First time visiting a Fresh Thyme without knowing much about it. I would say Fresh Thyme is a mix of Trader Joe's and Hy-Vee, definitely not as "fancy" as a Whole Foods but much nicer than a Cub Foods. The selection isn't huge, but there is a good assortment of produce, meat, and packaged goods that could work in a paelo friendly diet. If you're looking for junk food this is not your store. The prices are average but the specials and coupons help a lot, like 48 cents for a bag of carrots, sure! The Fresh Thyme app helps if you're looking for savings. I've been told Wednesday is their version of double coupon, so it gets busy. Staff is friendly and helpful. Again, it gets busy and there are not tons of staff like big box retailers, so be patient! Overall, I would recommend it for people looking for some reasonably priced produce. read more

First time coming to this Fresh Thyme Market. I was really curious to see what was offered here. I was very interested to see that the liquor store portion was separate from the rest of the store I thought that was an odd choice but it is what it is. The store featured everything that you come to expect from other fresh time markets with an easy to understand layout. They had a great selection of snacks and drinks. What first brought me to Fresh Thyme Vadnais Heights were their selection of Siena Soap Company products offered. Note, not all locations offer these products, so it's so nice that Fresh Thyme vadnais heights has been a constant supplier for me. It's been so nice not having to run all over the city (although, I would if needed). The store has always been clean and bright. I also love how they offer a wide variety of fresh and healthier options. Lots of other personal care products, protein powders, and bulk items like nuts, peanut butter, and such. If you're a shopper, you may find yourself getting lost in this store (like me). Something to consider, bringing your own reusable bags as each bag cost 10 cents, not the end of the world, but something to be aware of beforehand. Self checkout lanes are highly recommended here. Each time I've been here, maybe 1-2 lanes have been open, so when I needed assistance at the self checkout, it took a little while. However, my encounter with the staff member was good. She checked on the product price and adjusted to the correct cheaper price for me. It was a good experience. What brought me to this Fresh Thyme was that I had to go to Target and this is the only one I can stand and I can kill 2 birds. Items are always on sale, today it was canned tomatoes. Good thing I got a large cart. I got a lot of stuff. Once again I only came in for milk. At the produce area I got into a conversation with a guy about the sales. He pointed out the Argentina EZ peel shrimp. At the juice bar I found the most tart lemonades that actually needed sugar to make it taste right. My favorite Mochi is near the check out, like the other stores. I picked up more Skyr yogurt and shredded cheeses for chili. I grabbed a chili powder that doesn't burn your mouth off. I got my favorite almond flour crackers that they don't carry the snack pack. I got many other staples too. This was the day it rained buckets and I was still in a good mood. read more

I absolutely love this grocery store. They have great national brands, they feature local brands as well as other specialty brands. Every time I come in the store it's clean, the staff is always friendly and willing to help everything is so fresh, colorful and plentiful. I have never not found something I needed / wanted in here sometimes I end up finding things I had no idea I needed lol. The fish market and butcher shop is beyond one of the best The meats and fish are so fresh and not only will they cut to order for you but they have feature prices that woodlow most grocery stores and top butcher shops out of the water. They're saff is always knowledgeable and extremely willing and eager to help and give suggestions. One star is too many stars. Very, very hard working associates in the store, they need to be coached and guided correctly. Perhaps the "higher ups" not walk around on with a cell phone on their ear, talking and not engaging customers. I've never seen such an unprofessional group of higher leadership than at this location. Sorry, I'm not sorry...but what conversation on the cell phone could ever be more Important than greeting your CUSTOMER face to face in person?!? Fresh Thyme has become one of our regular stops for groceries. They have a good selection of fresh vegetables and usually good prices. It looks like it's a good lunch stop for locals to build their own salad, pasta, sandwich or pizza. We have enjoyed their meat department and the variety of brats either pork or chicken. Fresh Thyme is a great addition to the neighborhood. I love this store. Full of great deals too. Check weekly and you can pick up deals, like 99 cent raspberries or hamburger for 1.49 a pound among other things. They have a great bakery and salad bar. Rotisserie chickens, bulk foods, nuts, flour, spices, candies. I especially love their natural body care, aromatherapy and medicinal area. Natural shampoo, deodorant, pain relievers. They have essential oils and diffuser finds. You can pick up freshly made smoothies, juice and infused water. There is not a Whole Foods available in the area, but Fresh Thyme fulfills that need. read more

The last time I went here, everything was either rotten or expired when I bought it. I totally should've looked at expiration dates more closely but TBH I'm pregnant and exhausted so I just trusted that they were fine, which normally they are. But I got a coconut which we opened the same day to find it was mushy, grey and rotten on the inside. A bag of lemons that looked fine, but two days later had one really moldy one that basically ruined the whole bag. A bottle of milk that expired on 5/18 when I bought it on 5/20. Two packages of ground beef that we had to throw away as soon as we tried to use them because they were off-colored and foul-smelling inside the packaging. So disappointed overall, I expected better. And not only am I disappointed but selling this stuff is potentially dangerous to the public. -10/10 do not recommend. read more

