A luxury hotel located in the best part of Sydney! I spent 5 nights and stayed in an Opera view room - so very special! The room was spacious, I loved the luxury bedding, Toto washlet toilet, Le Labo amenities! Breakfast at the hotel was so great - they had an Asian breakfast menu and served sticky rice, wonton soup and chicken congee. The Dining Room has delicious food - Superb! The staff was accommodating and great customer service. Can't wait to return. read more

Spectacular hotel with some of the best views on the harbour. We only stayed one night since it was 40,000 Hyatt points, but the room, service, location can't be beat. From our balcony we could look at the city skyline, or the opera house. Everything here is first class. I like the location as it is an easy walk to most of the touristy things you'll want to do. I recommend going to 6Head restaurant next door as that was one of the best restaurants we went to on our entire Australia/New Zealand trip. read more

After we docked from the cruise ship, which was like 2 min walk, we decided to stay at the Hyatt. I have to say, it's the most beautiful view of the harbor and the opera house. The view at night is stunning. The breakfast restaurant was amazing, everything was fresh and healthy. I would love love love to come back to this hotel again. The room was huge and super clean. The bathroom was amazing. They also have heated toilets which was a plus. Overall experience was fantastic. The gym was nice. The gym only had 1 restroom. The pool on the 4th floor was great. They do drink service. We only stayed for 2 nights. We wanted to venture out, so we didn't get to enjoy the pool. The view was spectacular. If you are thinking about staying at a hotel, this is the one I would recommend 10/10. FYI, we went to the bar and hanged out with the bartender Alex, he's the best. He knew his stuff. Very well versed of the drink menu. Go visit him. Ask him about the chocolate milk shake, it looked so yummy. Wish I would have got it. read more

Hospitality goes above and beyond here. You arrive at the front and without hesitation, the staff is assisting you with luggage and a warm smile. They take you inside a beautiful lobby (no lines ever). It's so personal and friendly when you are being checked in. Thank you Rikjin. We had a small child and was asking to check in early prior to arriving which they accommodated at 8am after arriving shortly here in Sydney at 6am. Thank you for that. The lift takes you to an even more gorgeous room with our King bed just begging to be laid on. Very clean and wonderful aromas of pine and maybe a little vanilla in the air. Our view was very relaxing. Rm. 147 faces a beautiful tree. Wonderful amenities such as an nespresso bar and mini fridge for cold water and beverages. The room was kept clean and our beds made, even when we left for dinner. Roof top is breathtaking of the Sydney opera house and ocean view. The pool is heated and was quite private. The food at The Dining Room is wonderful and the service even more lovely. 55 pp for breakfast buffet. Pujaa (I apologize if mispelled) and a few other ladies helped us with a variety of delicious items for our 8 month old. They even assisted us with the high chair which proved challenging but they helped us with that too. Service is above 100% here. read more

That feel when your partner wakes you up at sunrise and randomly finds and books round trip business class flight to Oz (IYKYK)... it was time to roll the dice and see if this PHS had award availability. Oh, well would you look at that, how convenient, redemptions were available, might as well since everyone talks about this property. Onwards to the down under! Accommodations: elite status recognition got us an opera house view, which was a nice gesture. We found the room a good size, and overall nice touches that were more elevated and upscale than say, the more tired (and less $$$) Shangri-La down the street. I think the Park Hyatt Saigon (another PHS!) has more luxurious finishes in comparison, but the economics ($$$) are a bit different over there Dining: we only had our breakfasts here as they were comped. It was outstanding and phenomenal! The buffet had the best almond croissants I've had in a while - light, flaky, perfectly dusted, and so much more. We found the pastry and fruit options very fresh and nicely presented. We also ordered an entree, coffee or nonalcoholic bevvy, etc. as they were included. There's a couple healthy options, which made it easy for us not to over eat. The view is wonderful since the dining room faces east in the morning. Amenities: we didn't make it to the gym facility, but we found the pool underwhelming. Luckily I'm not crazy about pools, so not really a negative on my end. Valet parking is pretty efficient, although we found the entrance a bit hidden (missed it the first go around). Front desk and concierge were friendly and available for any requests. No issues with late check out either Overall the location is great on the waterfront and easy to walk around in along the harbour. It's about 10-15 min. walk to public transit depending where you're going, including the ferries along circular quay. It's not unreasonable to walk to Barangaroo from here either, especially when the weather is nice. The breakfast was a highlight, and I found it more enjoyable than the breakfast buffet at Park Hyatt Vendome in Paris. If you can swing it, I highly recommend staying here if you're in Sydney. read more

