This place is awesome, and we had a wonderful stay here. The hihglight was the sunset on Mackenzie beach which was sublime. I was here on my maiden trip with friends. We stayed here saturday night, in a two bedroom beachfront cabin. The pad was comfortable and clean. The beds were big and comfy, and we had a full kitchen with everything you can need for a meal along with a bar-be-que on the deck and a fireplace (they place chopped firewood in your cabins with kindling making it super easy). We decided to give it a pass, but we saw a ton of people doing bonfires on the beach. The staff is courteous. They have a bunch of options for borrowing boardgames and renting DVDs available at the front desk. It is not cheap and our cabin was 589 with taxes for a night, but if you are 5 people like us you can cut back costs. They also have glamping options in rented RVs and cabins, which are not beach front, but I would strongly recommend staying by the water. I am already thinking of returning in winter for storm watching. They have cabins with hot tubs on the deck too! They provide complimentary coffee and tea at their starbucks coffeeshop, and are pet friendly.

This is my third time camping here. By far the best experience camping in Tofino since I was six in 1968 and we camped right on the beach. Excellent staff and very accommodating to us. Staff member, Bryce, was extremely helpful. Already booked for two more trips in 2018

We wanted to be right on the cliff overlooking crashing winter storm waves! We tried to make plans in 2024 for their offered 4-day Christmas special (room, tree in room, ornaments for tree in room, breakfasts and Christmas Day dinner) but by mid 2024 the rooms for that time period were booked. Waited to early 2025 this time and were excited to get into a fantastic Deluxe room king size bed on the third floor of the Pointe Building. So, where to begin with all the many amenities, attentive staff and management interactions! Room was a very clean rustic appeal and looked right over surf below. Meals in the circular area were all fantastic choices, the drinks enjoyable. They provided water waders and raincoats so we were able to walk on the beach next to the Inn and that was an amazing experience for us. Huge wide beach that went on for miles. Sand was hard-packed so really no issue of getting stuck. Our weather was accommodating so not much rain and great walking time. But when not traveling a bit along the coast the room was a great respite and relaxing experience. While winter is normally a rougher time to travel to Tofino, I can imagine it is wonderful to go there in the other seasons as well. Next visit perhaps Autumn!

The resort is immaculately maintained. Staff are very pleasing and accommodating. Our room was clean and hand sani was readily available. We booked an beach front suite and was completely blown away. Our backdoor opened up to a vast expanse of greenery which was 15 steps to the beach. Filled with picnic tables, fire-pits, hammocks, lawn chairs that face the ocean...what more can you ask for. It was a staycation 2.0 for sure. Upon entering our suite, a bottle of complimentary wine was waiting for us. All kitchen utensils were complete and ready for our use, properly sanitized. In the lobby, check in was a breeze. Free Rhino coffee and hot chocolate 24/7. A small service pantry was available if you forgot anything ...every detail was thought of and prepared for you. For guests, a free smores kit is being handed out for guests to enjoy the fire pit and bond around a campfire. Bike rentals can also be had for a mere $15 for 4 hrs or $30 the whole day. Our pet got to stay for free, with no extra pet cleaning fee, as a courtesy for returning guests. And of course, we were accorded a late checkout for us to enjoy our stay more. From the moment you wake up to the sound of the ocean and the cool breeze going through your window, you are surrounded by nature's beauty all around. Such an excellent place to relax and unwind and feel the sand between your toes. Miles and miles of beach to walk and explore, and the water provided a welcoming relief to the scorching heat. Yes, it is a bit pricey, i must admit. But once in a while, you have to treat and love yourself. This place is simply amazing. Watching the sunrise and set and see the glow of the beach at night from the moonlight, reminds you that life is beautiful. A must go for everyone. A must try for first timers. A must add-on for your bucket list. Explore your own backyard. Cheers! Happy exploring!

Aside from the unique structure, we really liked this hotel because it was a beach front property close to restaurants/grocery store and had a fully equipped kitchen. The view from our balcony was beautiful - whether it be in the morning or evening. The hotel may look a bit rustic outside but we liked how modern and clean the washroom was. The kitchen also had complete and proper kitchen items we could borrow throughout our stay. Parking is next to the studio which made it very easy for us to load and unload our things. Guests observed silence in the evening which helped make it a pleasant experience for everyone. Customer service was mostly done by text. Check in and check out were easy and the procedures were sent by email. We also received reminders by text. When we had questions, the staff was a text away. This was very convenient for us and the staff responded quickly. This said, wifi and cell reception worked well during our stay as well. We would definitely stay here again!

Included breakfast was decent with boiled eggs, fresh fruit, fresh croissant, bagels, toast, ham/cheeses, and juices/coffee/tea. The negatives- The first lower level ocean view room with patio we stayed in the first night we checked the linens and bed as we normally would - discovered the sheets and pillow covers were past their prime and had that well used scent. Worse the duvet was likely hardly or never cleaned and had many stains, liquid spills/accidents, and what seemed like old blood. We notified the staff the next morning of this. Our second night we stayed at a upper level ocean view room with patio and checked the linens and bed - this room had similar condition linens and pillows and duvet didn't have as nearly as many stains. Sorry but these are not items an establishment can cheap out on - to clean thoroughly and/or replace when needed. There are no excuses for these conditions. Also no television in rooms or lodge.

