I appreciate Cub Foods more these days. Although it's not my usual place to get groceries when I'm in the Twin Cities, I lie that many Cub Foods open their parking lots for food trucks to gather. It's nice that they support small businesses. Having these food trucks around allows me to sample a bunch of good food while I'm in town. In early March, I learned that this Cub Foods in White Bear Lake (WBL) had five food trucks parked in the parking lot of this Cub Foods. I was excited for the food trucks and visiting WBL for the first time. I came here on a Sunday. The five food trucks were parked away from the actual supermarket. Looking at the store, it looked massive from my vantage point. It has Huntington, a bank. It also has its own liquor store and pharmacy. Out of the five food trucks, I got food from KCM Eggrolls and Original Hockey Mom Brownies. I had already had Rebel Lobster's lobster roll in the past. It was so tough to turn it down because I wanted to try food from other trucks. KCM Eggrolls is known for its footlong egg roll on a stick. I had to get one to say that I've had one. It was yummy. It was full of filling. It was crispy. I enjoyed it. I had a tough time deciding which brownie I wanted from Original Hockey Mom Brownies. I settled for the buttercream swirl brownie. OMG! It was delicious. The buttercream was delightful. The brownie was moist and chewy. It does run sweet, so beware of a sugar rush and a bit of a crash afterwards. The man at the truck loved how happy I was to get my brownie. I was beaming because I hadn't had a brownie in ages. This truck does have a secret menu, which was great to know. I paid cash at both food trucks. They both accept credit cards. Even with the food trucks, there was plenty of parking at this Cub Foods. I should get groceries at Cub Foods next time. I do know a lot about their parking lots and food trucks these days. =) (80) read more

I have lived near this location for 16 years and it's continued to be a terrible store. Produce is sketchy, prices are not competitive and the people who shop here are often in their pajamas, abandoning their carts in the middle of the isle or shaving their legs in the bathroom sink. I hate this place. read more

I've been here a few times and they have a lot of selection and a beer cave to keep beer ice cold. The workers are always super friendly and my dad enjoys coming here on Vikings game days because he gets a complimentary fireball when he wears purple. They make it fun! read more

Meh on the Cub Foods Supermarket (not the greatest service and they run out of items that are sale). The popcorn area is a treat but compared to other Cubs Foods, not the best (and I like Cub). What brings us to this WBL Cub is the Food Trucks set up on the east part of the parking lot..often. I feel like in these pandemic times, it's supporting local and delish to boot. I have gone do this grocery store for years, it has really gone down hill over the last five years. Staff: a lot of the staff here are very rude. I am understanding that you have a job to do however as a paying customer please do not get mad when you are stocking and I would like that same item. Produce: the produce has gone way down hill. The items always look like they are thrown around. I hardly ever buy produce here anymore. Overall groceries:they carry an abundance of most items ex) there are about 30 different tortillas to pick from. The problem is they don't seem to pay attention until after several months what people like and they are always out of the same items. You also have to check all items if it's produce for bruises, cans for huge dents, boxes for cuts. Everything I go to grab I need to make sure it is not damage and over half of it is. This is not my go to grocery store anymore even though it is closer then most, however I feel it the management pays attention more to customer needs and manage their employees to treat customers with respect as well as the items they are stocking, they could become better again. read more

Having elementary school kids swarm you and beg for money when you are trying to bag your groceries makes for a bad experience. I won't be back to this store. read more

I'm frustrated. I shop here all the time and have spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars over the past 10+ yrs shopping here. They have a great selection of meat, baked goods, deli, fresh produce. And I came here tonight to fill in some items and upon check out someone came suddenly and cut in front making me stop and pull back quickly on my cart, fine whatever, but in this moment the last item i threw in the cart came crashing out of the hole in the basket. A jar of jalapenos. I understand it's a frustrating moment for all, but accidents happen all the time and being charged 2 bucks for this was just a petty blow. No thank you Cub. I'm done. People make mistakes, accidents happen and faulting me was not caring, nice or compassionate. We are hard hit right now. Keep the 2 dollars and I'll choose another place to spend my grocery money on. read more

The Cub is owned by the Kowalskis but this store must have completely different management. This Cub could be better if customer service, especially the extra large lady at the customer service desk were trained by the Kowalski's store trainers. Politeness is invaluable.. read more

there are a few things wrong with this location! the staff is definitely a "d squad rating", and i have no problem paying more at lund's byerlys! avoid this cub foods location! go across the street and shop lunds/byerlys! you will not be disappointed!!! read more

I really enjoy shopping at this store. They also have quite a few Kowalski's products, which just adds to the pleasure of shopping there. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Besides their wonderful varities of made-in-house popcorn, their made-in-house tortilla chips are better than any others I've ever bought. Put the pinnacle is their mashed potatoes from the deli. My wife and I agree - they are the best mashed potatoes we've ever eaten. Period! read more

Are the zero stars available? There was hardly anyone in the store but when I see one person they seem to want to walk right up to me and block my path. I wanted cornish game hen for dinner but I had a really bad toothache, it was killing me. I spent a couple minutes looking through the aisle for some pain relief and better fluoride toothpaste. As I look around me bundles of employees seem to be swarming near my area. I finally choose something and walk around while employees seem to be giving me the side eye. I saw at least 5 of them pretending to be busy while keeping track of me. I pay quickly and leave. Strangest thing when I walk out the store I see a security guard standing by the doorway as I am going to my car. I immediately apply the Orajel to my tooth and I drive by the entryway, the security guard seemed to be giving me the side eye and as I drove off he walked back into the building. Big grocery store, lots of room. Went to use the women's restroom, took a poo and BAM! Literally no toilet paper. Good thing I was the only person in there cause I had to waddle myself out of that stall with my pants around my thighs and go into a different stall. Their prices have gone up sky high. You can find much better value for just as good produce at many other stores. Shelves are still often empty 5 months into this so-called pandemic. And some of the cashiers are just so so crabby. On the plus side, they keep the store cleaner than most Cub Foods. read more

This is a pretty decent grocery store with good prices and a friendly staff. It's usually not too busy, so you can get in and out quick if you just need a few things. I'm not a huge fan of the layout, the isles go across the store, I prefer isles that go front to back, but it's not a big deal and I'm just being picky. It's big enough that they typically have everything you are looking for, but not so big that you feel like your doing marathon training trying to get everything on your list. Overall a great neighborhood grocery store with decent prices. read more

I literally have been shopping here since it opened and I have never had any problems. I've have always felt that the staff are genuinely interested in making my trip pleasant and making sure I get want I need. Normally I would rate this store at a 4 or 5, they are wonderful. But cashier Casey changed this all of that and really lowered the quality of service I expect to receive as a customer. She was not only rude, but talked down to us when we had problems with the card machine. She offered no help other than snide comments and laughing to herself. Her attitude was enough to make customers behind us look up to see how we were going to handle the situation. If I had the choice between getting cashiered by Casey or waiting in line behind other customers, I'd gladly wait in line with a smile on my face. Boo..Cub you are so much better than this! Got Deli chicken wings last from this Cub foods deli. They looked pretty good but I didn't realize that about 5 of them were burnt black on the other side. You would think that they would throw the burnt ones and not try to cover it up. read more
