i've been wanting to try Cubaneo for a long time because it looks super cute and i love the aesthetics including the menu/logo/etc!! i think their overall vibe is great. the drinks also look amazing and i think they might be what sets Cubaneo apart from other restaurants. the menu is great but pretty much everything on it is really heavy, so you need to be anticipating an inevitable food coma if you come here. i wish they had some lighter menu options, like maybe some sort of salad, i don't know, maybe the omelette is a good choice for that but my friends who got it said it felt like something they could have made at home. i got the cuban wrap and it was really good and i loved the flavors. i also absolutely loved the hot sauce that they have!! it's very vinegary as opposed to being spicy but it was delicious. the staff is also really friendly and nice. would recommend if you're in the mood for a super filling meal:) read more

Regret not coming here sooner!! Well-balanced is how I would describe my entire experience. Cheerful, comfortable, clean space with just enough plants. Music adds to but doesn't overwhelm experience. Menu has something for everyone. I chose the Maria Green salad and added shrimp. Perfect ratio of each ingredient with well-seasoned and perfectly cooked shrimp. The house dressing is sweet and tangy. I finished with a Cuban coffee that complimented the flavors already in my mouth. Top all of that off with not only being served by, but also having a conversation with the owner. I will be back, and will be recommending Cubaneo to anyone looking for a new spot. read more

What a beautiful location! When you step inside, the decor is authentic and the music is upbeat. Their menu includes a wide variety of Cuban classics, as well as twists on American food. Hands down some of the best Cuban food I've had. It's definitely comparable to my experience in Miami's Little Havana. My friend and I came yesterday around 3pm, just in time for their happy hour. They have happy hour every day between 3-5pm. You come in and seat yourself, and there's a QR code at every table that's specifically assigned to your table. You can choose to order for the group or individually, you'll have to put a card on file to either keep your tab open or to check out. The service was friendly, and our orders were accurate. There is a bit of a wait between the time you order to when the food comes out as they make everything fresh. My friend ordered the croquetas, an avocado toast, and two mango mojitos (one spicy and one regular). I had two glasses of mimosas, an order of patatas bravas, and garlic fries with aioli sauce. We both wanted to try their Cubano sandwich, and with us both filling up, we ordered it to go. It came out piping hot, so you know I had to take a bite. The bread was crispy, buttery, and melts in your mouth, evenly coated with your typical Cuban sandwich meats and sauces. You'll have to try it yourself. I also love that they have a machine where they feed in a whole orange, and it not only peels but also juices, so your juice is 100% fruit juice. I'd totally come back when I'm in the area next, and I'd recommend it to anyone in the area looking for authentic Cuban cuisine. read more

Cubaneo delivered an incredible experience. I live in the neighborhood and there are many restaurants to choose from. However, this one really stands out. I started with a coffee (colada). It was so good that I ordered a second one! I ordered the papa rellanas and Cuban wrap that came with pork, rice and beans, maduros, avocado, aoli. Both were full of flavor and delicious. Very cool space, art, design, seating area and cool vibe with nice music. They have beer and wine selection as well as cocktails such as Margaritas / Mojitos, reasonably priced as well as authentic Cuban food selection. We came to this part of town specifically to try Cubaneo. The ambiance and decor was so adorable and felt like a transport to a different place on a cold day. Very nice service. I liked that you could order from your table with the QR code. A rating of the things we got, from lowest to highest: Chicken empanadas- 3/5. They are baked and soft and the chicken didn't have much flavor. The aioli was delicious but there was only a dollop on each empanada- if I could have dipped it in the sauce I think that would have made up for lack of flavor. Iced Carajillo- 4/5. iced espresso cocktail. Fairly sweet. I didn't taste this. $8 during HH Papas rellena- 4/5. again, aioli was amazing and thankfully there was more of it! There was only about 1/2 a teaspoon of meat in each ball and didn't really add flavor to it but the overall taste of the dish was delicious. Cortadito- 4/5. I added dulce de leche for 40 cents and they did some swirls to line the cup but it wasn't stirred in (didn't realize til I'd finished) even so I don't think it was enough to change the flavor of the espresso. Nice strong brew though. Cuban- 5/5. I didn't try it because I don't eat pork but it was raved about. Ropa Viego sandwich- 5/5. Bread was delicious and crisp, meat was perfect, lots of cheese. There were stewed vegetables and the only thing I found odd was the peas because in certain bites I'd get a super starchy pea. Loved the fried plantain strips that came with it as well. Coconut mojito- 5/5. Seriously the best cocktail I've ever had. The alcohol complimented, rather than overpowered the drink. Super strong sweet mint and coconut. $8 during HH. read more

