The course is in immaculate condition. It's like playing on a plush carpet. It had rained about 3 inches in the past few days, so there was some wet spots, but that is to be expected. Also, the rough is thick and leafy, so I lost a few balls I would likely have found any other time of the year. But, again, these are to be expected in mid-October. The course is laid out nicely and offers a challenge while not killing you in the process. The scenery was fantastic. You just can't beat autumn in New England! The staff was super friendly and helpful. Greenskeeping crew were very polite and respectful of the golfers. Price to walk mid-week was reasonable. read more

Not worth the outrageous prices to play, especially with the facilities under construction. A lot of leaves starting to collect in the rough, no crews blowing them off. Parking lot is in shambles. Looks like projects half completed from years ago. Some very scenic holes and a good New England style course. read more

Beautiful course in great shape but they let out groups every 9 minutes, just finished a round here in 6 hours and 15 minutes I will never play it again with any of my groups until they are letting groups off at a reasonable rate. Its outrageous to charge 90 dollars for a 6+ hour round at any course. I wouldn't recommend anyone playing at this rate its very unenjoyable. read more

Up visiting my parents (Dads Birthday) and heard this place is a decent track, so my Brother-in-law and I made an 11:45 tee time on a Saturday in the early Fall and were pleasantly surprised. Got there an hour early to hit balls only to find out that the range was closed due to recent heavy rains. No problem as they have a nice little chipping area as well as a nice putting green, so passing time was easy. The guy in the pro shop was not very welcoming and told us there were no carts available as the course was packed, so we patiently waited until approximately 10 minutes before our T-time before we got one. The other twosome that was supposed to be paired-up with us never showed, so they sent us out squeezed in between several foursomes. As it was busy, we knew we were in for a solid 5-hour round and that is exactly what it took to play. The course was in fact wet in certain areas (1, 16 & 18) and every sand trap was un-raked and wet but overall it played fair. The greens were soft, receptive and rolling true. Overall a very nice track which could us a little TLC (cart paths) and definitely on my short list of courses in the area. read more

This is a beautiful course that is well maintained and will challenge your game on the greens. It's scenic, with some holes set dramatically on steep hills overlooking the countryside. There's a lot of tall fescue that will eat you up if you hit a ball into it, which makes up for a lack of any real water hazards. There are a few small ponds but none that will give you trouble. The rough however will. The greens here are in excellent condition, but they are not easy. Multi-leveled, ridges, humps, and slopes will make putting a challenge if you are any distance beyond a few yards. Price is acceptable for the condition of the course and they have a beverage cart making rounds. The clubhouse was a bit weird, located down in basement with some musty carpet and a bit of a moldy smell. read more

As far as public courses go this is by far one of the upper tier locations. Both a driving range and putting greens are on site. The clubhouse is modest in size but new with a bar and TVs. The course has rolling fairways with fescue. 1:15 drive from the western suburbs of Boston and worth the trip if you want to play a course that is kept in good shape. read more

This course was redesigned not too long ago and I can only assume the clubhouse and practice facilities as well b/c they have it all. Grass range, putting green, chipping green with bunkers, and small bar with 3 big TVs. Food was great too. Turkey club was huge and the fries were delicious. The real pride of this place is the golf. Great links feel with fescue around the bunkers and firm and fast conditions on the greens. The location should prevent this place from getting too popular but if you're looking for a top 5 public course in the state this is it. Played in mid October, $65 with cart. read more

Hidden Gem! A spectacular course for only $52 ... Greens are in great shape and nice and quick. Fairways are well maintained and the layout is open enough that you don't go through three cases of balls. Any single digit handicap should play from the black tees. The blue tees are a bit short. I highly recommend this course, worth the drive from the Providence area! read more

Really enjoyable course with lots of elevation and unique looking holes. The greens were recently aerated but it didn't affect my putting. No complaints about the course but some of the cart paths made my back ache. Everyone here is wicked friendly. CTN is worth a trip when your in the area driving to Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun. read more

Gorgeous course, great layout and great value. Very well maintained. Clubhouse is very nice and food was fantastic. If the starter and clubhouse guys weren't such miserable jerks it would be a 5 star rating. Tip... If you don't like your job do something else. Don't treat the players like its a privilege to be served by you. Also, get the maintenance crew out at daybreak like every other course. We were hitting over grounds crew on every hole. read more

One of the top five public courses in the state (in my opinion behind only Richter Park, Great River and WIntonbury), CT National is a bit off the beaten path, or more accurately, "in the middle of nowhere" according to others in my foursome. That said, it's worth the drive. It's a scenic, well maintained layout with interesting elevation changes and mounding. The clubhouse houses a party room, small restaurant/bar and small pro shop. There's also nice practice areas, including a grass driving range (though we were mats only on our day of play in late fall), a putting green and chipping green with practice bunkers. Food is excellent though the menu selection is a bit limited. read more

Great course. Have not tried restaurant, just golf. Layout is fair and made for scoring. if you hit it bad it lets you know. If you're on target, it is rewarding. greens are some of the fastest I've played around. 2nd time here and I'm hooked. It may become my new home. Nice practice facilities!! Great golf course. Great value. Layout and tee's are set up for all skill levels. Conditions are always top notch. 19th hole offers good selection of beer, spirits and Food. Love the course. Get here about 4 times a year. Always in great condition and a challenging layout. You will hit every club in your bag over the course of 18 holes. With all this said, If I book a tee time, and there is no frost delay or any other sort of understandable delay, I would expect to tee off on time. Allowing the "Members" to just show up without a tee time, and insert 2 groups of them in front of the paying public that are holding tee times is not acceptable. I don't see this on your list of Member benefits. read more

CT National Golf Course is a highly recommended venue for a wedding. My husband and I were recently married there on April 26, 2014 and from start to finish we could not have been more pleased. If you are looking to have a wedding at a quiet location that is breathtaking, I would highly suggest here. I recently got married at CT National Golf Club on August 11, 2013. The staff was amazing, the bartender was very knowledgeable, and my "helper" for the day Devon was the sweetest most attentive boy ever! Let's start with the coordinator Jen, she also is very soft spoken, and pays attention to detail. She gets the job done, and made this experience so each easy for my husband and I. The grounds are so clean, and the greenery was utterly breathtaking for our pictures. I had mistakenly told my Justice of Peace the wrong time of my ceremony, and the golf club jumped right in and helped to meet our demands. I really can not say enough good things about this place. The food was so good, people who aren't big fans of seafood, licked their plate clean with the herb crusted cod. When we arrived they had mimosas and bagels and fruit for my bridal party and I. Towards the end of the event, they provided pizza and brownies, which was such a pleasant surprise. My guests are raving about our wedding, not only because it was filled with love; but the lasting impression CT National Golf club made, words can not explain. read more
