I've never run across a more downright unfriendly, surly group of checkout employees ever. No eye contact, no greeting, no "thank you." Just rude. The baggers are the same... very unprofessional, singing to themselves, reading labels on food causing backups, stopping to talk to others, etc. They need more training on how to bag instead of just piling stuff into a bag on their sides. Horrible. No rhyme or reason on where to stand for ordering at the hot food counter. Order from over hot food? By chicken? Registers? They take orders from all over the place & not in order. Then stocking during high traffic times without any courtesy to the customer. They couldn't care less if they're in the way, as long as they're not inconvenienced. Only thing worth going for? Meat counter. IF you can get the butchers to serve you instead of standing around making small talk amongst themselves. read more

Jerry's is a really nice and clean grocery store. The sales flyers change weekly and they often have free items each week via their app! I was excited to learn you can mail items from here at the customer service desk. The employee didn't let me mail a package that the label couldn't fit on saying that they can't wrap the label around the box, this is incorrect as the USPS does this for me all the time with no issues and I've been doing this for years with other packages. Appears they aren't trained well on what the USPS does allow. Staff here are helpful and will gladly walk you to an item you're looking for as I've needed help finding items as still getting used the layout. Plenty of parking out front but can get very busy and sometimes difficult to exit when cars get backed up. read more

You may be able to find just about everything you need in the world in the Southdale area, but Edina is a pretty big town. If you are anywhere north of 62, it can be tough to find a place where you can get things - a cheap breakfast, groceries, flowers, donuts, something to bring for a birthday party or cookout. Enter Jerry's. I come here quite a lot for all of the above reasons. On our way somewhere, "oh we need to get...." is followed by, "let's go to Jerry's". It is not the cheapest, it doesn't have a lot of the brands I buy regulalry, but it always is there in a pinch with some solution. The staff here are great, too. One time, I was wandering with a lost look on my face and a staff member said, "hey do you need some help?" and then proceeded to dig something out of the back for me. That was awesome. read more

It's been way too long since I have sent Jerry's some love. They deserve every bit of it! This is my favorite grocery store in the area for a whole host of reasons, chief among them the awesome selection and service. This well-lit, well-organized store has an amazing selection in every department, from gorgeous produce, including seasonal delights like persimmons, to an awesome bakery (truly beautiful treats in the case) to an excellent selection of cheeses to a spice department that will make your favorite cook smile. You can always find great deals on both staples and special ingredients thanks to regular sales, so it's worth cruising the aisles even when you came in with a list. Awesome 1st experience! Very clean store, with helpful employees, amazing selection of meats, fish, marinades, produce, take home or eat in food, even has sushi , and a Starbucks. It's more upscale than a Cub or Target, but not higher priced end like a Kowalaki's. They offer a drive up to help you easily load groceries instead of pushing your cart to the car. The best of the best when it comes to grocery stores. From the fantastic bakery department, to hot food, to meats and fish to produce and more -- you're sure to find what you are looking for! We recently stopped in to pickup a few things for a special birthday celebration. Our shopping experience was nice until we had to interact with the self check out attendant. Immediately out experience turned horrible. Our cashier was attempting to get the attention of the self checkout attendant (Pamela) for assistance and she was blatantly ignoring him, multiple times in a row just turning away and ignoring. It got very awkward and tense. Later in our visit I had to go up to try to get help from that same woman and was met with the worst possible attitude and downright disrespect. I get there are bad days but this is very sad to see from an upscale establishment. Our visit was ruined and we felt like we should have skipped shopping here. I don't go here often, but when I do it's always enjoyable! Jerry's is more similar to Hyvee or Lund's - more upscale than you typical cheap grocery store like Aldi or Cub, but not quite as upscale as a Kowalski's. When I'm in the area, I'll sometimes pop in to pick up stuff! The highlight of Jerry's is their hot food section - they've got sushi and other ready-made takeout options (or eat in in their seating area). They also have a fish and meat market for fresh protein to pick up. It's a great selection and quality! The rest of the store is pretty standard grocery stuff, but a tad higher on prices than what I'm used to. I'd say their fresh produce is above average. Customer service in the bakery is frightful. They require precisely 48 hours notice for a birthday cake order. On two separate occasions, the person I spoke to on the phone is rude and condescending, saying that if I want a birthday cake in two days it "has to be simple" because "it's the weekend and we're really busy". Ok, but what's "simple"? All I wanted were some flowers and "Happy Birthday". And asking for it in 47 hours produced a begrudging sigh and "I guess I can do that." Okay, so If Lund's and Cub Foods had a baby = it would be named Jerry. Jerry's Food is your neighborhood grocery store trying to be a little more upscale. You won't find Aldi's prices or Walmart level markdown on milk. In the 'dining area' - it's a place you'll see the suburban high schoolers trying to change the scenery as they do online high school and the seniors flocking for daily deli deal hot items. With that said - the deli deals are pretty good and I enjoy the desserts ... it shows with my winter quarantine weight. You can shop cheaper if really needed but you have to use coupons and really know what you're looking for. I don't have any gripes about Jerry's, it's a 'safe' place to shop, teenagers will bag your groceries, and you'll enjoy the salad bar and side items. Love Jerry's! The grocery store itself is great. But we've been coming to the little deli/cafe here for easy dinners lately after baseball games or school events. So much faster than cooking and you can't beat the prices! I'm the biggest fan of the salad bar. You can make the best salad for only $5! I've tried a variety of soups as well. The kid likes getting chicken tenders with mac & cheese. My partner enjoys the sandwiches, and last night the Korean bbq pizza. The JoJo potatoes are always a hit, too. And you can even dine by the fireplace. My new favorite hidden gem. read more

