Always the best service! Close to Target and one of the biggest and best Lunds stores!

It has been a while since I've reviewed Lunds and Byerlys. I'll cut right to the point: still love it. This is a grocery store that feels somehow like a bit more than a grocery store. I highly recommend a cruise around the perimeter, even if you don't necessarily need anything specific. You'll find lovely flowers and fun gifts, one of the best cheese departments in town, a bakery full of delicious and festive treats (don't miss their magnificent donuts!), a wealth of choices in the deli and hot bar, and a picture perfect produce department. The middle aisles aren't to be missed, either--amazing variety in all departments, and some harder-to-find ingredients, too. If you're a cook or baker, definitely check out the baking and spice sections. It's bright and clean, and the service is always excellent--it is a real treat to come in. read more

Ugh, what has happened to L&B? Does Tres even taste some of the crappy food that they sell now? If not he sure should be and that goes for the Kowalski's as well. Tried L&B holiday cookies. Yuk! They are full of atrificial junk and taste like it. Nothing like what they used to sell. Prime Reserve NY strip? No, it is tough, flavorless and eats like a cheap sirloin at best. The cookies are at best something that you could find at some discount store or maybe those are better. Very dissappointed after shopping there for decades. Their produce is probably the best is the metro, some of the bakery items are ok. Just another example of the "shitification" of what used to be good. read more

Very nice store with great selections! I would say it's a little pricier than your every day grocery, but I think you're paying for the experience of a nice clean store with products actually on the shelves. My family was in town for the week and we tried many different store versions of canned soups, breads, and snacks, and we were satisfied with everything. Even their store brand frozen dinners were great. read more

This is for all Lunds and Byerlys. Your new site is awful. I have ordered food from Lund's since before COVID hit. With the new site, I can't add items to my cart from the ad. It's more time-consuming because if I click on something to put in my cart it goes to a list - where I need to copy and paste the item in search, then I can pull it up and add it to my cart. I'm looking for a store that I can shop from the ad. Aldi's has become my go-to because of the inconvenience of Lund's website. I will check back to see if you correct this ridiculous glitch. read more

The store i have not had a issue. the Liqour store however.. almost every time I get the worse service ever. I never get a hello but somehow other people do. my Last interaction he he asked for both ID's I keep both my partners and my ID together." I told him yes one sec" he then said it again "I need to see ID" even though I have told him to give me a second. I was about to give him our Id and he pointed at my partner and said " i need to see Hers too" I then replied "ur so have hers right here that's why I told you give me a second cause I was grabbing hers too" he then snapped and said "do you always carry her ID too". You guys are awesome! Thank you. I knew what I wanted to order for my outdoor poolside event but every time I attempted to place my order one of the three items I wanted did not show up.. this is when I stopped by in person at your Calhoun and Lake store and the wonderful deli workers explained to me that all catering or platter items are not always available at every store location. Ok.. I get it. So a couple days later I went to the St. Louis Park Lunds and Byerlys catering sales office and spoke with Mandy (catering specialist) and she was simply awesome . She set us up with Roast Beef Crostinis, Fruit Crostinis and Chicken satays with peanut sauce- Num! I left knowing that day that these items would be ready for pick up on the date and time I wanted--.. and sure enough... they were and just perfect. Thank you. read more

Absolute worst home delivery service. Overcharged my credit card and substituted wrong products. Use cub foods or instacart. Had to place a charge back on my cc as no one at the store can even answer your call. Just awful. read more

This is a review specifically for the department that makes the breakfast burritos because that's all I go there for. They need to learn how to do it. Consistently bad the 3 times I've gave them a shot. Soggy and yet overcooked, instant spit out the moment I take a bite. Learn how to do it or stop making them. When I wear my entitled American citizen hat where I want for nothing, this is my go-to local grocery store. Grocery shopping over the years has become a pleasantly fun experience from what I remember growing up as a kid and now there are grocery stores with such upscale products and produce that going grocery shopping has become a fun adult foodie adventure. The Lunds and Byerlys brand of stores ranks near the top of the luxury food shopping list. This location is very service oriented and I love how your groceries get bagged and sent out on a conveyor belt to a drive up point and loaded into your car for you if you are really feeling bloated and lazy. I also love how this location has a small bank branch/ATM in it, a mini food court, a liquor store, and a coffee house located within. It is like adult Disneyland and when I need to be entertained, I can hang out here for quite a while and completely waste time. The products and produce here are pretty top notch for people that like to cook. I downgrade them from a full 5 stars for the Byerly's merger with the Lunds brand a few years ago. Byerlys used to be completely the bomb with a full service butcher selling certified prime cuts of beef but the merger took the wind out of their budget sail a bit and seems to have cut back on them having true butchers in their meat department and gone are the days of ever seeing a USDA Prime piece of meat. I happen to be a meat snob and love the craft of butchery so I do miss that but I'm guessing for most people, that is not even a noticeable thing. Their prices for things in the store are generally a bit higher than more modest grocers but the available choices, quality, and veritable luxury-like surroundings kind of make up for it. Despite some butchery imperfections, in my 25 years of living in MN, this has remained my all time most frequented grocery store for a reason. read more

