The hotel is located in a good location, making it accessible to walk down to the water or to uber to quickly and easily to other locations. The breakfast was the star of the show here, though. It truly had something for everyone and anything you could ever imagine. The Nutella and pancakes were the incredible! The upstairs restaurant and bar was delicious. They had a great selection of wine and great bites to share. The duck spring rolls are not to be overlooked!

They registered us in and took my cell to notify me when the room would be available if it's earlier than the regular check-in time. Our luggage was promptly stored by the concierge. Soon after, we got a notification that the room was already available, much earlier than we expected. After getting our keys and going upstairs to check out our room, our luggage was already laying there. The hotel also has a decent size gym though I must say it's not the best I've been to. They do have a very nice indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi. The breakfast is pretty good and has a nice variety. The best part of the hotel though in my opinion is its proximity to a lot of attractions including just a 10 min walk to the harbor and Sydney Opera House. It's located in the Rock neighborhood so lots of restaurants to choose from. It's also only a 10 min walk to George street which is the one of the main shopping and walking streets in Sydney. My only negative feedback is that the hotel seems a bit dated to me and the furniture, bathroom, and carpets need an upgrade / remodel.

Furnishings felt a couple of decades dated, and the thin carpet lumped up in places. (We found a lone dead cockroach on the rug.) We felt compelled to wear flip-flops on it. And our windows on the 11th floor were sealed shut, couldn't even crack them a few inches for fresh air; we were hermetically sealed in. Bare-bones amenities -- the bathroom had liquid soap, shampoo and conditioner, and a hair dryer; but no body lotion, q-tips or cotton balls. The "kitchenette" turned out to be a large-ish closet with a few dishes, silverware, and glassware, a teapot and pod coffee maker with an assortment of teabags and a few coffee pods; but only a sink and TEEEEENY refrigerator that couldn't hold much more than last night's restaurant doggie bag stored on its side. I'd called the hotel ahead of our visit and was assured there would be a cooktop in the kitchenette, so I brought groceries for hot breakfasts and to cook chicken/burgers for picnic sandwiches -- but not only wasn't there a cooktop or oven, there wasn't even a microwave to reheat leftovers; and we couldn't cram half our bag of groceries in the micro-fridge. That p*ssed me off, a pointless lie that wasted money on the raw meat and veggies I'd brought along to cook. Minimal amenities here too -- no dish sponge, tea towels, paper towels, or dish soap, and no minibar snack offerings. (We specifically chose this place because of the kitchenette; we would have chosen a nicer place elsewhere for the same price if we'd known we couldn't actually cook or even reheat anything here.) The upside was, I wasn't remotely tempted to stay in and nurse the horrific headcold I'd caught -- the "meh" space pushed me to get out and do walking tours and see the city, balloon-head be damned. (I actually think just a standard room would be more agreeable -- no understocked and un-appointed kitchenette to disappoint, and less space to notice the lack of decor filling it.) Very nice front desk manager, and "Spice Alley" assortment of nice restaurants only a block away. The hotel would be handy for an overnight stop headed in or out of town; but not what you'd call a destination hotel.

I say "quick' "check in" because we were out of there pretty quick. The front desk staff seemed friendly enough at check in, but when we went to the room we found a total shocker. Complete filth. Trash left in the room, dust and dirt griming ever surface. The desk chair had a huge round impression in the seat and everything was rusted over. I booked the hotel through Reservations.com and am perplexed at how this place has the positive ratings and reviews. My only logical understanding is that the majority of positive reviews of this place are made up by staff and/or totally fraudulent. After checking into a disgusting room, we immediately went downstairs to ask to cancel our reservation, as we found the hallways and entire spaces we were in to just be extremely dirty. The front desk staff was courteous, understanding, and seemed to express that this happens quite often, as though it's no big deal. Here's where the bigger head ache came in. Hotels.com refused to refund the entire amount, so I am out nearly $200 because of a hotelier's decision to run a filthy operation. We had a five-night stay booked, totaling more than $700, however since we didn't give 24 hours' notice that we didn't want to stay at a trashy and filthy hotel, that we'd have to forfeit one night's stay rate. Un-freaking-believable. Reservations.com and this hotel should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of tourists the way they do, presenting illegitimate and unverified reviews. This hotel has a great location, but as they say, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

It looks quite small but it is so large. The rooms are delightful and very comfortable. My daughter was coming down from the central Coast when she lost control of her car in the rain. She had to stay in Sydney as she had no way of getting back that night. I phoned and made a booking, they were so helpful and even though they were busy, they found a room from my daughter and her partner at 9pm at night. We celebrated my sister-in-law's 60th birthday at the hotel. The food was great, every course a winner. We had wonderful service, the staff were terrific. Now I go to the Spa at the hotel. It's in a separate building, right next to the swimming pool and it is really rather luxurious. They offer all sorts of things like body wraps and stone massages . The only problem is getting through to them. They don't have a separate receptionist so you have to leave a message. However, if you want to spoil yourself or a friend, there's nothing better.

I stayed here a few weeks ago with a large group of my students and their parents. The hotel itself was fine. Breakfast was included daily and was pretty good. We do wish they had free WiFi, but were glad to see some internet ready computers in the lobby for a cheap price by the minute. The rooms could have been cleaner. I noticed that the sheets had some stray hairs on them that most certainly did not belong to me. There was a sign in the room saying they were trying to conserve resources and if we left a sign on the bed and the hang tag on the door, the towels wouldn't be changed out etc... Well, we left all signs and everything was still changed out for new. Each day we started with 4 towels but only 2 were returned. Each evening we had to ask for 2 more towels. The shower is an off set up with no real divider between the shower floor and the rest of the bathroom. You can sit on the toilet and get wet from the shower. Strange. The huge warning sign on the microwave meant that no one would ever use it, so why are they even provided? We did take advantage of the laundry facilities. They are located on 4 of the floors. They aren't free, but they got our clothes clean! They also sell single serving packets of laundry detergent in each laundry room. Overall, the hotel saves itself with a decent breakfast and a prime location. I just wish the room were a little larger and cleaner.

The room had a small kitchenette with a microwave, fridge, plates, utensils, cups, and an electric kettle. (Come on America, drink more tea!) The bed was large and comfortable for me too. There was a flat panel tv and a table with chairs. The room was clean and a nice escape from exploring Sydney. The walls were pretty thin; I had to yell at some of the kids in our tour group since you could hear door slamming while lying in bed. The laundry facilities were great too. It cost about $8 for detergent, wash, dry. I only spent $2 since I just used the washer. I air dried my clothes in the room and they were ready to go the next day. This hotel had a great location; it was walking distance to shops, restaurants, and not too far from the Westfield Mall. Ha! Make sure you have a good map so you're ready to explore this beautiful city!
