I'd like to share some kind comments about 2 of your employees who just treated us like we were the only customers they had to help. They were so helpful and friendly from the moment we walked in. Susie Was working on the inside, welcoming us as we walked through the door, and Adrian was such a helpful mechanic outside who came quickly to see how he could also help. We shared we had a reunion the next day that has been planned for a year with over 100 of my family members to attend. We were so concerned, we may not make the deadline as we drove across the entire country. They were so helpful and and caring and extremely valued team members with your company, that I wanted you all to know how wonderful they are when you are not watching and they are out there just doing their same wonderful best to each customer who walks through your door. They both deserve recognition for their beautiful work. They do every day with your company. I could tell in their very caring demeanor, that this is how they treat each customer who has chosen your business to complete service on their vehicle. my husband and I were so appreciative of their commitment to excellence to help us get out the door quickly so we could be on the road as we needed to reach our final destination of Florida. I trust this garage. They saved me behind and didn't charge and arm and a leg. Men with integrity and a work ethic to be proud of. I was passing through the mountains - had a catastrophic bearing failure on my commercial vehicle - within 4 hours I was back on the road. These guys ARE INCREDIBLE. They had me by the short and curlies and could have raked me over the coals - but they fixed my truck IMMEDIATELY - and didn't charge an arm and a leg. I'd be willing to drive the 100 miles out of the way just to have this garage service my vehicles. 5 stars to all involved. read more

My son drove over some rough roads and knocked the engine splash shield loose on his car. Not too long after, his transmission went out. We took it to Monteagle Tire and they told us it was the clutch. We were a little surprised, because we had replaced the clutch only a few years ago, but we took their word for it and paid $1300. It drove home rougher than ever and when we got home, we saw that the splash shield was gone completely. We took it back in to give them a chance to fix their mistake, only to be told the problem was now the manifold, and it would cost another $200. We weren't crazy about this, but if that's what it cost to fix the problem, okay. Then they called back and said, "Oh no, it won't be another $200 it will be $2000." At this point we said, "You know what? Just give us the car back." They said they couldn't do that because they'd already taken it apart, and it would cost $350 to put it back together. Long story short it costs us another $350 just to get our (still broken) car back -- don't ever go here or let anyone you know go here!!!! Oh and they never did replace the splash shield. read more

My Alternator in my car went out as I was driving up the the mountain. I live bout a hour away. I called that morning and they had everything handled. The tow and making sure it was it was my alternator. Very nice and friendly staff. Nice atmosphere and waiting room is nice. I recommend this place for sure. read more

I would not give one single star if I could. I called the company on a Monday and they told me they were going to pick up the car from the tow company on Tuesday. But they never did. So on Wednesday, I called again asking if they have picked up the car yet. The guy called Chris kept telling me that they sent people to get the car and they are on the way back. He keeps lying to me until I told him that I found another shop. Then, he said he was sick to deal with me. I do not like the way they treat their customers. If you can't get it done, DON'T MAKE PROMISES THEN. I wasted time and money because of this guy Chris. I now regret so much about choosing this shop instead of other ones. read more

This place is amazing! My boyfriend's car broke down on the way up to Nashville Labor Day weekend, and basically nowhere was open or willing to help. He called the 24 hour hotline, and Philip came in that Saturday to help us out even though the shop was technically closed. He quickly figured out what was wrong with the car, and while he could've just told us to get it towed to Nashville to somewhere that was actually open, he was SO gracious and decided to fix it for us. He was very diligent, and the repair actually took a lot less time than we thought it would. Thanks to him, we were able to make it to Nashville in time for our event. This place is an abomination of an establishment. They have been putting off my car for two weeks now on a job that takes AT THE MAXIMUM 12 hours (they're words, not mine). They have been declining my calls and have been not helpful at all from a customer service standpoint, and have been pushing back the date that I will get it back all week now. First, they said last Friday, then they said Tuesday, then today, and now they're saying it wont be ready until Monday. And to top it all off, they're charging me full markup. Do your job in a timely manner and at least try to make it seem like you somewhat care about your customers. read more

