If there was a 'six star' rating we would give it. We hosted a destination wedding at Gold Bar Campground along the Colorado River in September and had our dessert catered by Crystal's Cakes. We couldn't be happier with the results! From our initial contact through the planning and tasting all the way through the wedding they were AMAZING! In all seriousness, I'm not really a big cupcake fan, kind of thought the trend was over and would never have imagined having cupcakes at our wedding - these guys changed all of that. The cupcakes were incredible and the delivery and presentation were perfect. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to make and deliver cupcakes in the desert and have them arrive perfect and moist but somehow they did it. Dear Crystal's - thank you for being Moab's sweet-tooth satisfier. I love getting treats from you as your staff is consistently friendly and courteous even though it is apparent that I am a sweaty tourist partaking in the outdoor offerings. Your cupcakes are moist with great frosting, and the size is larger than expected... a good thing! Indeed, it is not hard to find street parking near your conveniently-located shop, at least in the fall and spring. The hordes of screaming children visiting your establishment can be off-putting, but hey, I understand they are the bulk of your cupcake and ice cream business. Thankfully there are benches outside for the non-parents to get away from the screeches, and you all must be saints for putting up with that noise for hours on end. I can tell that these parents themselves are exhausted from touring/hiking all day with their little ones, so your shop is a haven for us all. Cupcake a la mode - just do it. The ice cream is delicious...the cupcakes are just ok...but when they're together

The service here is wonderful. We actually came here twice, first for ice cream then came back for cupcakes. The employees are friendly and extremely helpful! This will become a regular stop for us when we come to play in Moab. The ice cream is delicious and they definitely don't skip on the serving sizes but they're also not so big that you'll never be able to finish your ice cream. The frosting for the cupcakes is absolutely heavenly. I had a yellow cupcake with fudge and also tried the red velvet. Both were delicious, however the actual cakes tasted like box mixes. (I bake a LOT though so I may be overly picky.) The cakes seemed to be more of a vessel for the amazing frosting which was perfectly ok with me. It would look really bad if I just walked around stuffing frosting into my face! read more

I have a severe gluten allergy went here recently with two of my friends who have celiac (autoimmune gluten allergy) and a tree-nut allergy and the workers were very accommodating! My sons and I were out just checking places out and stopped in here to check out their selections, we literally didn't have any money so we were just window shopping. But my oldest son found and ice cream treat he really wanted he was so sad when I explained we didn't have any money right now he didn't throw a fit and was just sad as we started to walk out and the lady behind the counter asked if she could buy it for him and I said that was fine. Went here after dinner with the kids. Not sure what to say, never had to write a bad review... The staff was unfriendly, almost insulted when I dared to asked what is in their creations. Then we order and got the worst ice cream I can remember eating. The taste was completely artificial. I can accept this with the bubble gum ice cream my daughter choose but not with the others we had. First time I my son would not finish his beloved strawberry ice cream... Terrible cupcake! I got the vanilla cupcake w/chocolate frosting (it was the only flavor left-boring!). I make a damn good buttercream, so I can be quite discerning. This was awful. I'm not sure if it had crisco in it, or some chemical frosting, but it was similar to the canned stuff from the grocery store. The cake itself tasted like a grocery store cupcake. The texture was spongy (which secretly I kind of like), but it tasted store bought. Too bad, I love cake, just not this cake! read more

It's a good place and a friendly atmosphere. The lime sorbet was good. The cup cakes were fantastic. They use Farr brand ice cream.