I want to start by saying that I have been a long time customer of the St Louis Park. I used to be very impressed with variety and quality of their food. When they renovated the deli area it was great. But the last few home deliveries have convinced me that I am done being a loyal customer. I received my delivery on 8/30/21 which included many items from the deli. The same day of the delivery I ate the chicken salad spread that I ordered. The first bite tasted like it was turned. The date on the container was 9/1. I realize that things have changed due to pandemic but there is no excuse for spoiled food. The next day I tried the bow tie chicken salad, it also tasted old. The ham that I ordered was not sliced thin as I requested. I have not tasted the cherry chicken pasta salad yet so I am hoping its not spoiled ($12.19). Also, I won't buy produce from them because its always damaged. read more

I really do love this grocery and liquor store. While the prices tend to be a little higher, they do a great job of making grocery shopping an experience. The grocery is always clean, well organized and has an incredible selection. The frequent samples are also a plus. My husband hates this place because it's so bougie. Personally, I love it, and I'd shop here all the time if it weren't so expensive (and if my husband didn't hate it). I tend to just shop here if I need nice ingredients for a special meal, or Jewish items, as opposed to coming here to stock up on stuff for Tuesday night meals. Pros: The service is amazing in a bygone-era kind of way. Bag my groceries? Yes please! That bakery! We sometimes stop here for a nice dessert after a movie or something. The fancy schmancy cupcakes always hit the spot. The cheese counter -- with samples! And an olive bar. And the deli, and the salad bar, and delicious Chinese food from the Big Bowl counter. So much fun! The liquor store is lovely and upscale; maybe too much so, since we don't regularly need expensive bottles of wine. But they do have good sales now and then. I really appreciate their fish and meat counters. The fish is high quality. I mean, you pay for that, but there's a huge difference between the salmon you buy at Cub and the salmon here. This store is Kosher foods and Jewish items central! If you need a Kosher brisket, or a Bar Mitzvah card, or a Yahrzeit candle, or pretty much anything Passover related, look no further. Cons: Really, it's just the price. And some of the stuff here is just -- as my teenage daughter would say -- "extra." Sometimes you just need a standard bottle of French dressing, and not an aisle full of artisan salad toppings in pretty bottles. Some of the produce seems especially overpriced to me, and while some of it is very high quality, some of it is the same stuff you can get at Cub for cheaper. read more

Their bakery is SOOO delicious. Their cakes and cupcakes are always a winner for celebrations. They hold nothing back when it comes to butter and sugar and every bite is delicious. They also have a gluten free bakery section that has pretty good gluten free items. From Coconut macaroons, brownies, seven layer cakes, etc. read more

