We went here on a Friday (Dec.6) night at about 9:30 - 10:30pm and it was empty so my party decided to leave because they still were charging $10 per person for entry... No bueno! I wasn't paying $10 to hear music in a practically empty establishment. Literally my party was their only guests and the employees and take out dining. A band I loved plays here on Fridays usually, they moved to this location recently from 904 Sports Bar. The security, bartenders and staff overall are great, Kind and attentive even when they're packed! The space is beautiful as well. I'm the kind of girl that drinks her wine (or peach Long Island depending on my vibe) and turns all the way up. They have a lot of room in here so you aren't forced to bump into anyone. In my opinion Cuba Libre is a great location, their food I don't really dabble with because I don't eat and drink liquor together. Plus I eat with my eyes first and the wings just looked okay at best (but they say never judge a book by its cover right...?) If you're looking to relax you can either come dressed up or casual but I believe you'll enjoy the vibe. Just choose the right night or you might be disappointed. read more

We took an Uber to this place because we were visiting, the entrance was already $80 for 2 people and they were empty it was 40 people At least. When I got a table and got the drinks, the waiter already gave us the check and we asked her why. The waiter said they were already closing with an attitude and the security started screaming at everyone to leave. My friend and I went expecting to not have to pay for cover because we arrived before 10. It clearly states on their flyer that if you get there before 10 on a Saturday the cover is FREE! However, when we arrived well before 10 we were told that we would have to pay $15 each. I showed the cashier their flyer and was sent to the manager. He stated that it was an error on their part but that they would not be able to let us in for free and that they would take the flyer off of the website. This is false advertisement! Beware! Two stars because the drinks were good, and service was lacking. Drink menu price differ from what the final bill was + 20% included tip (for a party of 2) + $10 service fee (no one knows why) and $15 entrance fee (cash at the door-ATM conveniently located ) so it felt a like a scam to be charge $90 for 6 drinks. The music was good with salsas from the 80's , sadly merengues were limited to the 90s decade and the ambiance lends itself to couples dancing and drinking. read more

Beautiful club. Walking in I'm thinking of "I love Lucy" or a vintage furniture store. Plenty of options for seating... at the bar, at one of the high chairs, or at the many comfy couches throughout the room. Large tvs playing music videos through the night, as bright lights and the DJ lures you to the dance floor. The friendliest staff that I've ever experienced! Cuba Libre was unexpectedly extremely fun!!! 5 of us girls (cousins) went, it was our first time although I've been to the one in DC and Philly in the past. We arrived on a Saturday 9/12 around 10pm and it was still kind of early so it was a bit dead. The waitress said folks would start showing a bit later so we decided to stay for a drink, people watching while munching on some empanadas. I thought that due to COVID it may not be too great but I was so wrong. People started trickling in as we were finishing our first drink. One guy offered to buy our whole table a round so we took him up on the offer. He's apparently a regular and does this. As we finished our 2nd drink you began to see people dancing all throughout the venue. Be prepared to dance because you will have guy after guy asking you to dance. We all got a chance to dance a few times to salsa, bachata, merengue, reggeaton and even punta. The only two complaints I have is the lack of enforcement to wear masks if you're not sitting. Not even to dance. I think that part is a bit irresponsible. They are checking your temperature at the door though. And the fact that they play way more bachata than anything else. They barely leave salsa on. You gotta cater to everyone. All in all I would go back and take some more friends. read more

If you don't know how to dance, like actually dance, this is the PERFECT place to start learning. I personally have two left feet and found myself to be comfortable salsaing by end of the night. Their drinks are cheap, which is great when you don't rhythm, because by the end of the night, your dancing like the reincarnated intoxicated version of Michael Jackson. If you want to dine before dancing, the bar is connected & open to Havana Jax, a full service Cuban restaurant. The bar, sitting area, & dance floor are in 1 huge open room with a high ceiling. If you go in before 10pm there is no cover charge! The Friday we went there was a DJ, no live band. Still the place was jumpin by 11pm. We had a great time dancing, Salsa, Bachata, Merengue. The people were friendly, lively & energetic. Our waitress was friendly & attentive. The only disappointment was a really bad glass of house red wine which cost $7. read more