The food was truly great and we loved the atmosphere!! However, they started our table's order all at once and brought them out as they were ready... two cubano sandwiches came out. Five-10 minutes later, the cuban wrap came out. Almost 20 minutes after that, the ribs were served. This would have been fine, had we known before ordering. I asked to make sure the ribs were not forgotten. The server said "yes... it says on the menu it takes 20-30 minutes," and pointed to the printed menu on the counter. I went back to my table to look at the digital menu that we were directed to. It mentions such a delay for a single dish, not all entrees. UPDATE AS OF 2/8/24: they sent a meaningless message to look like they give a damn about their customers. They don't. we were standing in their restaurant, showing them a receipt that verified we had ordered and PAID for a meal, which we never got. Four days later we are still spending OUR time to obtain a refund thanks to their ineptitude. so your little marketing reply? Worthless. And guess what we got via email yesterday? An email from CHOWNOW on your behalf to urge us to order again soon, lol. You guys seem wholly unable to run a business. So take your copy and paste bs someplace else. _______________________________________________________________________________ We've ordered here a few times, and the food is fine, but apparently they are so inept, they still have Chow Now taking their website online orders despite the fact that they do not, in fact, still work with Chow Now. Result? We placed an order, paid for an order, went to pick up said order and were rudely handled by some Gen Z girl with no idea what customer service is, who said WE need to deal with Chow Now. And that was it. No offer to make our order, which was very small, and NO APOLOGY for THEIR screwup. I asked to speak with a manager, because I couldn't believe they were foisting this onto us and showing zero sign of caring about our business at all. And we waited. And waited. And waited. And finally we left. The lack of service or professionalism is ridiculous. We won't both going back. For reference, I worked in restaurants for many years and the correct way to handle this (aside from making sure you did not still have a company taking orders on your website which you no longer work with???) is to APOLOGIZE, take the order, fast track the order and given that we'd paid for it, comp our very small order, and offer some water or a soft drink while we wait. THAT is how you handle your locals and regulars, and customers you want to retain. Any decent business would do exactly that. This place? They give zero f's. Can't wait to see what new business ends up in that spot. With that kind of attitude and ineptitude it won't be long. read more

The food was very tasty for a lunch sandwich and I would definitely go back to try more. The sandwich didn't come with any sides, which left me still hungry after. The entrees are delicious if you can get past a cluttered poorly designed interior and haphazard ambiance. You order at the counter. The woman at the register seems unfamiliar with most meals and ownership of the cafe. Unhelpful and off putting. Also not a good listener. She added extra things to our order without confirming. We told her we wanted to share two dishes. She charged us for three dishes and added an extra side dish. Any dish we asked about she added to the order. And not a welcoming way to greet people who've never eaten at your restaurant. It's really too bad because the churassco and yucca fries are quite good. If more attention was paid to plating and to table service, this restaurant would probably be a lot more crowded. read more

Sizeable mushroom tamale was like a homey corn casserole w gently seasoned mushrooms and cheese. Papa rellena was a crispy gooey potato ball with a savory filling. Was staying at the Hotel Versey and ordered pickup through chownow. Had a Cuban sandwich and Arroz con Pollo (takes 25-30m prep, so be forewarned). 5 minute walk, painless pickup. The Arroz was worth the wait: piping hot, delicious, tender shredded meat, perfectly cooked rice, and a yummy hunk of plantain. 5 stars. The Cuban sandwich was tasty but I'm still wearing my socks. There wasn't much depth of flavor in the meat, and the bread was very greasy. It came with the tiny crispy fries within the bag-- nice touch. Generous portion sizes for both. I look forward to trying more of their menu (guava pancakes?!) and updating my review. read more

I was pretty disappointed by their cubano. An entire fourth didn't have anything in it, and there was still some bites that were just bread in the rest of the sandwich. They use brioche bread, which is kind of strange it tatse sweet and doesnt toast well. I'm not sure if it was the bread choice or lack of filling, but the sandwich tasted sweet and bready, not at all what i expect a cubano to taste like. read more
