Been awhile since I've been to a cub foods. Usually a Costco, target, L&B type of guy. Went there today as I wanted a one stop shop for so beverages and cooking needs for New Year's Eve. The store is looking like it's finishing a remodel and looks a lot nicer than I remember. The staff were friendly and the aisles well organized and zoned. Found what I needed quickly and efficiently. Great trip and will be back. read more

I really miss living by this location. It's clean, has a friendly staff, is well stocked and things are easy to find. A nice change of pace from the University location. Love Cub's mailer coupons. The $5 and $10 off coupons are great and they have so many buy one get one deals which makes stocking up easy. Buy one, Freeze One. Plenty of parking with carts that are not all over the place in the parking lot. Would shop at this one if it were closer. read more

Really like this Cub compared to the others. Conveniently located off of Lexington and across the YMCA. this place is clean, well stocked, and its customers and employees are all very pleasant. I really like that they have a pretty good variety in the Asian section. They carry a lot of authentic brands that you find in Asian markets but not regular grocery stores like Trader Joe's or Target. I think the selection of Asian stuff here is better than other Cub locations. It's nice to pick up a few basics when I'm too lazy to make a trip to an Asian grocery store. Love also that they have a Redbox here. read more

This review is written in November, 2020. Customers need to protect themselves when shopping here. This store does not enforce the wearing of masks by pharmacists or by customers. Twice I've been shopping and picking up prescriptions and observed people not wearing masks. In addition one prescription I recently bought had instructions to the pharmacist to mix two powders BEFORE dispensing to the patient. After taking the prescription with just one of the powders included, I noticed the packet of the second powder, affixed to the prescription container, with, in large print, the instructions to the pharmacist. People make mistakes but pharmacists need to show respect for safety mandates and for instructions to themselves. After several decades as a Cub customer, I'm taking my business elsewhere. I agree with Amy here. This place is Great and seem to have a great management team and staff. It is hard to find people at times. I think the produce here is exceptional, the staff is always hard working and if I am not happy with something they are always willing to find me better product or offer a great suggestion. I have found that if there is bad produce here it is usually much worse across the street at Target or at Rainbow. The meat is much better than in the past and the Dairy employees are always fun. Niel has to be my favorite person in the store. read more

This cub always seemed bigger and better then the one that I used to go to especially for their Mexican and Asian food isle. There was always way more stuff then I can get at mine. However there must be a trend of poor training with cub. Like mine no one knows what is in the store or what they are stalking. I was at this store three weeks ago and bought some sweet potato glass noodles. I went today to get some more and I couldn't find them so I asked what looked to be a manager since he was not wearing the typical cub uniform but a "nicer" uniform, not that Any of them look great...anyway he was going to walk past the Asian isle and then didn't even know what side the Asian food was on, he was pointing at tortillas which is clearly not Asian food or noodles. He then looks at the shelf and says I don't see an open spot so we must not have them. Not willing to look in a system or find out even if they carry them. I asked if all cubs get rid of the same items at the same time and he started rambling about target stores do the same thing. I never said anything about target. Overall I didn't get what I wanted. Nor did I get an answer to my question from whom I'm pretty positive was the manager. How do you run a store if you don't even know the isles or the items in them? read more

There is a Super Target and a Trader Joe's close by. I suggest you go to either of these. My visit today was the last straw. I'm finally committing to Hy-Vee or ANY OTHER grocery store. Sure, it was the usual mediocre experience shopping the layout, and things improved greatly when a very nice associate in the meat department greeted me with with a "good morning" while I was simply browsing through the prepackaged selections. But the checkout experience, the terrible checkout experience. I was going to do self-checkout... I should have. Dar C., whoever she was, spoke to me in the most condescending way; in fact, a way I have never before experienced at any grocery store. And truthfully, I have no idea why. She was particularly angry when I asked for a coupon book? Seriously? Why is this a problem? And when I inquired about another coupon, she basically suggested I was an idiot for not reading the fine print. There are just too many options to get groceries in the area digitally or through interactions with much more respectful associates. I choose Hy-Vee and other small, friendly places. 24 hr shopping, clean, friendly service. This is one of the best cub stores in the twin cities. I love this store layout and variety.

I go to this Cubs often because I live nearby and I have always received poor customer service. Last night was probably my last straw. I went to get my WIC done and the lady named June, was very rude and condescending. She had came over to my cashier's register to scan in a check and my cashier must have been trying to help her figure it out because she turned and told her "I dont need your help." When I asked my original cashier, who was leaving, if they had any more formula in the back, she asked June to which she responded, "I don't know." My cashier left and June walked away from the register. Not once did she notify me she would be with me in a minute or apologize for leaving me unattended for a good 5 minutes. I was ready to pick up my things and walk out until another lady asked how many cans I needed and went to the back to grab them for me. June came back to ring me up. At this point, I was ready to get the hell out of there and drive over to Target so when she asked if it was okay to pay the difference of 12 cents, I politely said I just won't take it. She then said, while making a scene, "It's only 12 cents. You don't have 12 cents?" I don't care if she was having personal problems or just a bad day but as an employee that deals with customers daily, whether good or bad, its important to stay professional and polite. I wasn't going to stoop to her level but I definitely will be driving the extra mile to a different store from now on. read more

If you go to this location check for expiration dates, especially in their produce section, cheese, prepared salads, sandwiches and generally throughout the store. We have come home from shopping to find products have already expired multiple times. I've spoken with the manager about this and shown him that their entire prepared salads and sandwiches section had expired. I've seen this on more than one occasion. This is inexcusable. Also, they don't know how to stock shelves properly. In the coffee section they consistently stock Folgers coffee singles with the bottom of the box showing so you can't even see what the product is. This manager seems to have an attitude problem. read more

It is noon. I go to the deli to get chicken and sides. It is like some sort of time warp happens. There are not many people waiting but in general I can not seem to get out of there under 25 minutes. The staff will just casually do what they are doing when you step up to have them get you something. Eventually, they will respond 5-10 minutes later. I suspect at the end of the day there is a manager problem which need to be taken care of. I have had it, never again for lunch. I would rather pay a 1.50 more and get something within 10 minutes. read more

This is a review for the Cub foods liquor store. I stopped there recently because I was out of beer at the house. I grabbed a 12 pack of both Bud and Miller Lite. One for me, one for the girlfriend. As I'm walking up to the counter with my case of beer, the employee that was working behind the counter went to go show a customer where something was at. No problem, there was another employee that was there, all he had to do was walk around to behind the counter to check me out. However, before he could even acknowledge my presence, he had to finish up with some personal hygiene, i.e., trimming his fingernails. I sh*t you not. He was cutting his nails in the middle of the store, letting the clippings fall where they may. It probably wasn't totally his fault, I'm sure there's nothing in the employee handbook that refers to the proper time and place for cutting your fingernails. read more