The fact that the restaurant inside Jerry's supermarket in Edina is listed in Yelp as "Jerry's Foods" and in Trip Advisor as "Jerry's Enterprises Incorporated" is too bad, but telling. Perhaps people don't expect a restaurant inside a supermarket to be very good. I beg to differ. My experience with restaurants inside Lunds and Byerly's and, I'm told, Hy-Vee, never disappoint. Nor should they; after all, these upsale grocery stores have acess to the very same quality ingredients they sell. So, when we were trying to decide where to get a bite after a long day, one of our party suggested "Jerry's". I'm glad we did. The restaurant offers a huge salad bar, sushi, hot entrés, pizza, burgers, tacos, grilled chicken, pot pies and a wide variety of sides. And, from our experience, all good and very reasonably priced. The chicken pot pie is jammed full of huge chunks of chicken along with peas, carrots and other vegies in a tasty sauce. It's about 7" in diameter and for $6.95, a bargain. The 2 fish taos are huge and filled with large portions of fish. The Asian turkey burger is enormous and tasty. The eating area is large and airy, and the corner fireplace hit the spot on the chilly day we were there. Jerry's is an incredible value. You will not leave hungry. I would not hesitate to return. I would encurage Jerry to give his restaurant a proper name so people can find it easily in a Google search. read more

Visiting the city and needed something. Found Jerry's by luck... actually I was on my way to Walgreens next door, but decided to go to a local grocery store instead. Glad I did! I have to admit I was a little lost in the store. Not because it was huge, just because I'd never been there before. What I liked about Jerry's was its cleanliness, and what I especially liked was the friendliness of the staff! I was surprised that all of the employees (that I saw) were adults. Love this location. Unfortunately the one on 169 makes many errors not entering the promo of the day code or giving you a mini cup sold as large and confirmed THAT is the large one. So I drive the extra 10 minutes to get to this one location. Food is fresh, service is quick professional and everyone is perfectly trained. I purchased the corn bread and it was so delicious i ate 1/2 before I left the store. There is a large sitting area with a view on the parking. The parking was ample. Employees were very friendly. So I went in for a pound of bologna ( Don't laugh, someone you know LOVES the stuff) and ended up having breakfast...don't ask how it happened. I'm not exactly sure myself. Anyway Lesley at the Cafe counter was terrific...smiling, polite and helpful to this first-timer. I enjoyed some tasty, hot blueberry pancakes (with a glass of milk, of course) and enjoyed it all in a clean, bright setting. This is a very clean and well organized grocery store. But we had a gift card for $100 unused that didn't work initially, and we had to go to the customer service stand to resolve. We waited 40 minutes for a resolution and communication was very poor. We did end up getting $17 off of our transaction but it was handled very poorly so we are leaking with a sour taste in our mouths. read more

Their prices are nit the highest but this place is more for location, convenience, community, & the store has a dedicated sushi bar, an indoor Starbucks, a nice cafeteria with open fireplace, a decent salad bar and deli, and most any food item you need! The eatery is quite pleasant with the coffee shop and fireplace. Right beside Jerry's Hardware so that is very convenient. read more

