I made an appointment on a Friday through my warranty company and the service vendor they assigned couldn't come until the following Tuesday. August in Georgia is no joke. The vendor ended up not fixing anything on Tuesday, but added 2lbs of freon and left. No inspection, didn't check the furnace, didn't come in to check the vents, nothing. So on Wednesday, once the A/C went out again I followed up and made an another appointment, this time we were set for for Friday. The second tech the vendor sent tested the freon and saw that it was empty even though they had just added 2lbs 3 days ago. So the second tech did some test and started packing up. I asked what time he'd come back so that I could be home and he indicated the test takes 48-72 hours to determine where the leak is. I'm not a HVAC professional, but that sounded odd. Once the second tech left without attempting to fix anything, I started calling around and found R Tilery's website. I called to see if I could make an appointment and Ray himself picked up and said he could come later that afternoon. Wow, same day service, what a novel idea. You'd think if I told the vendor my warranty company used that other company's can make same day appointments it would make their heads explode. Ray showed up a few hours later, took the A/C unit apart quickly and inspected the inside and found oil in the bottom of the unit indicating a leak. He tested some gas in the line and we could hear the gas leaking from the unit. So it took Ray all of 15 minutes to do what two different techs could not do in two separate visits. Ray was great, I should have called him first. Don't be like me, call ray first. We will be calling him again if we are ever in need. Thanks Ray!

Our AC wasn't working properly on Tuesday night, so I called Emperor (who I have been using for…read morealmost 20 years) and asked if there was a technician who could come out. The scheduler said they would be here on Thursday between 12pm and 2pm, so my boyfriend rearranged his work schedule so he could be home. On Thursday the scheduler called and told me she got confused and that she meant the tech would be here on Friday between 12pm and 2pm. I told her that boyfriend had rearranged his schedule so if the tech could be here closer to 2 that we would appreciate it, the scheduler said they'd be at our condo closer to 2. He rearranged his schedule again, moving some things to earlier in the day so that he could be home by 12:30. At 11:45 they called me and said they were on their way to the condo. Boyfriend rushed home and as he was pulling up to the building at 12:05, he saw the tech from Emperor leaving our community. Boyfriend flagged him down and he parked and came up to our condo. He said he was going up to the roof. 10 minutes later he came back to our condo and said he was done and left. I called Emperor today and asked if there were any differences in what is done in our scheduled service every 6 months and what the tech did on Friday. The person I talked to said she didn't know and would call us back. My first statement when they answered the phone "I have no problem with paying but I want to understand additional service options." A few hours later I received the following text message from the tech, who also turns out to be their "service manager." We never said we wouldn't pay (it was only $75) or that we were unhappy with the service, we were just trying to figure out if there was anything else that would need to be done in the 6 month service vs. what was done on Friday or if we were good until the end of the year.

My building maintenance guy said I would have to replace the whole unit which costs thousands of dollars. BenLi repaired it for far less than that.