I came to Hyatt expecting world-class hospitality and left with one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a hotel. After raising legitimate concerns, staff retaliated by suddenly questioning and denying future access for my service dog -- something that had never been an issue before. On top of that, I was stalked online by staff, and every complaint was brushed aside as if my rights didn't matter. Hyatt hides behind slogans about "caring for people" while retaliating against guests who speak up. The hypocrisy is staggering -- this isn't five-star service, it's five-star arrogance and discrimination. read more

Stunningly built into the Rocks, with views of the Sydney Opera house, and walkways along the Harbour, the Park Hyatt is the epitome of luxury. We spent some time at the Four Seasons a few minutes away and the difference is night and day (and we are huge fans of Four Seasons other than the Sydney property). Amazing stay, but boy do you pay for it. Our hotel room was beautiful, and we had a great view of the Opera House. The concierge was absolutely fantastic. I think the lady we worked with was named Dana. She made excellent suggestions for what to do with our couple days in Sydney and made us a fantastic itinerary which was delivered to our room. Upon learning it was our honeymoon, the front desk sent a bottle of Chandon and truffles to our room, which was very nice. The service is most definitely what you pay for here. We would have liked to upgrade our room but couldn't afford $600 per night to go to a suite, so we paid $80 per night for the Opera House view. We did the chef's dinner in the Dining Room one night, and the staff were great. They moved us to a table by the window. The breakfast is off the chain too! read more

I could live here - seriously! It just reminded me of what upscale boutique hotel should be...after staying here. The location is of course super - you get to wake up watching the opera house every morning! But the service provided at this hotel made huge differences. From doorman, front desk personnel, concierge desk, restaurant attendants, and butler staff...all were polite and professional. Each of them tries to go beyond and makes sure all guests are pleased with their stay. Once you meet them, they know who you are, and remember your name. I know it's not cheap to stay here, but it is absolutely worth it. This is so far my most favorite hotel in Sydney, and cannot wait to go back there again! read more

I love this hotel, it's in the best location if you want to be close to the bridge and Sydney opera house. If you can get a room with the opera house, it's an awesome view to wake up to! Also it's conveniently located near the ferries that take you to the zoo for sightseeing and quays restaurant! The only downside - its at the edge of town so you may have to walk a while to get downtown. We were happy to walk since we've been eating way too much. My husband and I loved the Park Hyatt. We stayed there for one night when we were in Sydney in Feb 2019. The man who checked us in was great, and walked us to our room. When my husband told him we were celebrating my birthday, he even sent up a bottle of sparkling wine. The views from the lobby as well as their restaurant, the Dining Room, were SPECTACULAR. You can't get a better view of the Opera House. The view from our room, however, left something to be desired. We looked out upon a large tree facing the street (room 208). We used a Hyatt free night award for our stay, so I suppose that was the reason we didn't get a better view, but if you are paying for a night at this hotel, I'd highly recommend making sure you get a view of the opera house. Even as a Globalist, we were not upgraded to a better room, unfortunately. The rest of the room was great--walk in closet, huge marble bathroom, and my favorite scented toiletries: Bergamote. We also had a handwritten note from the manager, as well as some chocolates, which was a nice touch. We went down for breakfast the next morning, and I was surprised to be told that breakfast was not included after providing my room number. I'm a Globalist with Hyatt, and was told upon check in that breakfast would be complimentary. I explained this to the host, and he double checked with the front desk, and confirmed that I was correct. We ate our breakfast (they have a fantastic spread, plus you can order one item off the a la crate menu), and I signed a bill for $0 before adding a tip. Later that day, I got my full folio emailed to me, showing a charge for $95 for breakfast. I was pretty upset given that I had already spoken with the host, who had supposedly resolved the issue before we were seated. When I called the Park Hyatt, they were able to reverse the charges with no problem. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this hotel--it's a fantastic location with amazing views--just make sure to double check your bill. read more