My mom and I were renting a UHaul from here and came to find out, something was wrong with our car's malfunction box so the break lights wouldn't work on the UHaul. The owner Avery and his crew did whatever they could to ensure we left with 100% satisfaction and working lights. Mind you, this was also on a FRIDAY night, and they went over their closing hours, just to make sure we left with working lights to ensure we'd have a safe drive home all the way to New York. On a local recommendation, I went to this shop - and referred others as well. Over a month ago, I dropped the car off to have a rear seal replaced. I live in Nashville, and spend weekends on the Mountain. All appeared to be fine, then within a week - the issue recurred (oil leaking from the engine, whiffs of burning smell). I had to fight with them, fight with their "warranty program" (who they hung up on when contacted!), and was ASSURED that the car would be fixed, free of charge. That I was the only one on the schedule that day - and I had to have my car on Friday to return back to Nashville. I had to physically show up in the shop to get an answer, after getting repeated runarounds by the shop staff and warranty company. The owner swore up and down it would be taken care of, within one day, as it required 5 hours of labor to drop the engine and get to the issue. He even showed me their office calendar to prove I was the only one scheduled, since they had been slow with only 2 techs available to work. If you thought this ends well - you're dead wrong. I get a call on Friday, October 2nd at 4pm (they are open 8a -5p; M-F), that they will not finish the car on time. They don't open up again until Monday morning. The one bright spot is that they have an employee who felt bad and actually LOANED ME HIS CAR - shout out, Nissan Armada! - to get back to Nashville. I cancelled my work appointments for Monday and did a turnaround drive back to Monteagle the next morning with my young daughter. They call at 10ish, apparently the car is ready. The "new" part they installed a few weeks ago basically disintegrated in a very short amount of time - Uh huh, ok... I get 4 minutes from the shop, and it's rattling loudly when I accelerate. I call them, they ask me to return. They begrudgingly agree to "give it a look" again. I sit outside on a bench and observe two techs whine loudly and gesture about seeing the car again. Turns out, when they re-fixed the last busted repair, they quite obviously damaged a donut gasket. You read that correctly - They screwed up the repair initially, then damaged a different part when they tried to repair their screwup. They admitted this to me in the waiting room. A tech popped into the waiting room, and told me they could fix it, but it would take 2 hours. Another two hours, after me chasing them down, giving them a day and a half to re-repair their issue - and then I need to accomodate them further for another issue they caused. Oh, and I shouldn't worry - because the donut gasket "is just annoying, and doesn't affect how it drives". I told them to just bring the car around, as I was done and had reached my limit with this business. The tech cheerfully told me to call them when I was ready to fix it. I get to take it to a real mechanic in Nashville this week - who just laughed and shook his head when I told him about the experience. Apparently, his shop has fixed cars damaged by them before, and told me to stay away from the shop. Buyer beware - you can do better. And I hope for people on the Mountain that they can too. Most people don't have the time/money to be screwed by poor service and busted repairs. I rode back to Nashville with a 7-yr old in a rattling car. Total negligence and no remorse for the issue(s) they directly caused. Unbelievable. I will be sharing my experience widely - I was more than patient, understanding and flexible. They did the repair incorrectly, and I wanted to give them the chance to redeem themselves. Big mistake on my part. There are at least two other places in town to take your vehicle - don't make the mistake that I did. Slow, understaffed, unprofessional and unskilled - this is an early 2000s Yukon, with no computerization - not rocket science. BONUS: I got the pleasure of hearing them huff around and make fun of me while I watched. Moral: "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me... fool me three times, you must have gone to Monteagle Tire & Auto!" read more

These guys are AWESOME. They're quick and efficient. We needed a turbo replaced on our Explorer that we use everyday and they had the turbo ordered and put in within a week. Truth is not told....rather it is best self discovered. This is my true story... I evacuated my beach home in Florida as a Cat 5 Hurricane Irma approached loading up my van with all the important irreplaceable items in my life.... Plus 3 kayaks on my trailer and headed for the hills of Tennessee. Headed home to face my disaster coming over Monteagle pass I stopped at the rest area and come out the bathroom to a huge steam smoke cloud billowing out my engine. I confess at this point I broke down myself... Why my life gotta be so hard? My beach house still standing but a mess need a new roof & window smashed by branch of grandfarher oak tree... One of last ones on island I live on Gulfcoast..split. Now I am stuck in middle of nowhere with broken down van...no AAA ...expired and not much money left. Walked from rest aera to next exit and found a unhelpful shop that only wanted to make a fortune on my misfourtune. So I called my Dad in tears to come rescue me. This was Saturday eve.... Nothing can be done till Monday... Monteagle Tire and Auto does not have a website and barely a web presemce. Dad was gonna have my van towed to Winchester .... But I argued we should at least stop and ask... I think they do auto repairs beyond tires ... Well they do. Had them go fetch my van....very busy place. Had to wait on part ..blew hose. Finally fixed ...owner of shop renewed my faith in humanity. 280.00 bill for tow and repair. Home now....nothing stolen out my van...had sentimental items mostly but also mac book pro and 1000s in camera gear. Said we checked it all over and you should now make it home no problem...which I did. These are simple country folks.... Honest... God loving...and I cant give them enough praise. Said he was having a website built... But has so much work backed up is afraid to get more business.. Good problem to have. They could of really bent me over...and raped me 10 different ways... But they didnt. Highly recommend. Obvious why guy has 5 star rating and reviews. Thank you so very very much... In closing Lord works in mysterious ways ...went back to my Uncles and helped him on few things... Wasnt time for me to leave. My son is a boarder at St. Andrews-Sewanee and is in 11th grade and can only drive on weekends with permission. He called me this week and said I have two lights on and I need to take it to the shop. I looked around on this site and found this place. Very reasonable and all he needed was an oil change/filter and some air in his tires. They checked everything out and I told him to put the guy on the phone when they were done because I always spend 100 bucks at oil change places. This place is a GOD-SEND! I was driving from Athens georgia to head back home to chicago and about 4 hours Into my drive my steering wheel locked up and my red battery light came on. My have a family owned auto repair shop... But 560 miles away in chicago so I looked on yelp got a hold of these guys and they knew exactly what it was. I figured it was something to do with my alternator, along with the belt that runs the power steering. They close at 5 I got here at 4:30 and it is already almost 6 and they are still here working on it. I'm so grateful and thankful for these hard working gentlemen. Most auto repair shops would just say they can't look at until tomorrow and if that was the case I would be SOL! Thanks guys, if I'm ever in Tennessee again and have car issues, I know where I'm going!! after an hour and 1/2 of working on it they just finished and only charged 88 dollars... They fixed the vehicle rather quickly but more importantly I feel their cost was very reasonable. They could have charged more considering are backs were against the wall....but they didn't.
