Lovely location for afternoon tea as it is bright and vibrant with beautiful piano music being played whilst you leisurely sip your tea and nibble on finger sandwiches, but not too leisurely as one's time at the table is on the clock. In an effort to turn the tables, there is a time limit for one to enjoy tea, champagne, sandwiches, and dessert. Turn baby turn.
The egg sandwich with black truffle is memorable and addicting, the coronation chicken is much better than Fortnum & Mason's Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon, the cucumber sandwich is refreshing, the ham sandwich is what one would expect, but not remarkable. We skipped the salmon. The wait staff is quite accommodating and will substitute sandwiches out if one does care for one or has allergies.
A nice selection of teas. They will refresh the pot if it has steeped too long or change the tea one has selected if not pleading. The clientele is a younger crowd than Claridges' Foyer and Reading Room by a decade or two it would seem.
The scones were of good quality and fresh; however, as can be observed in the photo, two were over baked. The desserts were all very good.
The only downsides are the table time limit and the tea service is literally in the atrium of the Corinthian Hotel; therefore, hotel guests walk on either side or through the center of the tea service. read more