I love this hotel. Very convenient location. Walking distance to Circular Quay and the Opera House. And OMG so spacious. You could park a family of 10 in that room. It also has a japanese toilet that washes your butt. The bathroom features both a tub and a showering area. My babes and i were celebrating our 10th anniversary together and the hotel manager left us a bottle of very nice champagne for us, complimentary. What a nice touch! A 5 star hotel! My stay here was just perfect. The staff here is all top notch. We arrived early in the morning and the staff was able to store our luggage away as our room wasn't ready yet. We sent sight seeing and came back to the hotel to find that our room was available before the check in time. We were informed that our luggage was also in the room already. The city view room we had was amazing. The balcony lead out to the view. It was part city and part harbor, with the Sydney Opera House in plain view. What a glorious site. Yet the room was also a stunner. The washroom had two sinks for his and her. There's a rain shower and a large bathtub. The toilet was in a separate are of the room. Inside was a Japanese toilet. What a surprise. The king size bed was nice an comfy. A nice touch from the staff was the Kakawa chocolate bar. Yum. Another nice touch was from the manager, who sent us a bottle of champagne to our room for celebrating our anniversary. Classy, very classy. The hotel pool is on the roof and you have a beautiful view of the Sydney. We both enjoyed a short leisurely swim after a long day soaking in the beautiful view. I love this hotel! read more

Having worked with 2 poms on this particular job who had come to Sydney on secondment and just never gone home, I decided to let them indulge in a bit of their own culture and try the High Tea @ Park Hyatt Hotel. I'm quite picky with my macaron's and so was a bit disappointed with the ones here as they didn't have properly formed feet nor were evenly filled. The rest of them were quite average. The scones were soft and warm with thick clotted cream to dollop on top. We enjoyed the scones so much we ordered six more but were unable to finish them. Clearly our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. In terms of beverages there are over 10 types tea to choose from or you can get coffee which can be refilled upon request SERVICE Service was a bit slow when we went. It took us quite some time to flag down a waiter to order our food which was frustrating. However once ordered we didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive. VERDICT High Tea here has a more modern feel about it. Whilst I wouldn't say the food is fabulous the fantastic view directly opposite the Opera House makes up for this. Stayed here for a week long trip a while back. I forgot to write my review. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the views from the hotel and some rooms are beautiful. I didn't have a great experience staying here. I had to change my room due to the toilet not working. It took almost 2 hours before I was able to change rooms-- the change in rooms also gave me a crappy view. No more water.. this time I was able to see the homeless looking man asleep in the park. I asked for a converter-- I didn't get one until 2 days later. It was a heavy old thing but it worked. Beds were nice, sheets were comfy. Prices for the food inside the hotel restaurants were really pricy, but then again, I'm not from the area so I don't know what I should have expected. read more

It far exceeded my expectations. The front desk led us up to our room and showed us all the inns and outs of the hotel and our room. We had a fantastic view of the harbor and the opera house. The concierge gave us great recommendations for dinner and drinks so that we could have a fun date night and all of the suggestions were amazing. It's about a 10-15 mins walk to city center or a 6 mins cab ride for about a$10-12. There aren't many good restaurants near it. Pool on rooftop is small but rarely get crowded, the gym on L3 is small as well but adequate and never crowded too. If you are into running, it's a good run to opera house and then the botanical garden behind it. They have a guided run sometimes in the morning and yoga every Thursday morning. read more

