It's literally across from the fishing area, picnic area, farthest from the traffic and road noise. The water has a fountain and ongoing movement of water, perhaps that's why it seems more natural looking vs stagnant and gross. Most of this area and the opposite side of the river is undeveloped so it has a nature feel that most campsites I've been to don't give. And I've been to lots of them. My Hubby and sons caught like 7, 8, and 20 fish they said. All catch and release. Tons of catfish & bass. Some are so huge. Keep staring at the water near the small metal dock there and you might see them all. We are in site 122. The road noise woke me up at 6am, so I put in my earplugs and slept until 9am. For my future self, make sure to keep a permanent earplug stash in the RV. Other times I've been in other sites and the noise wasn't an issue and we've stayed here at least 3-4x. It's not glamorous, it doesn't have a ton of extra like a pool, putting greens, pool table, snack bar, etc. But it does have a small, shaded kids play area, volleyball net, basketball hoop, shaded picnic tables. It's so country feeling and relaxing. Its quiet & thats what I prefer when I go camping. This is one of my favorite camping spots in the cooler months of early Spring like March. One day I'd like to come here & camp on my way to Yosemite or Kings Canyon. Great rates & highly suggest.

Casey and crew were absolutely incredible! Fun, friendly, yet utterly professional when it was called for. The staff went WAYYY above and beyond with their hospitality to ensure we had an awesome time. I spoke with Casey a few times leading up to our trip, with a few questions/concerns/requests, and he 100% made me feel like we were in the right hands, like a VIP, turns out we were indeed! Big shout out to our guide, Greg. Thank you sir! it was a pleasure to be in your boat, undoubtedly the best of the bunch. My daughter started going to this camp 25 years ago and stayed for 10 years! She got her 10-year jacket, which she still has, and used her GAC blanket through college. Twas his very first stint staying at an overnight camp. He enjoyed it so much, that he wants to ret'n for 1mo! From what he tells me, he likes the variety of activities: archery, hi-ropes, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, sailing, riflery, ziplining, hiking, backpacking, waterskiing, wake boarding, mountain climbing, camping, art & crafts. The bus picks up the kids at the Cheviot Hills Rec Center. Then you do not see nor speak with them until they return. The only correspondence permitted is via email or USPost. They also post daily picks of the kids at play to the web site. Twas a great way to help build a kid's sense of independence. That was my motivation to send mine here. We're both happy. I only had marbles and a fishing pole when I was in camp! (lol) *** Gold Arrow is pricey but it is a great way to cut the cord. ***

Today, we hiked within half a mile off the main trail. The Wawona Trail is about a 6-mile drive from Yosemite South Gate entrance. Wawona Trail Hike: Distance: 4.42 mi (3.5-3.7 miles longer or 5-miles depending on exact path) Elevation Gain: Minimal (~249 ft) Round Trip: 2.34 hours Difficulty: Easy to Moderate Surface: Wide, hard-packed dirt fire road and historical path Scenery: Pine forests, open mountain views, and great gobs of wildflowers Wawona hotel: The national historic Wawona Hotel in Yosemite National Park comprises of six whitewashed Victorian buildings. We used to stop here for a drink and a snack break during our hikes. Unfortunately, this once beautiful historic location had been closed since December 2nd, 2024... for an indefinite period. Today, this place looked like a ghost town. We were shocked and sad to see what has become of the buildings here. Winds blowing the signs at every entrance. The neglect which may lead to demolition if left uncared for. Water damage caused them to replacement the roof on the main building but that didn't stop the on-going structural damages at this national historic Wawona Hotel in Yosemite National Park. It is truly sad to see that 'normal' citizens cannot enjoy the few remaining public areas. Where is our hard-earned money going to??

The young gentleman manning the front desk was very courteous and tried his best to be helpful. Said he was new and lack of training is apparent. I was looking for any information on or about OHR. SNF had absolutely no brochures or maps. NOT any free information or FOR PURCHASE information. I can see why people that are trying to abide by laws and rules get in trouble. I must ask "When was the last time SNF ordered information for public"? I see it as a poorly run organization....