Jerry's is an awesome grocery store that is about a mile away from our house and the service and selection is always top notch. The selection of groceries is priced a little higher than Cub or SuperTarget, but it is a family operation that goes for quality. They have great hours and seem like they are always open. They have roasted chickens right by the registers and have self checkout if you want to get in and out on a Sunday before a Vikings game. The seafood area is awesome with lots of fresh, unique fish selections and a great bakery. Off to the side is a post office area with papers and smokes if you want those. There is also a large produce section and a build your own salad bar and to the side of that is a small diner that seems like it is nice and cozy. A wonderful neighborhood grocery store. read more

I asked where I could find the item and he said "NOWHERE! They're not in season!" and then chuckled. Store in Edina is iffy. There are generally some expired items that they don't take off the shelves, the hot food area is comical at times since they seem to struggle with the most basic things. The deli staff usually puts on clean gloves but I've seen them doing stuff I'd call less than sanitary and then go right to handling cutting meat. The funniest part is they proudly lock up all NON alcoholic beer and demand you're 21 years old to buy it and won't sell outside liquor store hours. I get doing that for 3.2 beer but again NON alcoholic beer does not need to be locked up. read more

So I try not to shop here unless I'm short on time. The bakery counter has been one the biggest let downs. I needed something for Valentines Day and had no choice but to get it here. The usually empty bakery counter had 3 people behind it standing around casually. They saw me. I gave them time to finish the conversation. I was just happy to see someone actually there. A minute or 2 went by I realized they were just chit chatting. I stared the backs of their heads down to no avail. I had to resort to 'excuse me?'' One turns around and raises her eyebrows. Her way of saying Hi can I help you? O tell what I want she gets it hands it over, and turns right back around. Boom. I call that progress sadly. Also there is a new person at the CS counter. She is fantastic! About time! She smiles, says Hi how can I help you, listens and goes the extra mile. She double checked my letter to be sure it had enough postage. I wanted to hug her. I complimented her and thanked her over and over. I didn't get her name but a 60ish lady with cute short gray blonde hair and glasses. She actually acknowledged me when I walked by First time in 6 yrs anyone at that counter has Ever done that. I hope they can hang onto her. And another new face by the self check out A guy 30 something dark hair and extremely nice and top of things. I was shocked! He actually acknowledged me and said Have a nice night. I swear it's the very first time Anyone has said that to me!! The Butcher people are always nice. Check out crew need a lesson on how to say 'hi how are you and thank you and have a nice day. Samecwith the baggers they are taking after the more senior employees picking up their bad standoff-ish attitude. The pseudo manager gal with the long purple hair doesnt seem to be around anymore. Good move. If she moved any slower she'd be going backwards. Rude, dull, dead pan look, uninterested. No eye contact and never a greeting. I often wondered how in the world she ever made it to manager level if in fact got hired at all. Cashiers could use help with a smile now and then. Came here specifically because they are the only store in town that sells the brand of seasoning salt I needed (which, somewhat curiously, was not stocked in the spice aisle with the rest of the seasoning salt, but rather at the meat counter.) Overall, this store just seemed sad. A has been. It clearly used to be the prestigious local grocery store, until Lund's/Byerly's and Kowalskis took that honor. Now it seems dated. And empty (both in terms of customers and shelves.) Although convenient and close to my home, I only go here under special circumstances. The selection is limited to frozen foods, American cuisine, and junk food. The produce department is limited to the bare basics and doesn't taste very fresh. They have potatoes that are individually wrapped, which doesn't make sense! Doesn't have much that you could use for anything but American cuisine. Do not recommend doing all your shopping here, especially if you're looking to eat healthy and fresh. read more

Like Jerry's for the convenience and selection of foods. Mainly go there for the deli counter. But tonight was a fiasco with truly a witch at the counter. Hard to get service, asked me no questions, only made assumptions when actually I wanted to eat in at their nice dining area. Wasted time, energy, and packaging when I wanted food served on a plate. A great grocery store! Shelves are organized, perishables are fresh and the meat counter is on point. Did I mention their donuts are amazing? Apparently it's been this way for decades. I wish I'd have found this grocer sooner. My only knock is that the checkout lines can be long but that isn't always a bad sign... Jerry's won't let you down! read more