We arrived early in the morning off of a 20+ hours journey--tired and ready to be in one place. We were warmly welcomed at the Park Hyatt, and immediately told that "of course your room is ready for you!" That was so lovely to hear, and there's no "of course" expected here; it was barely 8am. We were escorted to the room by a manager, who showed us into a spacious king with the most commanding view of Jorn Utzon's Opera House. Spectacular. The Nespresso machine and fresh fruit platter were excellent touches. Everything is handled with speed and grace, from newspaper requests, to restaurant reservations, to suggestions about what to see and do. The concierges all politely recommend you away from touristy activities and make wonderful suggestions of things and places they enjoy doing and seeing. That's really the perfect kind of concierge. When we asked if the rooftop jacuzzi could be made warmer--it was a tad lukewarm for the winter months--it happened immediately. Breakfast in the dining room is elegant and comprehensive; the service has been impeccable from start to finish. The buffet is well appointed and the smoked salmon quite literally melts in your mouth. The poached eggs were so elegantly prepared we were amazed at the skills of the chef; and don't miss the steamed spinach served at breakfast--perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned. The gym is beautifully appointed, replete with all the machines you'd expect, plus fresh fruit and chilled water bottles. After a hard workout, the steam room rejuvenated us through and through. All in all, our stay at the Park Hyatt Sydney has been, quite literally perfect. Perfect, that is, except for the fact we must leave soon. We'll be back, without question. read more

So so happy with our stay. This is truly as good as it gets. We stayed 4 nights in November 2015 and could have easily lived here forever. Room is spacious, well-styled and clean. Bathroom had every amenity you could need, including a heated toliet seat cover. We had a balcony room and the view could NOT be beat. There can't be a better view of the opera house in all of Sydney. Breakfast is worth every penny. The spread is large, including arrays of breads, meat, cheeses and typical American breakfast items like bacon and eggs. We did high tea as well and really enjoyed the perfect view paired with the array of items. The pool is intimate, but loud with the Sydney Harbour Bridge immediately adjacent.. but that's hardly a complaint considering the view from here as well (you can not see the Opera House from inside the pool, fyi, but you can on the deck). Location is also key.. or should I say 'quay', ha! While cruise ships can block the view of the city (never the opera house), this area is the place to be. The Rocks is a unique area filled with tons of entertainment and dining and it is easy walking distance to the train station from the airport. I wouldn't recommend staying anywhere else in Sydney if you can afford it. read more

I stayed here for 3 nights between 8/28 to 8/30/15 for leisure using points and rewards. I was really excited since it was my first time in Sydney, and the Park Hyatt Sydney is one of the few category 7's in the Hyatt family and is an icon in the city. My flight arrived in Sydney really early in the morning and I wasn't expecting my room to be available. The lady at the front desk was very friendly, and to my surprise she let me check into my room at 9am. I couldn't thank her enough since I was in need of a shower after a 16 hour flight from Dallas. The room was very modern, spacious, and faced the harbour with a partial view to the Opera House. A few moments after I settled in the room, house keeping came and brought over a lush and soft bathrobe. So far everything was above expectations!!!! And it ended there. For the next 3 days, as I went in and out of the hotel due to the hectic touristy schedule, the hotel staff whether it be the reception desk, the concierge, the valet, and even house keeping, not one greetings nor smile was given or seen. I don't know how they pride themselves to be a 5 star hotel and at the top of the hyatt category, i was not impressed by the snooty atmosphere one bit (except for the 1st day when I'd just arrived). On my last night, after trekking 30,000 steps around town during the day, I was exhausted and decided to take a bath. Everything was fine and dandy until i unplug the bathtub. Some algae looking thing started to float out of the drainage in the shower area and it started to get a bit over floated. It was really late at night and I didn't want to deal with the hassle, so i put the plug back in the tub, the water in the shower area eventually subsided. I left to do the Bondi/Coogee walk early in the morning the next day and checked out around noon. I should've said something to the hotel when i checked out..... however i didn't want to make a big deal out of it and figured since i was leaving anywayz, all they could do is apologize. What good would an apology do. In hindsight, it's more about upholding this place to their snooty standards, and i should not have let it slide. Would i ever pay to stay at this place? Absolutely not. (Side note: My overall rating is based on the location of this property and the room comfort level. Even though there was a hiccup over the bathtub incident, it occurred at the end of my stay so I did take that into consideration. I had minimal interactions with the hotel staff so couldn't say the service was poor. I just wasn't impressed by the overall friendliness of the staff especially being a top tier hotel). read more

