The address had not been updated on Yelp so I drove to the old location. I called twice but no one answered. Thanks to Google search I found the correct address in midtown. * I suggested an edit for the business and the address on Yelp is now up to date. I came to Crystal Cove in search of rings, bracelets, and earrings. I have enough crystals in other forms to sink a ship, but it's always nice to browse. I was greeted by the lady behind the counter. She did some small talk asking me about how my holiday season was. Then she gave too much information about her and her family. She said I was free to look around and to let her know if I needed any help. She gave me a tiny wicker basket for shopping. The place is very small and it is packed with glass shelves so I had to be mindful of how I moved around the store. There were signs letting you know that you were being watched and to "Smile". I get it, tiny items can easily be shoplifted, but the cameras kind of take away the zen feeling. I found a case with a few trays of rings that I wanted to look at and try on. I asked the employee for help. At that time there were at least two other shoppers in the store and it was getting a bit packed. So I took the tray to the main counter thinking that way I would have more space to try on the rings and she could keep a closer eye on the other customers. She told me no. So she and I huddled next to each other as I tried on rings under her watchful eye. It felt very awkward. I quickly chose a ring, paid, and left. While I was checking out she again asked me how my holiday was. She also made a negative comment about the city of Reno. I don't plan on returning. My mom and I went to the midtown location and the women was lovely we were looking for a recommendation to get a gemstone I have made into a necklace. She said to go to the other location. We walked in here and there was a girl working sitting on the floor counting inventory. She didn't even look up or say "hello welcome in". I thought ok she's side tracked not a big deal my mom and I look around the store and she sits there as if we are invisible no "can I help you find anything?" At this moment I'm thinking AITA for perceiving this girl to be rude? So I approached her and ask her if she knows anyone that can get my gemstone looked at to be made into a necklace she looks up and say the owner may know but he's not here right now. Nothing else, goes back to her task. Weirdest interaction ever I say oh ok and we leave. No "goodbye have a nice day". Nothing it was soooo strange. My first impression was immediately woah! You walk into the old house whoch is parted in two splitting off two businesses which gives it a very comfy and welcoming energy. And then you immediately see crystals and stones glistening in the natural light from the windows. The young woman working at the counter was super friendly, she didnt know too much as far as the types or names of some of the stones but thats understandable. They were defiantly a lot mofe pricy than some of the other rock stores ive been to but they did have a unique range of stones and beyond. Overall store has a lot to offer and the dark room was an amazing experience. It was my first time in and I was excited to see what there was but really disappointed when I left. No prices were listed on the crystals so I ended up spending way over budget. Also no cards of which crystals I bought were provided. I live in Gardnerville and i drove over an hour to visit Crystal Cove on a Monday when they were open. I even called them before i left and they said they were open until 7 pm. I got there around 2 and they were closed. The next week i tried again on a Wednesday and i also called beforehand and i got there at 12 and they were closed again after saying they were open. They seem to leave whenever they feel like it. Horrible customer service very unsatisfied. I have wasted a lot of my time driving back and fourth to try to visit crystal cove. It is not worth it. They spoke as soon as we walked in (1st star) As I walked through I saw so many different stones. A majority of them were labeled for easy finding. (2nd star) while walking through I noticed they offer a number of different stones some at affordable prices and some on the more expensive side. It depends on yur preference. (3rd star) the store was very roomy... it had 3 rooms in total. One of them was a dark room where they show yu the stones that glow under a black light. One of the ladies came over and told me before I go into the room do some meditation and open my heart chakra and third eye chakra to be more intuitive and see which stone was speaking to me. (4th star) Unfortunately, none of them spoke to me... I was focused but not enough for them to tell me what's needed. This was back in summer 2018.. they had a tarot reader who charged me $30 for a 5 minute reading. Wasn't in-depth, wasn't even nice but I guess you can't equate a "spiritualist" with nice/good. She rushed me and then spent 5 extra minutes discussing where she could get gray contact lenses like mine. Basically paid $30 to give her beauty advice. I wanted to walk out so badly but everyone needs money so I took that L. Went to another tarot reader in Las Vegas soon after her and the LV reader was so spot on and empathetic, the LV reader said things that actually happened in the coming years. Stopped by to check out some crystals but upon arrival the shop had it's "open" sign lit up but a "out for lunch, be back soon, sorry for the inconvenience" sign posted on the door. Decided to get some food ourselves and i called the shop 5 times with no answer, i drove by one more time and found that no one was there after an hour and a half. This place is so disorganized. They always mislabel their crystals and the attendants are always different, most of which don't even know what they're talking about because they're just "filling in". Very unreliable. One time I went in there the attendant dropped my crystals and didn't even apologize or check to see if it's been damaged. The energy is so off don't even come here. Go elsewhere. Sometimes they have disruptive children in the store that one of the managers/owners/whoever runs this place had to repeatedly ask to go in the back. Ugh. read more
