I don't get the hype. $10 for a small-ish burger, that's kinda dry and is just a burger? Then another $4 for rosemary fries that are pretty basic. They were super friendly and service was great! It took about 15 minutes to get our food which was fine because I assume they made it fresh. But it really wasn't very busy other than the DoorDash people who kept coming in. Cubby's is one of my favorites because the food is always consistently good but tonight I was so irritated. They close at 10pm and I went in at 9:25pm and they were already acting like they were closed. I get getting started on closing duties but the staff was so rude about me wanting to order as if they were closing in 5 minutes. Checking their watches, looking at each other and then looking at me annoyed. While I was eating my food (which was still 9:40 at this point) they started turning of the lights!! I was so irritated I got up and left. Customer service matters to me and every time I come to this location the customer service gets worse and worse. I am a firm believer in ambiance and dining experience, so a COVID-19 drive thru review might have a little bias. That being said, I was just a little disappointed in the 3 times I have eaten here. I love Biscuits and Gravy, but the biscuit was probably one of the worse ones I've had around here. The breakfast burrito was lots of seasoning but not a lot of flavor. The Dragonslayer burger was good, it had some green and purple lettuce on it, which I think had some great flavor and really added to the burger, instead of the usual iceberg water lettuce that just soaks the bun at a typical fast food. Unfortunately, we ordered 3 of the same burgers in our order, and they forgot the bleu cheese on all. 9 bucks for a small burger where I remember the lettuce the most? I know it's a hard time for everyone, especially local restaurants. I am much more inclined to support a local place than a chain, but there are other local places with better burgers. I live in Orem and was really excited when I saw the Orem store opening. I've eaten many times at the Provo, Spanish Fork and American Fork stores. The fries at the Orem store are consistently soggy and limp. Sometimes even stale. Every time I go through the drive-through I ask for my fries made fresh, crispy and tell them I'm willing and happy to wait longer for them. Only twice out of maybe 10 times they actually made me fresh crispy fries. Do people in Orem actually prefer their fries floppy and limp? I just went through the drive-through today at 3 pm and again received old stale limp fries after asking for fresh crispy fries. For $3.50? With a $9 chicken sandwich. It was slow, no line at the drive though, no reason for this. I love your food and I'm willing to pay your prices for quality food but you're beginning to lose me as a customer. read more

Healthy food with a good variety of salads. My trip-tip steak salad was ok. I expected the meat to be a little more tender and not as dry. I think the meat may have been cooked for a while. Tried this place for the first time today. I ordered the tri tip salad and the Gypsy. On the Gypsy the only good part was the meat and bun were a good quality. The bbq sauce was weak and sweet which they should have balanced out with a pickle or crispier patty. The bacon seemed like a poor quality. The onions were not Caramelized enough to pair with the bbq sauce. On the Tri Tip Salad the steak wasn't seasoned at all making it bland. The lemon Cilantro vinaigrette had a touch to much cilantro to taste. The other aspects of the salad worked together but the vinaigrette flavor and steaks blandness didn't make it a 4 star salad. The meal was also pretty price in comparison with other restaurants I've been to which have better burgers and salads. read more

My family and I love the food here, but ever since the Orem location has opened (right around the corner from our place), we have always gotten our order wrong when doing take out (4 or 5 times). Today, I ordered a Tri-Tip Steak Sandwich with sweet BBQ and extra BBQ on the side. The receipt explicitly lays this out, but when we got home, I had no BBQ on the sandwich and no BBQ on the side. When our cashier read the order (which we had them do twice), they mentioned the BBQ on the sandwich and on the side, and still no BBQ. THIS HAS HAPPENED EVERY TIME WE HAVE GONE! It really isn't that hard to get right. Unfortunately we are officially DONE with Cubby's. Portions are down, prices are up, but what's worse is the taste is gone. I got the half lemon chicken salad for 9 bucks, which consisted of a little lettuce, a couple of tiny cherry tomatoes, a couple of slices of Parmesan cheese, a few croutons, and a TINY bit of chicken. The dressing seriously had NO TASTE!! I know, I know--we can talk about Covid and supply chain economics and inflation and all that, but it's just not worth it to us to have a tiny, tasteless meal that cost this much. Bought some sweet potato fries (X2). On both instances, the bag of fries was half full. On our second order of fries, it took more than 25 minutes to get them. Seriously?! I had had enough of this s***. We had waited for 25 minutes, and my wife went up to see where our fries were. It's worth nothing that we saw several orders of fries just sitting up at the counter, waiting for a runner to take them. My wife was told that we just have to wait, as orders are sent out in order. ALL WE HAD ORDERED WERE SWEET POTATO FRIES!!!! I didn't know it was so damn hard to give us our order of sweet potato fries. Once our fries were finally delivered, the bag was half full, just like the first order. I took them up and talked to the cashier and a manager lady. They claimed that all fries are weighed on a scale, so they are all the same size. BS!!!! I went to this same location a week or so ago with my wife and sister, and our sweet potato fries were overflowing out of the bag. Never again will I order sweet potato fries from here. Don't know that I will ever return, actually. Also, bought a $10 salad and had maybe an ounce or two of steak. Very hesitant to give me a refund, even after throwing my sweet potato fries away. The manager claimed she would be able to look up my order and automatically refund my fries. I'll be surprised if we actually get a refund. I recently went through the drive-thru last Saturday during the lunch hour. My order was ready in about 7 minutes and when I got to my house (10 minutes later) my rosemary fries were still PIPING HOT . Great work! I knew I was risking cold fries but they kept their heat/deliciousness and my salad was made exactly to order. If you haven't tried the wild rice and kale salad, you're missing out for sure! Pro tip: swap for the jalapeño ranch dressing for a little extra flavor. I'm excited for this new location! read more