I ate at the Dining Room at the Park Hyatt for lunch. It has a lovely view over the bay if you are seated at the window. I ordered the crab entree, cobia fish for main and the macha tea cake with pannacotta dessert. The crab was very sparingly strung across the plate with a light salad. It tasted fresh and was my favourite of the 3 dishes ordered. The cobia was dry and tasted overcooked, however the sauce drizzled over the plate was full of flavour. The pannacotta had an odd flavour and I felt that there was too much focus on it looking nice on the plate and not enough on the actual taste. The tea cake was quite dry and sauce didn't seem to match with the food. I always finish desserts, however this one I left as I didn't enjoy it at all. In addition, the waitress had taken our jackets after we were seated and then forgot to bring them back as we left. We had left the restaurant before we remembered them and went back inside. Definitely not worth the price paid even for the view. read more

The Park Hyatt was recommended to us by a travel agent during our Australian adventure. Upon arriving we waiting 5 hours for our room to be ready. We checked up on the rooms several times and heard different responses each time. First, they were doing the "final check" on the room and then over a hour and a half later they still had not contacted us. I was incredibly upset and voiced this to the staff. They wanted to "take care of our transportation to dinner" to remedy the situation however we had all of our travel arrangement taken care of before hand. I told them that after waiting for 5 hours, I would like something more than a ride to dinner. Tim, who is one of the managers got in contact with me and was able to take care of 2 massages in order to make up for the 5 hour wait. Other than the wait the hotel is phenomenal. This is the one of the most luxurious places you can stay in Sydney and the views are one of a kind. You have a unobstructed view of the Opera House and you are walking distance to many great restaurants. Due to Tim's professionalism and ability to compensate for the inconvenience I left the hotel feeling great about our stay. I would highly recommend the Park Hyatt and hope that my initial experience was just a random occurrence. read more