I Shop here often and absolutely love it! When it first opened I was skeptical another grocery store I thought, boy was I wrong. My favorite parts of this store are that I can buy single chicken sausages from the cutlery counter along with many other things. Their produce is cheap and good and pretty much everything in the store that Isn't in the freezer you know you are going to get high quality. I go here way more then my old grocery store and anyone who asks I recommend going here. Coming from Southern California the one thing we missed was a good grocery store. We used to shop at a grocery store called Sprouts. It was called Sprouts and it was sort of like a Cub meets Kowalskis meets Wholefoods. Good prices and good products. When Fresh Thyme opened we decided to go check it out. It was as if someone had transported our Sprouts to Minnesota. Everything was the EXACT same right down to the ads. Well turns out that the guy who started Sprouts also started Fresh Thyme! Happy days! What makes Fresh Thyme so great is that they have good seasonal options, healthy choices, and a good variety of things without emptying your wallet. I always felt like Cub was a bit too cheap and Kowalskis was a bit too pricey. Fresh Thyme gives you the Cub food prices for Kowalskis level goods. They also have some great "prepared" meet options. We have loved their stuffed pork chops, chile relenos, and stuffed chicken breast. All very flavorful and easy to prepare. If you want high quality, healthy, and reasonably priced options you shouldn't go anywhere else but here. 75/100 read more

I wanted Irish Soda Bread for a St Patrick's party that my daughter was having on Saturday. Fresh Thyme in Vadnais Heights happened to have it on sale so I called and ordered 6 loaves to be picked up on Friday. I was unable to pick it up personally on Friday, so I called to let them know that my grandson would pick it up by Saturday noon instead. I asked if I could pay for it by credit card over the phone, but they refused, saying that it is against store policy. So, I let my grandson know he'd have to pay for it and I would reimburse him. So he went Saturday before noon to pick it up and was told they didn't have the order. They showed him the note that had been with the order and it said I would pick it up Friday, my original pick up time. The person I talked to Friday did not update the pick up time, so my bread was sold to someone else without even a phone call to check with me! My grandson had to go to 4 stores before he found soda bread to bring to my daughter. I called Sunday to speak with the manager of Fresh Thyme, John ( who said he was the acting manager). After telling him what happened, he said they had been especially busy Saturday, and they were short of help. He said it must have been a miscommunication and he was sorry. That was it! He did not offer to look into what happened or how he could make it right for me! I will not do business with this store again. Their customer service is terrible! I really felt that John didn't care at all that their error had caused my grandson a lot of trouble in having to go to 4 places before he found the bread, not to mention that he had to pay double the price for it! My bread had been sold to someone else without even a phone call to me to verify that it was ok to sell it. There is no excuse for that and their indifference has cost them a customer. read more

I was super excited when this store first opened in the same strip mall as my work, the first time I was there in opening day I loved all the store had to offer and the friendly staff, it has all been down hill from there. Every time I visit this store the staff is leas friendly than the last time, is too busy getting food for them selves to realize they are in the way of customers, and too busy taking amongst each other to even try to converse with customers....I don't have crazy high expectations when visiting a grocery store, but I at least like to feel like my business is appreciated, and I do not feel this way when I shop at this location. I gave this store several chances but I will no longer go there. Every time I went to shop for meat or seafood from their Weekly Sales Ad, I left the store empty handed. They were either out of the item or they told me the Ad price was incorrect. When you talk to the people behind the meat counter inquiring where the meat or seafood Sale items are they give a great story about how they ran out or the shipments were delayed. Some special meat and seafood sales last for 4 days. They run out the first day. If they have the BOGO roast beef sales, they'll have 2 roasts on their shelf. One roast will be huge while the other is tiny. So what happens is you have to purchase the higher priced roast and you'll get the tiny one for free. Sneaky sales tactics at this place. read more

We use the Fresh Thyme in Bloomington and have since they opened. The store is amazing and the fresh produce and meat are second to no other !! I was truly surprised at the truly reasonable prices on some products especially the fresh meat out of the case. Their chicken fajita meat all marinaded and carne asada are fantastic, I combine the two to make delicious fajita salads !! We had strip sirloins over the holidays (@5.99 a lb.) and they were absolutely perfect...so tender and flavorful !! Went on a Saturday afternoon for some groceries and planned on buying several items that were advertised in their flyer. THEY WERE OUT OF EVERY ADVERTISED ITEM I WANTED. Also had no rotisserie chicken!! No lasagna noodles, no frontera salsa, no alexia onion rings. Hey fresh thyme: if you are going to advertise items the least you can do is have them in stock!!!! What I DID find was expired organic valley milk and cream. No thanks. I'll stick with my local co-op. Oh Fresh Thyme I wanted to l wanted so much to love your store. My family repeatedly went back for second, third, tenth chances to make this a go to place to shop. You successfully got us on in the door with the low produce prices, however we noticed that the produce in your store is subpar. This is supposed to be a "Farmers Market" soft apples sour berries and moldy peppers are not my thing even at a good price. The affordability of the store ends at the produce. The prices on the rest of the products is similar to Kowalskis or Byerlys without the quality. Every time I came to your store I found expired items in your dairy or deli cases. On trip to the store I saw a package of cheese cubes that were covered in mold that no one bothered to remove. Your staff does not seem happy at all. Not a good experience. I really like Sprouts in AZ and I expected more of that experience. I am sad this place is so disappointing. read more