Room options include 2 lodges plus triplex and duplex cabins with us choosing room 28, a second floor queen in the Headlands Lodge. In 2004 and 2006 we stayed at the adult only Lodge on Beach, but found the rooms too small. Our room had a micro patio offering a pretty good view of Mackenzie Beach if one leaned out over the railing. The lodge is very eco friendly going back to its original construction and furnishings. The setting is drop dead gorgeous with unobstructed views of Middle and MacKenzie beaches. Every employee we encountered throughout our stay proved to be both friendly and helpful. A continental breakfast is offered each day that covers the bases, but it became repetitive after 3 mornings. Dinner is served in season at the Lodge at the Headlands 5 nights per week with appetizers available in the Great Room beginning at 6PM. The evening's appetizer, lemon guacamole crustini, was excellent. At 7PM everyone joined a conga line for dinner that featured an entree of poached Chinook salmon with a spicy tomato chutney and lemon linguine. Three excellent salads were served buffet style - spicy quinoa, green beans and a mix salad with orange segments and roasted squash. Desserts included a choice of chocolate lava or mille-feuille. The chocolate lava cake was unexpectedly dry, the only misstep of the evening.

Whether you choose to hang out in your cozy room and gaze out at the ocean, enjoy it from the great room (strategically constructed on the second floor), or take advantage of the firepits and adirondacks, a walk on the beach, etc,you really can't go wrong wrong here. It's truly a great place to retreat and enjoy the sea. We found the room to be clean, cozy, and well updated. Service was good throughout the property and the grounds are well kept. On this visit, the food was better than our last and I had the opportunity to chat with the chef who goes out of his way to design a menu that is as inclusive (vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free, etc) as possible-- which I personally appreciated very much. The great room is a great place to bring a book or a game and enjoy the view, beverages, snacks (or a full meal). On this visit, we felt a little more pressure than we'd have liked to continue ordering food & beverages despite being told we could just hang out & enjoy the couches. If you are wondering about the EV charging-- as of this writing their are two ev chargers up by the gift shop. They are very slow chargers. In one instance there was a non-EV parked in one of the spots which is always a bummer. That said, we were always able to charge when needed.

If you are going there and plan on not using the Wifi this won't be an issue, but if you need the Internet for anything (netflix, email, ect.) this WILL be a problem. - The parking. We had to park at the end of the lot each night and it was pretty far from our room. Wish they would update their Internet (maybe invest in some new routers that have a better range?), but we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

How many ways can one "resort" disappoint over one weekend? Let's count together…read more 1- On check-in day my spouse stepped in a dog turd within 30 ft of the lobby, (great start), this could be bad dog owners, or lack of grounds staff keeping the place clean; but when we checked out 48hrs later and it was still there, that's clearly the resorts fault. 2- when we arrived we were unable to check in before 4:30, and could not get a late checkout even just for 11:00, no flexibility at all. It was pretty clear that the issue is not enough house keeping staff and zero communication with the few people they have. 3- there's a bar/bbq joint on the premises, ok, they have live music 6:30-8:30, ok. Thing is the music is way too loud, despite paying customers asking to have it turned down and the live music didn't actually stop till will almost 10, after which the music continues. No joke, the music was so loud the windows at our cabin were shaking. 4-there's no security, at all. During our stay some guy was going through tents, scaring folks and causing havoc. When somebody tried to report it, the front desk was closed and everybody was gone home. The only person working was the barista that was cleaning up. Thank goodness that person tried to help, but there was nothing to do but call the police because there is no security. 5-Parking. Get back from a day at the beach and somebody is parked in our assigned spot. Every person at the resort gave us the same BS answer, it happens all the time. Which translates to: we've known about the problem forever, but don't care enough to do anything about it. 6- trying our best to have a good time through this disaster of a stay lounging in the hot tub despite the too loud music from the bar, some drunk comes and pees right in front of our balcony cause he's too lazy and again... no security. 7- all this and having to pay over a thousand for two nights is just un believable. I think that's enough disappointment for one review. I'm never going back and neither should you.

We camped over Labour Day weekend and had a great time, but the facility was only so-so…read more Pros: The campsite is located right in front of the beach, and has bright and clean bathrooms/showers. Cons: The owners way oversold the property for this weekend. Our tent was crammed into a space that should reasonably have accommodated maybe 3-4 campsites, but had probably 15-20 tents on it. That means everything you own is covered in soot from your neighbor's fire, people are constantly trampling through your space, competing music genres blasting from various speakers, and you get woken up at night by partiers trying to find their tents, and early risers in the morning. There is also garbage everywhere (although they do a really good job of going around with bags and picking it up every day), and the kitchen washing area was pretty gross (one sink only). Overall, this place is good if you don't minding spending a small fortune on camping, really want to be near the beach, and don't mind being packed in like sardines. If you're looking for a relaxing time to get back to nature, this is not the place for you.