This review for the dining room only! Went here for a team christmas lunch. The view is hard to beat, and booking online was a breeze, and they seated us in a great area as per request without mentioning it which was great. The service was a little hit and miss in general, but definitely below Park Hyatt standards. Just forgetting a few things, or looking very confused at pretty simple requests. The menu is limited, its structured in a 1/2/3 course option, with maybe about 5-6 choices for main and entree. The food averaged out to be good, my entree was ok, but the goats curd gnocchi was outstanding. The prices are quite reasonable though, and probably more affordable than you'd expect, but perhaps because of the set menu situation. I was fortunate enough to be a guest in residence at this incredible establishment, and I can not sing its praises enough. The butlers were always attentive, the room had the most spectacular view of the Opera House, and the service was invisible but ever-present. No request was too much, and the concierge was able to get tables at virtually any restaurant in town with almost no advance notice. There are just some places who go beyond clever marketing, and make you feel like an old friend from the moment you step through their doors. If you want to live in the lap of luxury for a couple days then check into the Park Hyatt. From top to bottom the service was impeccable and is the gold standard for hotels imo. The moment you check in you're greeted with a thousand and one smiles from the employees, and the cool thing was that they definitely aren't those forced smiles you see from many uptight hotels, they felt genuine. Throughout our stay the service continued to be exceptional. For example, we arrived with no itinerary but with lots of things we knew we wanted to do. We submited this barrage of requests to the concierge and within an hour, he had us all booked up for the duration of our stay, all while keeping that smile on his face. He even went the extra mile to call ahead to notify each place of my height (7'2) and arranged for special accommodations to ensure that I had suffecient leg room wherever we went. As a man that travels for his profession, I have to say the service is what makes or breaks an experience and this was one of the most attentive staff I've seen. With that being said, the rest of the experience did not disappoint either. The rooms were very well appointed and the unobstructed view of the Opera House was picturesque and well worth the cost that makes this hotel more expensive than the other 5 star hotels in Sydney. We had a deluxe opera room and it felt decently spacious, but I think would've felt cramped if we had gone for the smaller one. I really liked the layout of the room, which was an open floor plan with a powder room separate from the main bathroom for privacy, and a sliding door between the tub and main room that opened up the space when left open. I'm assuming the intent here was so that you could take a bath or shower while still appreciating that view, but I liked it for how it opened the room up and made it feel more spacious. The interior was clean and contemporary, yet warm and very welcoming. The bed was very comfortable and could fit my seven foot frame and my wife as well. Room service has a variety of options, which is great because with the jet lag sometimes we didn't feel like leaving the room. They even have a jet lag smoothie on the menu, as well as many other juices. The breakfast buffet was a great spread and if you weren't satisfied with that, there were many other things that you could order off the menu. My wife said the only possible downside to the room would be the hotels movie on demand selection, and when that is literally your only complaint, you know you've found a 5 star hotel. I have never stayed at a Park Hyatt before and this was my first experience. Definitely a memorable experience and has convinced me to try to stay at more Park Hyatt's in the future. I hope that every other place is as detailed oriented as this establishment. Right when we got there, the staff at the round about parking area immediately came to the car doors and opened the doors for us and another person was already in the process of moving the luggage from the car to their dolly. They watched our stuff while we checked in and brought up the stuff to our room once everything was finalized. Check in was very easy and smooth. The potential room upgraded was already done and we got upgraded to "Guest in the residence". I believe this is the king bedroom with opera view and with 2 balconies. The room: The view was absolutely amazing!! The room also has 2 types of curtains (one being a shade type curtain and the other a black out curtain). They supplied plenty of complimentary water bottles and several pieces of chocolate. The towels were the extra long ones and they felt quite heavy. The robes were quite heavy as well. Definitely using a better product. The shower had the shower head and rain shower overhead. I loved using both. Unfortunately, you could not use both at the same time. There was a his and her sink and a separate room for the toilet. I wish that room had a plug so I could use the hair dryer there because I thought using the hair dryer would disturb the baby's sleep since the crib was near the bed. The automatic toilet was awesome. The seat was always warm =D I could not hear any outside ambient noise within the room. One cool thing was when you click on the private button, if a person on the outside tries to ring the doorbell, nothing happens inside the room. One detail I extremely liked was the crib. The crib came set up, with towels in it for the baby, a set of baby shampoos, and even a stuffed animal koala bear holding a baby koala (not sure if this was intentional or just luck =P) But we as parents absolutely loved it. Another thing was there was a flight of stairs to reach to our floor level and the stairs happened to be by the concierge desk and every time they saw us, they would always offer to help us carry the stroller up. About 50% of the time we took them up on their offer. It was a very nice gesture. We had complimentary breakfast and on the day of check out, we had to leave early and they were kind enough to still prepare out breakfast orders and allow us to take it with us. I just had to fill out a form but we thoroughly appreciated it. Side perk: I absolutely love their body lotion. Smells great!! On one of the days it rained and they were kind enough to let us borrow an umbrella. (this is true of most hotels) The dining room area is where we had our breakfast and in addition to the view, the food was excellent. Definitely a little pricey if you had to pay for it but you are sort of paying for the view. Overall, I would highly recommend this place. They know how to take care of family. read more
