/20/21 I brought a large bag of cans and another bag in my right hand and 4 or 5 small grocery sized bags of cans in my left. The employee immediately grabbed the large bag and I told him to release the bag. He just continued to hold it until I relented, then grabbed other ones while I undid 2 that were joined together. When he took the first bag I told him to save the bags, and he threw all of them wherever onto the floor. The last one I watched as he violently threw it down, carried the store's filled container to the scale then held out my payment. I called to the main number (805) 404-7221 to complain to the owner or manager and got voicemail on 2 different attempts. It is now 11/30/21; 10 days no return call. Apparently, they approve of this behavior from their employees. Be careful ... that employee is far too aggressive to be working the front counter. I've put up with ear shattering music and water saturated floors on prior visits ... but this is my last time here. Dangerous. read more

After more than a year of hoarding bottles, cans etc., finally decided to clean the garage and that meant unloading this mound that had piled up on the side. After reviewing multiple places on Yelp, this seemed like the best option. It's a little shop in a small plaza. Got there with the wife and when we got there, there was already two groups ahead of us and then three more groups would show up after us. So clearly this place is very popular and I can see why. They moved very quickly and gave us more $ than I expected. The place smells like beer but that's completely understandable. The one thing I noticed is that it is right next to a massage place. For their sake I hope they have really good noise canceling walls because this recycling center is obviously very loud. Can't imagine trying to get a massage and having to hear the clanking or bottles during haha. Anyhow I recommend. Will be back again once Mt. Recyclo rebuilds itself in my garage. read more

All I can say is this place is amazing!! First of all it's indoors, which means no waiting out in the hot sun or in super long lines.. these guys will help you get all of your bags of recyclables (CRV only) bottles, cans, glass out of your car. They are all super helpful and boy are they ever fast! All of the stuff I had, I don't even remember how many bags came out to $45. 91 in cash! A great donation to go to a great cause, UCAAN. ;-) I'm coming here more often than not. if you're looking for a great recycling place this is definitely the spot it's on E Los Angeles Avenue before Rory Lane and after Stow. Count your change!!! I love the CRV store but today I went and dropped off some recycling. The total cash back was $22.24. I was walking out thinking why didn't he just give me a $20 and two ones II looked at the bills and saw he gave me three $5s and two ones. I turned around and asked him how much was the recycling. I showed him the receipt and held out my hand. Without a word he gave me the missing $5. Nice try. BTW in the olden days the guys helped you load the bins with your recycling. I never had to dump anything in the bins since they were so efficient. Today they all just sat around as customers loaded their own recycling bins while they just sat there and watched. I used to leave a healthy tip (40 to 50%) because their work ethic really impressed me. I always remember the words of MLK Jr. that regardless of what your job is, be the best you can be at it. Maybe these guys are waiting for the minimum wage to be increased to $25 and hour. Or maybe that's the best they can be. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I have gone to this place before. While not the friendliest staff, they were OK in the past. Today, however, I had a really crappy experience here. I brought in six large bags full of bottles, and one of clean non-bottle type 1 and 5 plastics. Their sign states that they take non-CRV stuff, but at a significantly reduced rate, which I'm OK with, as I figure the stuff actually has a fair chance of actually being recycled. They have accepted these types of plastic several times before. However, today, the guy who appeared to be the manager had a really nasty, crappy attitude - pushed the non-bottle plastics back at me and, in a loud obnoxious voice, said, "this is trash. I don't want it here. Take it back!" I pointed out what the sign said - that they have the option of offering a lower rate - and he said, "I don't care - take it out of here!" - in a very condescending way. I will never go to this place again. This guy should be fired for being such an @$$ to customers. Maybe he doesn't want the business. read more

Putting off doing the recycling for a year and having 25+ bags of it was daunting. I continued to put it off because of the time required to do it! I finally couldn't stand it any longer and decided to just jump in and get it done!! After receiving many recommendations to go to CRV Only, I made my first trip. I was completely shocked how helpful the guys were and how quickly THEY separated all of the glass, cans and plastic. I did NONE of it!! I completed recycling ALL OF THE 23+ BAGS that day and was paid out $121.00!! I can honestly say it was hands down the best recycling place I've ever been to!! This place is great. post. you do need to sort into types. There was another guy there behind me who had not sorted and one of the employees really nicely offered to help sort, but there really just isn't a lot of room and stuff, so yes... sort first, as they weigh it. It was worth it though. I often just drag my bags down and shove them in the machines at Ralph's, and a trunk full is like $7 bucks, which always felt like a rip off and it takes so much time (of course, no sorting though), but today, I got $13 for a trunk full (compact car). That will give you some idea of what they pay. In comparison to the other local recycling center, this place is so incredibly much nicer. read more

Having a less-than-adequate back, I asked the Asian gentleman if I could borrow a dolly to bring in a large barrel of glass bottles. He looked at me with an expression of kindness and asked if he could carry it for me. I accepted his gracious offer and he immediately went out to my truck, lifted the 32-gallon barrel and brought it in. Why so many idiots are down on Asians is bewildering. I suppose that with the tide turning away from abuse toward those with a modicum more of melanin, our former president has convinced those who are incapable of determining who is good and who is not by "who" they are into hating and abusing people for "what" they are or where there ancestors once lived. I've recycled with this outfit on several occasions, and regardless of the origin of those employed there, the service is well above what one should anticipate. read more

The guys here were so nice, and we had no wait, walked right in they took the bags dumped and separated and about 10 minutes later we were out. The guy even said they pay more per pound here, so that was nice. He made it and even 18.00 which was nice too! The dudes inside helped sort my large amount of glass, cans, and bottles. While helping to sort my recyclables, the main guy that handles the weights assisted four other customers with less cans and bottles than myself. He was apologetic to me for helping them, and apologetic to me for stopping to help the other customer. The employees inside are all around a class act. I read in other yelp reviews that it smelled in their wherehouse... it's a recycling center!? It smelled just fine. They had the doors propped open on an 80 degree day and I had no issues and felt comfortable. The best part about 3R recycling, is that they paid a lot more per pound than Simi Valley recycling center (that used to be on Easy street used to pay.) The place isn't very big but the staff is very efficient.i have never had to deal with along wait and it really seems that every body is working hard here.i think it helps to bring your materials already separated.its really nice to have agood recycling center here in Simi I hope it stays open for along time unlike some of the other ones that have all closed in the city I will surely come back. read more