I had an event catered on November 10, 2018 delivered to the Central Park of Woodbury. (20 guests) The delivery person was precisely on time and completed the entire set up very quickly. He was friendly and informative about using the Sterno's. All of my guests commented on how nice the variety of brunch items that were offered and everything tasted fresh and delicious. The fruit crostini's were a huge hit along with the golden punch. The potatoes were hot and had a very slight "spicy" taste. I'm not sure if it was black pepper but everyone loved it. I was concerned that I wouldn't have enough croissants (dozen) however, I trusted Kelli's decision that not every guest will take one and there would be other items available. She was 100% correct as I had 6 leftover. This is my first experience catering and I am so happy my favorite grocery store offers this service. I am so pleased that L&B helped make my daughter's baby shower so special for her and all the guests. Not having to make the food helped me concentrate on the fun things; making the invitations, gifts and decorations. I also appreciated the reasonable cost for the entire service. Yeah, I know, it's Byerly's, but seriously, it is a great grocery store...that is if you're fine paying a premium, which if you're a mom and shopping with your baby and need to juggle the weather, your bags and your kid is worth it at times for the drive up loading alone...but today I discovered another great reason....for your child's 1st birthday you can receive a complimentary 7" birthday cake with proof of age (eg passport or birth certificate)! People come up to me and say Ben, you spend more time talking about grocery stores than any sane, normal man should. And that's because I'm not really sane or normal. But beyond that, it's because I'm right. There are so few stores that get it right. But Byerly's GETS IT RIGHT. Let's talk. 1. Crystal chandelier over the frozen foods section. Dead serious. 2. The floors? ALL CARPET, baby. Call me the next time you see that in a grocery store. 3. Not only do they bag your groceries for you, but if you drove to the store (and, in Minneapolis, who doesn't?), you'll walk away from the counter with nothing more in your hands than a couple of small plastic tags with numbers on them. Drive your car up to the loading area and those bags will be placed anywhere in your car you want. Trunk, backseat, delicately balanced on the roof, they don't care. They live to serve. And don't beg for tips. 4. You can buy postage stamps at Byerly's. Is this a small thing? Maybe. Is it really handy? Definitely. 5. It's open 24 hours a day. Which is good, because it's usually crowded. Except at 11 p.m. on Friday. Which is a good time to go shopping. Byerly's, please bring your beautiful grocery shopping, amazing selection, and half-way decent prices to San Francisco. I promise you will drive every other grocery chain in the city out of business within a year. You're just that much better than everyone else. read more

We order online groceries here once per week and I'm thoroughly impressed with the ease of ordering, and the quality of delivery service we receive. They are Always on time, and have our order exactly right. Our delivery driver even helps me lift heavy items on the shelves. We have a corporate account, so these deliveries are to our business. I think the online system is super easy to use, and we can find 99% of everything we need. The only things we can't are obscure items we get from Amazon. In terms of this Byerly's, it's my favorite location as it's kind of old school classic Byerly's. read more

This is the premiere Bylery's (and Bylery's is the premiere supermarket in Minnesota). They seem more competitive these days, particularly in meats. Their service is absolutely prime. We went to a Cub recently, were treated brusquely, and had to pack our own groceries. When we compared prices, we would have done almost as well at Byerly's, and had a far friendlier experience. Best #grocery store ever. Without question, my very favorite thing about living in #Minnesota is #Byerly's. When I first moved here, people told me that I had to go to Byerly's--it was described to me as a grocery store that was fully carpeted with chandeliers in the frozen food section. This I had to see. And, let me tell you, it did not disappoint. From Caribou, to a wonderful wine selection to a community room you can reserve for meetings, this place is a compound. The bakery is very popular with our family. They have a delightful array of cakes, cookies, donuts and cupcakes. From gluten free to Kosher, there's something for every sweet tooth. The cheese shop is pretty decent--and the cheese people are always happy to help you find what you need. My husband is a big fan of the meat and fish counter. It's a great place to purchase good, fresh cuts of meat and seafood. When company's coming, be sure to stop here. One of our favorite family traditions is the little white mailbox you see in the store between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Along the side are blanks sheets where kids can write letters to Santa. Santa writes them back and sends them cookie coupons too. Awesome. One Christmas we forgot to turn our letter in before the mailbox was shipped back to the North Pole, and the store manager expedited our letter to the North Pole--and made sure we heard from Santa before Christmas! We're talking about groceries here. This is stuff you will eventually EAT. Look at the fresh meats and produce at Byerly's. They look far superior to the similar items at a lower-end grocery store. The carpet helps the acoustics so you can hear yourself think while you shop. Walk to the middle of the store, stop, and listen... In the rain, snow or sleet you drive up to get the groceries that someone else bagged for you. Hello. I pretty much hate grocery shopping but, if I shopped exclusively at this Byerly's, I would probably like it a lot more. I'd also have to be super rich to only shop here and, therefore, would be happier in general because of the buttloads of cash I'd have in the bank. Whatever. I'll take what I can get. I'm not a huge fan of the carpet (it's odd, ok?) but everything else just makes me forget about it. The prepared foods are super good, the international sections are awesome and the produce is always perfect. I'd review the bakery/pastry sections but I purposely walk past them because I'd gain 20 pounds in five minutes if I allowed myself to buy anything there. The employees are also really nice, which is more than can be said for any Cub location where the average employee has 3 teeth and disposition that makes you wonder what's going on in their head. (FYI, the sushi at the location off of the Duluth exit on Highway 100 is some of the best I've ever had. The Edina location is kind of bullshit in general so I stay away from it unless absolutely necessary.) read more

