I asked Vanessa for a two-egg breakfast with chopped steak, eggs over medium, hash browns, and the Southern breakfast staple of a biscuit with sausage gravy. The place was pretty barren, as you can see by the pictures; I assume it's the location. As such, my food was out in no time. Look at the pictures. Look at them! If a picture could talk, this one would be saying, "Flavor, flavor, flavor." The chopped steak is made to order and gigantic in size. The seasonings are complex and full of tastiness on the palate. The toast is aptly buttered and blissful with the egg yolk. The line cook nailed the over-medium eggs this morning, as they were perfect. Well done, Sir and/or Madam! It was all I could do to stop eating the chopped steak and eggs as they were that good, but I was here for a job. Looking again at the pictures, you can see how laden with sausage that gravy is. The gravy was outstanding. I would put that up against anyone's Me-maw and let the chips fall where they may. While the gravy was top-notch, the biscuit was not so much. I tried Dixon Diner on recommendation of a friend. From the outside it doesn't look like much at all. The diner qualifies as a dive, small and looking run down. This is a place with simple food with a limited menu. Very reasonable prices here. The service was prompt and attentive. I tried one of the lunch specials. Smothered pork chop with 2 sides, $11.95. This was simple southern comfort food like your great grandmother cooked. It was a very tender chop smothered in a rich brown gravy with a large thick slice of perfectly cooked onion on top. I choose rice and a side salad as my sides. The salad was crisp with green peppers tomatoes and cucumbers. My friend got the sloppy Joe plate with fries. $10.95, 4 slices of thick crispy toasted bread with a very large serving of tomatoey goodness and crispy perfectly cooked fries. Ain't nothing better than being hung over on a Saturday morning and craving carbs to soak up the booze. Not this Saturday. I found myself up early with the birds hungry for worms so i headed over to Dixon diner were they have never let me down yet! It was packed(usually every Sat and sun morning) so i got bfast to go. With a kitchen as small as one in a studio apartment, they somehow manage to get the food out on time and hot! My fav is the bfast bowl or pretty much anything with a side of Hunters potatoes. Most places will offer to replace it free at a future date, no the cashier said i had to bring order all the way back then wait another 20mins for replacement, even offered to send in pictures of burnt corn beef hash. Came here on a Saturday afternoon. This is definitely a hole in the wall. I meant in the middle of the parking lot because that's where this small diner is located. I grew up here and I've never taken the time to stop in for anything. Just the day before I was asking the guys in the barbershop where are the good burger places in the area (just in case I overlooked a few places) and a few ppl mentioned this place. But anyway, this place has a small country diner feel to it. The staff was friendly. I was immediately greeted by the young lady behind the counter when I walked through the door. Saw the bacon cheeseburger on the menu, put in my order to go, and it was cooked right in front of me. Also, came with a side of non-wrinkle fries with a smooth touch of seasoning. Can't beat it for $8. This may not be a gourmet hamburger with the bakery bun, different unique toppings, etc... but it was a good old fashioned handmade hamburger. The taste of the meat was a little bland for me. Perhaps seasoning the burger with some sea salt and other seasonings, along with a fresh bakery bun. The meat may have been ground chuck 85/15 because it wasn't as greasy as 80/20. A few minor changes as I mentioned would easily bring this burger to 4 stars. However, I would give it 3.5 stars. But 4 stars overall because the prices are affordable, nice staff, and this place has having that old school country diner feel. read more

I stumbled upon this place while doing laundry. I looked across the parking lot from the laundromat and saw 4 cop cars in the parking lot outside a small building with a sign that says Dixon Diner. The building isn't much to look at, and kind of small. Hard to tell it's s restaurant at all. (But like they say, it's what's on the inside that counts.) I know cops and cops only eat at the really good cheap places, never lousy cheap places, so I went in and was greeted warmly by a beautiful, friendly young lady (server) and I was seated I've now eaten here 3 times, 3 days in a row and it just gets better each time, breakfast all 3 times, and I have to say the food is excellent, today was the chicken fried steak and eggs, best I ever had!!! the staff is friendly and attentive. I was visiting the area recently in August 2017 and was anxious to check out this restaurant for Sunday breakfast, considering all of the positive reviews. However, when I got there, I discovered that this "hole in the wall" as other reviews have stated, is exactly that. Though not attached to the shopping center itself, it's a tiny building (probably even smaller than a Waffle House) located at the front of the parking lot, by the entrance. Despite the reviews I really hesitated to go in because of how dilapidated the place looked. But I did see a lot of people coming to the place, most likely all locals. So when I decided to try it anyway, as I walked to the door I noticed a sign that said that their credit card machine was out of service and they were only excepting cash. Home fries are put in a deep fryer and no one tells you that's how they cook them here and apparently they've never been to a place where they don't grill the home fries ?? Scrambled eggs were cut in strips. Bacon was fatty and greasy. Toast is blotted in areas with unknown substance doubt its real butter. Also it's either not toasted or so hard one can break a tooth. Such a good breakfast! It's in a tiny corner of a strip mall and such a good value. Between two people, a breakfast total was about $18.00. This place is super tiny and seriously outdated. The place is a eye sore. Wood paneling, the tiles on the ceiling shows big ugly brown spots were they had many leaks on the roof, tables and chairs from the 80's. Went there for breakfast, huge disappointment! Ordered hashbrowns with cheese and onions. The cheese was a small melted square and appeared and tasted like a processed cheese product and I couldn't taste any onion, but was charged extra to add it. Eggs were undercooked. Bacon was hard and chewy. The waitress wasn't very attentive and I had to wait a while for a drink refill. We won't be coming back!!! read more

We had "The Dixon" which is the biscuits and gravy with hash browns and bacon or sausage, and the two egg breakfast the home fries "wild" style bacon and toast. All this and drinks for under $20. The biscuits and gravy were excellent and that would be my recommendation to anyone that stops in. Don't let the outside defer you from coming in the diner either. It's kind of like a trailer in the parking lot but oh my gosh is the food amazing. This place is seriously so legit. Cute little diner. Very clean and welcoming. Wide variety of breakfast items to choose from. I ordered two pancakes and a cup of oatmeal. My boyfriend ordered the hot hunters wild potatoes. Everything was delicious. The pancakes are huge and fluffy. Staff is nice. Our bill was 13$ for all that food. Very cheap for big portions.
