Happened to find this spot when I was just looking at random places on google maps and glad we made the time to come out. This is a distillery that focuses on moonshine but also does some vodka as well. Its a sort of rustic spot that seemed off the main strip so was a bit quieter. My partner and I came for the tasting which was a super deal at $10 a person for around 13 samples of their various drinks. Keally was our server and she was super nice and gave us great background about the various moonshines and drinks. She also provided good suggestions on how to mix them up or pair them with other things. We had a lot of fun and ended up buying some thins to take back with us (which was nice as they have pretty good deals the more you buy). read more

Did a tasting afterwards and the mixers were pretty decent and the moonshine was very flavorful but a couple of them I didn't care for. My daughter and I were ready for an indoor activity in Hot Springs after a cold day of being outside, so we decided to go for a wine tasting. This is NOT a winery, lol, but we had a blast anyway!! The building is so cool inside and out, and our bartender Hannah set us up with a group of fun people from Texas for our samples of moonshine and vodka blends, and next thing you know-we were all friends!!! I have a feeling we would've had a fabulous time at the Crystal Ridge Distillery. Our visit started off fabulously as we paid for two tastings with LaCricia. She walked us through the moonshine tasters, sharing a little about each one with our group and another across the tasting table. About 3/4 of the way through our tastings, another older man announced awkwardly that last call had long passed and any open tabs at the bar needed to be closed out. We hadn't gotten to the bar, as we and the other group wanted to taste the different moonshine offerings before ordering drinks made with them. Another couple walked in right about this time. That would make 8 folks at the tasting table, in addition to the other couples who were already seated. For context, before deciding to visit the distillery, we specifically checked the hours and noted that the last distillery tour is listed to start at 7 pm and on Yelp, they close at 8 pm. Another couple referenced both the website hours and tour start times as well. As someone who grew up in a family owned business, good customer service is critical. It's one thing to close early if business is slow but it felt unwise to close with a roomful of customers clearly expecting to stay and sample / drink. When several of us made reference to the hours, no accommodations were offered. Our tasting host seemed a little surprised and shared thinking that she thought we'd have time to get through the tasting and have time for a cocktail. Nope. We did purchase one bottle, but had we stayed, we would've likely purchased more and def would have enjoyed several drinks. It became very apparent that 7 pm was closing time when the older gentleman starting turning off lights while we finished our tastings. It was very awkward watching him yell back and forth to her as he started shutting things down. Just before writing this review, I checked the website for times and even there, the last distillery tour is listed to be at 7 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Maybe updating hours in both Yelp and the website is good? Everything else about Crystal Distillery looked to be amazing, but alas, we didn't have time to experience it. This feels so counter intuitive, particularly as you think about the owners' intention to support revitalizing the area. So we left. As we were in town for the weekend, this was it. We won't have an opportunity to return. And, interestingly and annoyingly, we learned as we paid and left, that "next week, we stay open until 8 pm." Wow. It's the little things that matter. This was a fail in my book. read more

Chris provided a great explanation of the moonshine making process on our tour. Then he was fun as we tasted flavored moonshine. This was my first experience with moonshine... and loved Apple pie, Salted caramel, banana cream, Peanut butter and the Banana cream margarita. I'm on the road with no way to travel with a bottle of any of them, but it was a great first time experience for me! We visited the Distillery in August for a tasting event and a tour for an event we are planning. We enjoyed the tasting, made several purchases as a result. The tour of the event space was useful and we decided that we wanted to host our event at this venue. Upon contacting the event planner for a contract shortly after returning home, they inquired about the name and contact information. So we thought we had successfully made this selection and it would be secured. Then we heard NOTHING back. Expecting a contract for the date we discussed, several members of our group reached out to inquire about the missing contract to secure our date. Still, No reply. As we have now lost a month in planning, we finally contacted the local wedding planner and once again the event services for the Distillery. We were then informed that our date was not available. This was NOT mentioned when we scheduled the tour, provided the date, met with the distillery's event coordinator, when we returned the next day for an additional look before heading back home, nor when we requested the contract. I am most disappointed that this conflict was not IMMEDIATELY mentioned so we could move on, that we were ghosted for several weeks without any clue that our contract was not being prepared/sent, and we could not get someone to return our calls until we left a message that we were calling to pay the deposit on a booking. Weeks of no reply but we got a return call the same day when we left the message that we were inquiring about a booking and paying the deposit. This is extremely inconsiderate to anyone who is trying to plan an event there - especially from out of town. We only looked at this venue based on your recommendation in the Bride's Guide. After touring and meeting with them Aug 15th and getting ghosted.... We are a month behind, have to plan ANOTHER visit to Hot Springs, and start over on selecting our wedding reception venue. read more