The horses are well trained and cared for, and the staff is attentive, patient and kind. The ride was beautiful. We did a one hour tour that crossed a creek twice and went up and down hills. The staff does a verbal training and allows some time for practice--making sure that everyone is comfortable before heading out. They even stopped part of the way to check everyone's saddles and take photos. I highly recommend these stables when in the Yosemite area. As a plus, flush toilets are available at check-in.

We spent about 3 or so hours playing & exploring. It's really meant for younger ages,probably up until about 10-11. My son is going to be 11 next week & loved it because he loves dinosaurs, digging & science. Not sure i would go out of my way to go back, only because we don't live locally but if we lived in fresno I would consider getting a membership. They have a lot of great programs throughout the week which would be great for school field trips or homeschooling co-ops.

Around 11am they have a person doing a science presentation but unfortunately she was running late on her project and I overheard her being kind of rude and not in a good mood so we decided to move on to the next room. They were also selling boba and eggrolls outside, sorry I forget the name of the seller that had their booth there. The kids enjoyed the front area where they can dress up, draw and play with toys. There was also someone selling their 3D printed animals, which the kids loved so I caved and bought them all one plus help support small businesses. Overall it was a nice experience for the kids to enjoy.

Anywho, the first time I came to this park which is just across the street from our living quarters. The first time Clovis PD was there removing the homeless camps. Behind Letterman park there is a beautiful canal that has a princess path to get to it and this is where we saw duck couples and followed the same duck couple until they had babies of their own and started to feed their family. The park has a skate park attached to it, grassy areas, play structures and seating. Over the 5 or 6 months we have been frequenting this park we have seen which the pandemic came through and they had to shut down the park by putting caution tap all around. We seen people camp out here, do exercise classes and homeless roaming which he didn't see a lot of that before the pandemic. We walk out there all hours of the day and night. We bring flash lights as it gets pretty dark. We have met a lot of amazing people like a woman for the past 17 years will come out and feed abandoned domestic cats which there are about 10 of them. A really cool homeless dude that gives us updates on our duck babies and action going on. Teens out late probably up to no good. Met a father of three who was a cool dude who was laid off due the pandemic and his kiddos were so adorable! We see Clovis PD in back of the park all the time! So this park gets A LOT of action. However since it's so close we come here A LOT and will continue to do pandemic or not!

There was also a bbq propane grill all set up for us and 3 double tubes and 3 single tubes there too. I didn't have to drag all of that from check in which I thought was nice! General parking is $8 if you wanted to park upfront I believe that's like $25. I would recommend paying tickets online months in advance because the prices do increase everyday or even investing into their seasonal pass because I'm sure there's a lot of perks from that including discounted tickets, quick pass line and more. I came three summers ago and there are major updates to the park especially the lazy river. I understand that they just built it but it definitely needs trees around for shade. I went on a couple of rides which was fun too. Line wasn't too bad because we did go on a weekday. Food and drinks outside are allowed just no alcohol and knifes of course! I did rate 4/5 because staff and lifeguards can be rude and snobby. I get that they're just high school kids but at the end of the day, it's a place of work for them and they do need to work on service and communication skills. Overall, I had a blast and I'll definitely be back next summer! It's such a fun thing to do with your kids and since summer is coming to an end for them, why not end it with a bang!

I could not see the speed bump as I was leaving and hit it harder than I expected to. Admission has gone up significantly. I think that's okay because you need to keep the facilities up. Tip: If you're charging premium admission prices you need to make sure all rides are functional. Two of the regular water slides were closed. This was annoying because one of them was my favorite. Tip: If you need to work on rides during business hours have a notification telling guests what attractions are closed and why. I was really excited to learn that you have a lazy river. I really enjoyed the one at Island Water Park. Once I got used to your lazy river I liked it. What I don't like about it is the water shooting out of the turtles. I could really do without it. It's a lazy river which is supposed to be relaxing. Getting sprayed with cold water is not relaxing. My group really liked our cabana. It was shaded by mature trees which is wonderful. Overall I believe that my family had a great time which is what was most important. It was really hot and I can't think of many places to go on such a scorching day.