If I could give 0 stars or negative stars I would. I was a professional educator looking to have a good time. Cubra Libre is a hole in the wall with up lighting. They charged 20 dollars to get in and once we entered it was a total of 20 people including my husband and myself. We had friends with a VIP section that arrived later. I was sitting at the top of couch in their section. The server told me to "get off". I simply stated in a non- threatening tone, oh, they let you to sit on the couches like this in Atlanta" & moved instantly. The next thing I know the server pointed to me and said I had to go. I was so confused. The security guard escorted my husband and myself out like criminals. As a professional was embarrassing! And when I simply asked what did I do? I could not get an answer. Imagine wasting 20$ and to encounter someone that woke up with intent to abruise their small power of authority. As a professional to have my character defamed by being escorted out for nothing, is beyond ridiculous. After we left, we heard many others were kicked out as well. I guess they didnt want anyone to party with besides themselves. This complaint begins here but will land in the right hands. I will ensure this doesn't happen to anyone else. I will never attend this hole in the wall again. Save your time and money. Attend XO or hit the riverside area. read more

Not my scene! Place looks more like a venue to host events. Very large open space with a stage, but doesn't look like a nightclub at all. No dress code, so folks wear sneakers, torn (like huge holes) pants, ladies dress like they're going to lounge on a couch at home, just terrible! Music equipment sounded distorted and of poor quality. With so much new music, DJ chose to play music that was old and played out. Just moved here from Miami, so expectations are a bit high, I understand, but come on! This place needs revamping and at the bare minimum, a dress code that they strictly enforce. I see potential, but needs improvements ASAP. Location is also a bit sketchy! Plenty of parking and bartenders are friendly and fast. I also didn't agree with paying $20 at midnight - you're closing down shortly. It's not like you're staying open until 5am! I may try again soon just to see if there is a noticeable improvement. We recently hosted an event at the location, the staff was wonderful and always assisted with a smile, the security was always watching to ensure you felt comfortable throughout the night, the support staff was quick to address any needs - when needed. Worst service I have ever experienced. Waited at bar 10 minutes practically screaming for bar tenders attention and got nowhere. Went to front desk for help they led me to a waiter who took drink order then never returned. After I found him again he sent me back to the bartender who ignored us. Unbelievable. Never again. The second time we walked in and right back out, we wanted to dance, but they had something else going on, also a Friday. The most recent time, we went on Saturday, and it was empty, we started calculating the operation costs vs. the number of people there. Even in our mid to late 30s, we were the youngest people there, and they were playing salsa composed before we were born. Is this place for real? I mean like an actual business that needs a profit margin to stay open. My husband and I are BIG fans of Latin Pop and had really high hopes for this place since Friday nights are supposedly "Latin Pop" night. We went on 4/10/15 around 9:45-midnight. To start - the music is peppered with some Latin type music but mostly it was a combination of R&B - hip hop (oh and some 80's/90's pop as well - STRANGE). Absolutely dreadful and completely disappointing. Now on to the staff - the DJ, bartender and some other guy (manager?) all huddled around the end of the bar by the DJ booth each on their own personal devices, laptop, phone, whatever. The service was so bad it was as if they truly didn't care if anyone was in the facility to dance, drink or spend any money. We did request the DJ to play Enrique Iglesias song which got all of the 8 patrons on the dance floor. Then he quickly went back to the R&B and everyone sat down after that - GET A CLUE MR. DJ and look around and read your audience. NO ONE was dancing to your music - but again - it's like they just don't care. It made us wonder if this operation is a cover or something.....If they actually played top hit Latin Pop we would go back since the facility is nice and is setup for a great party and lots of people. But it's actually rather depressing when you see all the bored faces in this big club with all the empty tables. Sidenote: Saturday night is hard core Salsa, Bachata, etc. dancing and it does get more of a draw. Reminded me of a 1950's Mafioso crowd though. I still don't see how one good night can keep this business open. read more