Flavored moonshines are not really my thing but Crystal Ridge does a good job with them. They are a bit sweet but they taste spot on to what they say they should taste like. This distillery is really nice and the tasting is a lot of fun. They also make a really nice young whiskey, although it is currently distilled in Texas. If you are visiting Hot Springs, I would put them on your todo list. read more

Dropped in and had a fun tasting. Great vibes from staff. We had a few of the moon shines, pineapple, espresso, butterscotch and the 120 proof mule kick. I don't understand the need for 120 proof liquor, it was face squishing, glad I did it but wouldn't drink it. Then we had a few of their vodka sodas and they were very delicious. I was hesitant to try this place after going to a moonshine distillery in Brandon, Missouri about a year ago and the moonshine tasted medicinal. However, I looked at the reviews for this place and thought," Why not?", and my friend seemed interested too. They have a huge parking lot and a nice outdoor seating area for those nice nights for sippin' moonshine. We walked in, and were immediately greeted by a couple of employees. I was interested in their adult chocolate milk, but was told the Coffee Shinetini had a better taste. I told the bartender about my bad experience with moonshine in Missouri, and she told me not only the exact distillery I went to (I never said this ahead of time), but why it tasted bad. My friend also ordered a drink (Huckleberry Mint Julep), and she loved it. My Coffee Shinetini was amazing too. In fact it was so amazing, I am going back tomorrow to get another one and buy some moonshine. The staff is also very nice, and there were a lot of them to help you out. This was also a very laid back atmosphere, and I never felt pressured to buy anything. The prices are reasonable, and I loved all the mixed drink suggestions. As you can see, I fell in love with this place and my friend would echo the same sentiments. Next time you are coming to Hot Springs, carve out some "me time", and visit this place to spoil yourself even more. read more

Everything was delicious and we went home with a bottle of butterscotch moonshine and 5 of the vodka seltzer 4-packs for under $100. Service was excellent! For adult tourists, no visit to Hot Springs, Arkansas, should be considered complete without at least a tasting tour of "Crystal Ridge Distillery." https://crystalridgedistillery.com Founded in 2018, the distillery features 15 different flavors of moonshine, and the opportunity to not only sample these tasty options but also learn about the chemistry and production process of moonshine on site. Unlike bourbon and whiskey, moonshine does not age in barrels over time. Therefore, it tends to be much sweeter. The "Mule Kick" unflavored variety is 120 proof, the flavored varieties are 70 proof. They do offer some bourbon which is initially sourced from Kentucky, but tempered down to a lower alcohol content with delicious and pure mineral water from right here in Hot Springs. Different moonshine flavors can be mixed with a wide variety of other drinks to make tasty cocktails. As you can learn in greater detail at "The Gangster Museum" (which we also toured on this trip) moonshine figured prominently in the colorful history of Hot Springs. This was my first time visiting, sat at the beer bar for a few minutes. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Then I moved over to the tasting area and oh boy! this place knocked my socks off! Staff leading the tasting was Megan and she knew bunches about their products! This was fun. If you want the tour, plan ahead because they don't just do them all the time. If you want the tasting experience it's generally when there are 4-6 people ready to do it. So pretty often. Tasting was 10 bucks for 5-6 different spirits, I think? You only get a half ounce or so, but more than enough for flavor. Building is gorgeous and so much woodworking it has that smell. The shop is nice, but limited on merchandise beyond the spirits section. Fair. It's a distillery. read more

Checked out this awesome distillery today and was not disappointed! After walking around and seeing all of the moonshine the bartender said a tasting will start in 15 min, perfect! The lady was super helpful that was doing the tasting, on the moonshine and the history. She also recommended hole in the wall places to visit and experience while here! My husband and I visited the distillery on New Year's Eve to have a cocktail prior to our anniversary dinner reservation. The staff greeted us warmly, showed us around and got us set up for a tasting. We enjoyed the tasting and the young lady who did that for us was very helpful and jovial. She was very good at her job! after our tasting, we sat at the bar for a delicious cocktail and the bartender was just as friendly and interactive. We enjoyed our tasting and cocktail, purchased a bottle of moonshine, and have already planned a return trip for more tasting and cocktails. I highly recommend visiting. We did not do the tour as we have toured another distillery but we may even try a tour next time to see how this one is different.
