I've been coming to this specific Cub for YEARS. Whenever I need something specific and I don't want to run around everywhere, Cub is the place to go. I absolutely love their bakery- especially the bakery. I wish I knew the gentleman's name who's helped me countless times and is SO friendly. He does amazing work. My family has been ordering the birthday donuts for years (it's become tradition) and let me tell you, these are some of the freshest and best donuts I've ever had. The price is incredible! It's been remodeled which means it is a more pleasant shopping experience. The store is clean. Shopping on a Sunday afternoon, it wasn't very busy. Wait at deli counter was less than 2 minutes. Decent selection of meats & cheeses & the prices are better than Lunds or Kowalskis by a long shot. The fresh produce section has an excellent variety. Be warned you need to carefully check what you put in your cart. You could end up with something either so underripe it could be a week before you can use it or so overripe it will be inedible by the time you finish checking out. It's a big store with huge variety of choices in every department. The store was well-staffed & everyone was friendly. No wait to check out & someone was patrolling the parking lot to be sure there were plenty of carts inside ready for use. read more

This store has gouged so much through the pandemic, unrelenting. I have stopped shopping there. I stopped by the other day and bought the generic cheese. Everywhere I buy generic cheese, it tastes pretty much the same as the lead competitor. Your generic cheese, a medium cheddar is noticably inferior in terms of taste. There's always a good supply too, whereas other stores are very picked down by Sunday afternoon. - My boyfriend loves their hot food area, specifically their fried chicken and egg rolls. I've also had their soups, which are very good and perfect to take home and heat up later Cons: - Options. For example, a place like Hyvee might have three types of Turkey Burgers to choose from, where Cub only has one. Cub's one option will be good quality, but if you need a specific type, it might not be the one for you - Service. To be honest, the service could be better. What a horrible experience. Seriously horrible right from the beginning. 1st encounter was the guy who should be fired from the produce department. As my elderly aunt engaged with him just enough to ask if the lettuce he was stocking was the freshest he informed her he couldn't be bothered because he hates his job and was grouchy. So??? Sorry his life sucks but How's that our problem? Moving on to the meat department we met another life hater who was incredibly rude. Must be the store policy. Since he was stocking meat we were interested in we pissed him off. No worries. Keep your meat. Then the store clerk who checked us out was equally horrible. I will be calling the corporate office.... On the other hand I realize there are a half dozen very nice stores in the vicinity with better varieties. Scratch everything decent I said about this place. You know what you get when you smear lipstick on a turd? It's the same thing you get when you remodel a Cub. The cashiers are assholes. I've stepped in to help little old ladies struggling to bag their own groceries while the cashiers just stare at them with discontent and roll their eyes. The more times I've gone back, the more I've noticed that the store is still warehouse-y and ugly as shit, laden with childish primary colors; it's not as tragic as it was before, but it's still a turd swathed in lipstick. Ever since Rainbow left, Cub has the monopoly of large grocery chains in WSP. Their prices most certainly reflect that and have increased accordingly. So, to sum it up... - Stupidly high prices - Bitchy cashiers - Interior that gets uglier the longer you stare at it - No bagging assistance even for the elderly or physically challenged - Gross ass food shelf looking/overpriced store brand Fuck, I hate this place. But for the true discount shopper, they have a bargain bin by the door. I was quite shocked to see the extremely low ratings of Cub. But soon found out why. Yes, they are remodeling the store, but find it hard to find anything. In addition to that, I called last week to order a case, or two, of Peet's whole bean coffee. I was transferred to speak with the apparent shelf stocker for that section of the store. I think his name was, well, he had been there since HS, and hates being there, still--40-50 years late, as he did when I first started going there. Let's call this moron J as in Jethro. He got on the phone, was still rude, sarcastic, and apparently wrote my number down that he needed to call me back about my order. Surprise, no call back. I had been coming to this store a long time ago, I enjoyed how the ladies laughed at J for many different reasons, but I had moved and went elsewhere, but eventually tired of the same attitudes from many of the workers at another Cub, too. They were selling many outdated foods, hamburger--3 lbs, with a day before expiration date. etc. The sad part was, when I told of this, many employees said there was nothing wrong with this: profits before health for the customers. I guess the longer I'm away from my home state...the more spoiled I become. I don't know where to begin describing this..."not so...super market." Growing up...we had 2 choices of big grocery stores and a handful of specialty ones. It appears that there is only one player in town now...and it's the worst I've been to. Let's start with the offerings. 1. The bakery is incredibly sad. Nothing worth buying. Cub should feel lucky that Publix isn't in the area yet. 2. The meat selection...ugh. 3. Only "low-fat" buttermilk available? Why would "low-fat" buttermilk be made...let alone...your only option? 4. The produce was fine 5. The inner isles were as expected and ordered in an easy to shop manner Lastly...the service. I've had many trips here to experience nothing but sad and unfriendly service. Now that we live in another state...we obviously don't have a "Cub Card." When my wife asked if the cashier had one we could use...she stared at my wife...widened her eyes...and said, "NO." This was also with a slight tilt of her head. Get the picture? Asked the guy behind us to use his. He seemed a bit irritated that the cashier gave us that treatment too. Our other trips were met with...not even a "Hello" or any interaction past a total price. I spend so much time talking up Minnesota as a legitimate rival to Southern Hospitality by telling everyone about "Minnesota Nice." Cub...your workers aren't "Minnesota Nice!" I get that Minnesotans are practical...and maybe it is...just grocery shopping...but...man was I disappointed. Cub...you make me question my home state. What are you doing? Good variety, bad management. Even when lines are backed up five carts each they only have three lanes open. This is where the moms come and fill two carts each, so the lines don't move fast. This is one of the dirtier Cub Foods locations.The store just repainted the exterior during the summer of 2007. It used to be a light blue and now it is tan. However nothing changed in the interior. The Rainbow Foods down the street is cleaner, but pricier. Super Target (3-4 blocks North) has fewer groceries items compared to this Cub Foods, but it is better organized and cleaner. Expect to stand in line for a few minutes since they tend to have very few registers open. However Target is not any better (at least Cub Foods has magazines to flip through). Rainbow Foods has the best checkout system including some that are self-checkout. If you want service than shop there. read more

I cannot understand whay there are such low ratings. I think this is a great Cubb with everything you need; it is not fancy like Lun's Bierley's. It is definitely clean with friendly employees ,some good baked goods including kalachis which are pastries sprinkled with poppy seeds & filled with poppy seed paste; something we cannot find in California. All your foods, toiletries, supplies, & so forth are here at low prices. I think they are even better than the former Rainbow stores they aquired. Keep up the good work guys. read more

WATCH THE PRICES THAT THEY CHARGE. Common for sale items not to ring up properly. When you point these issues out to the cashiers they all have the same answer - Nothing I can do about it. Recently I was overcharged by $.50 cents per pound on apples. I pointed this out to their customer service desk. Went in there again one week later. Same problem. No one ever seems to take ownership and fix pricing problems. I am done going here. They are dishonest and have terrible customer service. read more
