They have a bunch of seating upstairs. You order at the counter, and then pick it up before getting seated. I got the crepe de marrones (which is a chestnut filling) and added fresh strawberries to it. The crepe was thick and chewy and slightly sticky, but really fresh! I don't leave many one or two star reviews but this seems right. The gentleman running the business were very pleasant hence the second star. The food was not so good. There is very little seasoning in the food and in the upstairs seating area there no condiments to fix the very bland food. Everything is served on flimsy paper plates and the crepes stick to the plates. They serve the food with a plastic knife and a wooden fork that are basically useless. The crepes are rubbery which poses a problem because the fork and the knife can't cut the crepe. There was a line out the door when we left. I can't imagine why. Atmosphere: Located near the Sainte Chapelle, Notre Dame, and Shakespeare and Company, Creperie Genia is a cozy creperie with seating upstairs overlooking a street of cafes and shops. There was even a nice cat taking a nap by the window sill! Service: As there was no line, we were served promptly and were able to find seating upstairs. Food: We ordered the egg and ham crepe and the strawberry and nutella crepe. The egg and ham crepe was on the drier side, and the ingredients seemed to be mediocre in quality (the ham came from a Tupperware). The strawberry and nutella crepe tasted like a generic sweet crepe. However, we appreciated the crepes not being too heavy or overly filled. Overall: We were drawn to Creperie Genia due to its positive reviews, but we weren't absolutely blown away by the taste of our crepes. Not a huge fan of the crepes here but I am a fan of the price. This is one of the first places in Paris that it is cheaper to take away the crepe than to eat it there. Super cheap and super good. Came here because of yelp for the crepes (2 times). The 1st time we ordered just crepes about 6 or 7 euros and the 2nd time we were so hungry that we ordered hotdogs (au gratine double) and crepes the whole order cost $11.50 with waters. Great, cheap crepes! Don't be fooled by the numerous places around that have more expensive crepes (some even pre-made, why?!) This little mom n pop hole in the wall is the place to go for your crepe fix any time. The crepes are made right in front of you by the swift and skilled owner. Just make sure everyone in your party is getting something to eat or they won't let you sit in their tiny seating areas upstairs or downstairs. We came here by chance on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was very cold due to the large garage door being opened. Everyone had on jackets inside the restaurant. The waitress was slow to greet and not very hospitable. We muddled through it and ordered as she avoided interacting with us to hang out at the bar. The bar patrons all seemed to be getting good service. Not the dining room. The food was good to fair. Just not worth returning for. The fried PBJ was pretty darn good however...and big enough for four. The Mac and cheese was good but not special at all. My flatbread was a bit cold. We didn't have cocktails.
