I arrived at the landfill yesterday morning, where I paid $38 to drop off exercise machine. The…read moreguy who I paid reassured me that there would be traffic directors who would guide me to the proper self drop off area as I only had my car and I do not own a commercial vehicle. On the mile drive on the bumpy dirt road with multiple routes, there were no traffic directors to be seen and only relied on the semi truck in front of me. I arrived in an area where the commercial vehicles were and I had no idea where to go. I got out and was getting ready to dump my machine when a garbage disposal worker asked me what I was doing and was kind, respectful, and helpful. He guided me to the right place and told me where I was at was a major safety hazard for myself. On my way to the designated drop off area, I finally saw a traffic director, and he was polite and confirmed where the designated drop off area was. I almost got lost on my way out, but I figured it out. There seriously needs to be more traffic directors at the designated checkpoint towers to avoid confusion and to maintain the safety of everybody. I'm disappointed.

Told emphatically not to put concrete in this dumpster after being told 3 times that I was getting the correct dumpster, I spent an additional $1200 to have the concrete hauled away that I could have put in the dumpster already in my driveway!! Now I'm being charged another $109 for going over the one ton that I had already paid for. I am furious! DO NOT use Waste Management, pay what appears to be more for a private service but is actually much less expensive. As an added note: I called to see what they could do about it and was told the "salesperson" would get back to me the next morning. Nope!!! No return call. Not only are they incompetent but they don't care that they are. The drivers, by the way, are fabulous! They should work for a company that knows what it's doing.

At Santa Paula Recycling, I've found them to be well organized usually friendly. They are often quite helpful by providing me with assistance unloading my car and placing the bottles and cans into their wire receptacles for weighing. The place is on a large dirt lot and there is plenty of space for cars, but there is no traditional parking lot.

They are efficient and friendly. I think the amount they pay for aluminum, plastic and glass here are the best in the area. I'm not sure if the do other recycling materials (i.e. copper, scrap metal) because I don't need those services. But if they do, I'm sure you'd get the best prices on those too. They also have a bathroom available to customers for hand washing after you drop your recycling.
