The good news: Great atmosphere. Everything smoked on site, saw the big stack of wood. Good seasoning, not terribly expensive. The meh news: I tried the brisket ends and some of a rib. Both very fatty. Yeh, I know it's bbq but it was so so fatty I couldn't eat much. I've had plenty of bbq that was not fatty, so this was unusual. Friend though ribs were fantastic. The brisket mac and cheese--although not always on the menu, which they serve occasionally from Friday through Sunday--easily surpasses any other macaroni and cheese I've ever tasted. The burnt ends are another top choice. I'm not a fan of anything burnt or overly charred, but that's not the case here. I also highly enjoy the brisket sandwich and the Parmesan potato salad; they are some of my favorites. It's a bit messy, but absolutely worth it! The staff is always friendly and helpful. This place is great we got 1lb of brisket with a pull pork sandwich some ribs and a couple of sides. Everything tasted amazing we even got their new dessert the cinnamon bread pudding. The line moves very slow to eat here because the workers move slow. If the workers would've been more diligent the line would be a lot faster. The bill came out to be around $90. It's cheaper do you pay cash as well. The place is all outdoor seating but there was little to non bugs. There is large and small tables and they are in the shade. At long last, I finally got to try the mighty Crydermans Barbecue in Cocoa Village. The experience was, surprisingly, a mixed bag for me... I have on occasion over the years, with a hankering for barbecue, made my way to Cocoa Village and tried to stop in and try this place. All those times, I came up short. As they state, they are open until a certain time or when the food runs out, and mostly it's considerably earlier than when they close. But on this day, I got lucky. We arrived here at the request of our birthday girl - a very close friend of the family - and not only found the place open, but with a very small line to order from... Let me just say that the food is simply exceptional - we all had their main offerings - brisket, ribs, pork, Cole slaw, collard greens, mac-n-cheese, and so on. The servings are big and the flavor is truly something to experience. The guys working behind the counter are truly artisans and it shows in the food. Now, the place itself is a bit wonky. There is only outdoor seating, and the manner in which you come into the indoor area where the food is served is even wonkier. An entrance that is literally in the way, everyone's way, and you better keep an eye out for it. This experience left me with two thoughts - only eat here during the "cooler" FL months or just make it take out. Still the best barbecue in Brevard, my beef brisket sandwich was delicious and the Hawaiian ice tea is to die. The not so good was the chili which resembled and tasted like the cheap stuff you would put on a hot dog. The potato salad was mushy and very bland. It's counter service, just like when I'm in Texas, so you know it's legit! The outdoor area it's perfect. Makes the whole experience. Everything about Crydermans is top notch! From their great, friendly service, to their scratch made foods and smoked meats. Even the side dishes and desserts are one of a kind. Parking is super easy, parking lot is right across the street and there is plenty of outdoor/under cover seating. Bathroom clean and stocked, as well as the common area is clean and stocked. Quick version: I was absolutely blown away by the food and the staff. 5/5 Visited here for dinner on a Wednesday around 5:30 and managed to get in before the larger dinner rush that followed us. The manager and the two other staff members were friendly and they seemed very supportive of each other as they managed the growing queue of hungry guests. The outdoor patio was very spacious with good lighting, clean tables, a cool mural, and a fully stocked sauce/utensil station. The food was SPECTACULAR. I have never had better ribs in my life. The rest of the platter (which was such a good value for the money) did not disappoint, everything was top tier. The baked beans were smokey and had way more meat than expected but had the perfect balance. The meal came with some really good potato bread and some of the best pickles I've had in a while. Ordered a meat combo: sausage, rib, and pulled pork. Just like your everyday BBQ joint. Co workers were raving about this place but I was not impressed. It was rather over hyped and overrated. The price of a combo meal is expensive for the portions received. I payed $30 plus for a combo. I felt like I got ripped off from my purchase. Establishment is tight on their meats. I received a small pork rib and it was not worth its value. I believe I will not come back just because it is over priced. You are better off going to Lucilles or Tony Romas for that price. We came back from our cruise today and had time before our flight tonight, so we visited Crydermans based on a local friend's high praise and the excellent reviews here. Also, my friend loves bbq so we had to stop by here. When we asked for recommendations, the lady suggested the pulled pork, turkey, and brisket for our combo platter. I honestly don't like turkey at all, but we decided to try it, along with sides of collard greens and pork, and mac and cheese. We also got an order of 4 baby back rib bones. The turkey breast was surprisingly the most tender I've ever had. My friend commented that it tasted slightly overcooked since the texture was a tad mushy, which I agreed with. The standouts were the baby back ribs and pulled pork. At other places I've been to, pulled pork tends to be soft and mushy, and drenched in sauce--but this one was just the right texture, and sauces for everything are provided as self-serve options. The collard greens were excellent while the mac and cheese lacked that memorable factor. Three sauces are offered, a sweet one, a spicy one, and a mustard based one. I couldn't really taste the difference between the sweet and spicy ones, so perhaps more heat in the spicy one would elevate it. Service was on point and everyone was extremely helpful. There are tables outside, with some under shade and others under the sun. It was a bit chilly so the food cooled down quickly but it tasted delicious nonetheless. The Mac and cheese is good not great. This was the worst brisket we have ever had here and it was still better than any other brisket I had all year. All of the meats are top notch. I'm from Miami, and we were in Vero beach, and we were told that Crydermans is the BEST BBQ in Florida. And I can tell you and confirm, that it didn't disappoint. We got there at 11:45, perfect time as we didn't have to wait, by 12:15, the line was 17-20 people deep. The employees were amazing, very patient explaining why the 2 platters would be better for 10, and it was, we even had left overs to take home. Plenty of food for all to have, including the sides. The brisket was phenomenal, the pork was amazing, the sausage and the ribs were delicious. Everything was truly was great. The seating area was nice, huge fan kept everything nice and cool, and the music selection was really good, we Shazammed a couple jams. While I did not try the barbecue part, I did visit their meat department and was impressed. I ended up just picking up a package of their all-beef hot dogs and enjoyed them. They were a bit expensive at about nine dollars a pound, but you should expect to pay more for quality. The staff here was pleasant and professional. The place had an overall positive ambiance, but parking is extremely limited. All in all, I would definitely recommend coming to check out their meat market. The couple who owns Charlies and Jakes have major addiction issues and I assume once they get out of rehab in South Florida, they'll get back on track. In any event, I think eating out is a rip off pretty much everywhere due to inflation. Go to Publix and get the cooked ribs in sauce and put them in the over. I had the 3 brisket confit tacos and a chocolate chip walnut BigAss cookie, and hubby chose the pastrami sandwich ( it was on the board as a special for today) and some fatty brisket.
