When calling for information, I'm often met with vague responses or no answers at all. I stopped by the office and left a message for the office manager regarding paperwork submitted over a month ago. She never called back, and when I called back, I was informed that she will not be back until the end of May leaving me with no answers. The office was dismissive with a no care attitude, and I had asked for someone to return my call, I got nothing. After calling multiple times and getting attitude by the office and retaliating back they blame the patient. Dr. Raso doesn't care about the patient and will back his office even when they are wrong. Do yourself a favor and find another doctor!

They tell patients he's not in, not available, don't call back, and dismiss it when patients have questions about medication he has prescribed or need to report serious reactions to it -- they literally told my son-in-law that "nobody has ever had a problem" with a medication. It is not the job of the staff to make medical judgments!!! People contact the doctor because they need help, not so some little know-it-all behind the desk can play god.

Atlantic Coast Gastro called yesterday saying they didn't have my info and I HAD TO SUBMIT IT TODAY or my colonoscopy would be cancelled. Their emails only had a link to Allied Digestive Health patient portal. My info was all there. Called Atlantic Coast Gastro back to get this cleared up. Got voicemail. Called 4 times over the next few hours, left 4 messages (dialed a few different phone #s). Asked for a call back since ASAP they're threatening to cancel my proceedure. NO CALL BACK. Left work 1 1/2 hrs early to get to the Jackson office before they close at 4. Got there at 3:30 - office is closed (Hours of operation not updated online). Drove to the Brick office and filled out a form with everything already on the patient portal. I was literally shaking with anger, I'd been anxiously trying to get this cleared up for HOURS. Maybe whoever called me from Atlantic Coast Gastro didn't know how to access Allied Digestive patient portal? First day on the job? God knows. LITERALLY GOT A CALL BACK AS I WAS TYPING THIS - because i left a long angry voicemail this morning. Still livid at yesterday's experience, will have to reconsider using this office for next proceedure.

I can never get through to the office by phone, and when I leave messages, they're rarely returned…read more Wait times in the office are excessive, and it's very difficult to secure an appointment, especially when something urgent comes up. The staff and providers are not proactive; I have to follow up through the portal just to be sent for routine bloodwork, and ongoing monitoring isn't done unless I reach out myself, even though I'm on a biologic that requires regular checks every few months. I've been a patient here for over 20 years, but after my recent experience with a stool sample, I'm seriously considering switching providers. I completed a home stool test that was picked up by FedEx and sent to Allied Digestive Health's lab. After waiting nearly two weeks, and making multiple calls and portal messages, I was finally told today that the sample couldn't be processed, which seems like it was lost. No one has acknowledged the time this has cost me or the fact that I'm still not feeling well. Based on this experience, I would strongly recommend looking into a more reliable and responsive gastroenterology practice.

UPDATE: 4 weeks…read moreafter seeing Dr. Brian P. Wolfman with a specific concern about a gallbladder issue, my symptoms have been steadily worsening and I was finally able to see a surgeon for a consultation and I DO NEED MY GALLBLADDER REMOVED.  Dr. Wolfman gave me a rude and dismissive 7 minute appointment where he denied my issue (incompetently) and talked down to me throughout.  He also refused to discuss my other long standing G.I. issues (need for a colonoscopy, colon cancer history with my grandmother, etc). Dr. Wolfman was not only completely incompetent and abundantly rude during his SHORT UNDER 10 minute appointment, but he missed a major health issue that I had specifically asked him about.  He made no effort to do any kind of physical examination.   He talked down to me, he was rude.  He said, "I treat patients, not ultrasounds" when I asked about the sludge condition shown on the ultrasound.  He's right... he does treat patients... terribly.  He treats them HORRIBLY. I need surgery now for the issue HE MISSED AND WAS DISMISSIVE ABOUT -- I'm lucky I decided to go to a surgeon and that my general doctor had given me a referral because Dr. Wolfman certainly did not! This was not my only negative experience at Coastal Gastroenterology Associates.   I had previously seen Dr. Jain, who COULDN'T EVEN FIND A HERNIA (which was previously already diagnosed) and which required surgery only weeks later.  He also only gave me 10 minutes only and REFUSED to discuss any of my long term G.I. issues until he could do a colonoscopy... which he WANTED TO DO WHILE I STILL WAS SUFFERING FROM MY SERIOUS HERNIA and I had to cancel due to the hernia surgery. The third issue with this place is the office manager.  If you have any issue with a doctor or appointment, you can be sure that the office manager will BLAME YOU and then REFUSE TO REPOND TO ANY FURTHER EMAILS TO THE OFFICE. After reaching out with my concerns, she left me a voicemail (only because she saw a negative facebook review) and said I was misunderstood.  I very kindly and professionally requested information, directed to her,  from the office in regard to the the Hackensack Meridian Health network about where I can send feedback and/or file a complaint with the doctor.  I sent a friendly follow up as well.  After 4 weeks, she has yet to provide me this information or even respond.  If you value your health, DO NOT VISIT THIS PRACTICE.  If you want to see an incompetent gastroenterologist, be talked down to, not be believed, and be spoken to rudely, by all means see Dr. Wolfman. If you want to have confidence in your visit and the doctor's recommendations, and not end up in surgery 4 weeks later because they missed a major issue (as happened to me twice), DO NOT VISIT COASTAL GASTOENTEROLOGISTS.   Do yourself a favor and avoid this practice like the plague.   Coastal Gastroenterologists does not deserve to be under the Hackensack Meridian Health name.  It also doesn't matter which location you go to... I visited two separate ones and this kind of incompetency and rudeness is abundant throughout the whole practice and even extends to the office manager.

We pulled up to the entrance and somebody was right there to valet our car, I was directed to the lab area, and had all my tests done, it was so easy. I met a nurse there I believe her name was Liz and she was so friendly and comforting.