To the best of my knowledge, it was Byerly's that was a (if not THE) pioneer of the gourmet/upscale grocery store concept, way back during the "misery index" Carter administration years. And even in those dark times, it was Byerly's that lifted the grocery shopping experience up from the warehouse-lighting-one-wheel-stuck-cart-how-soon-can-I-get-this-over-with-and-get-out-of-here event that it had become (and, unfortunately in some instances, remains). For this alone, Byerly's deserves a top rating. Those of you now enjoying Bristol Farms or Gelsons should offer an appreciative salute to the Byerly doyennes and patrons alike who, enduring and overcoming the tundra/socialist climate and culture of the Twin-Cities, paved the way for your current, elevated epicurean experience. Seriously, this place is sooo not in my price range. And I totally tried with Cub. I will go there for the necessities, because produce/steak is too expensive at Byerly's unless there is a deal going on. However. . Freaking Boar's Head Deli Meat? SOLD - I will go here JUST for that. And they do the "slice it as thin as you can" request without batting an eye. Also they have Kraft String Cheese. Yes, I know, it's not exactly 5 star gourmet - but these are the things i LOVE and Byerly's is the only place in town that has them. So if I need to make 2 runs to the grocery store, 1 to Cub for my necessities and 1 to Byerly's for "all that extra stuff"... so be it. read more

Byerly's is pretty decent of a grocery store. I love how it's laid out and cannot pull myself away from it. I hate the fact that all Lunds and Byerly's are no longer 24 hours. I probably will never go back now, becuase of that. I used to work at Byerly's in St. Louis Park, the staff there is really friendly; I'm not sure if I think that becuase I worked there, or if that's actually true! Stay away from there on Saturdays between 10:00am - 3:00pm, unless you love bitchy middle-aged women who are spending their husbands money freely on "all-natural" items, or kids that run around freely while their parents dont care. (Would it really kill you to pull your cart off to the side of the aisle while you are stopped, and looking at something?) I guess thats the thing about all grocery stores... and realy, everywhere! People don't know how to control their kids, or they simply don't care. The prices at Byerly's are pretty reasonable, however I did find, that you can get the same organic and natural brands at Trader Joes (up on Excelssior) for on average, about $1.50 less than at Byerly's. If you're looking to not spend a lot of money...STAY AWAY... Byerly's knows how to suck you in and drain your wallet... sly little bastards! They really do have a lot of delicious looking produce and meats though. They pick through the entire shipment and really only keep what looks the best to sell. I was surprised..They really do take a lot of pride in what they sell and how it affects themselves and their customers. The other thing about Byer;ys that I found was pretty neat, was the fact that they actually donate the bakery to charities after it is no longer "fresh enough" to sell. Its really nice. A lot of the bakery gets baked and never sold, and before it actually goes bad, the store is ordered to toss it. Instead, they donate to church groups. What big hearts they have! Byerly's also has a great wine section. They have a full liquor store attached in St. Louis Park. Again, their liquor prices are pretty reasonable. you can also get delivered groceries, which will save you time and gran you assloads of convenience! Go shop at Byerlys! read more

Amazing upscale fancy grocery store! I mean they have people to load your groceries in the car!! I miss that! They also do carry regular items, like soups in a can and uncle Sams beans and rice. But the gourmet items are superb! I also love their salad bar and antipasto bar, the tomato and watercress with cheese, yum!!! This is a review for Byerly's cooking school, not the store. First the fee for their cooking classes is $15 and when you show up you get a $10 gift card. So in terms of return on your money spent it is not a bad deal. Having qualified that, be prepared for your class to be sponsored by a vendor. Mine was sponsored by Smart Chicken and the rep was fully involved in the class. The recipes they used were not from the chef that prepared them, but rather were from the sponsor. All were fine but none were too challenging. You don't get to get in the kitchen and improve your skills, but they serve you a glass of wine and give you a taste of what they prepared. Woohoo! Free wine! Did I forget why I took a cooking class? Did I learn anything? I guess if you want to waste your time and get a gift card a Byerly's class is worth it. If you want to learn how to cook from a chef there are many and much better options in the cities to do that. read more
