This location was very clean, the staff was very friendly, and the time it took to order and receive our food was surprisingly quick during the lunch rush. Chicken was moist and juicy. Fries were Kringle cut and crispy with what appears to be season salt. I would give the chicken 9/10. Seasoned fries 7/10 due to some burnt fries. My favorite hot chicken place, and I've been to a bunch. I prefer the one on Lehi Main Street compared to the traverse mountain location. It's more comfortable and roomy. Service is quick and friendly. Food comes out quick and fresh and hot. I haven't been all that adventuresome and ordered something blazing hot. The milder spice levels. Always a great sandwich. I have been twice now and this second time was not as good as the first. I think this place has the best french fries around. I also like their chicken tenders but this last time I went it was a little bit dry. I was surprised to find they actually added a 20% tip to my order when it was for takeout. I'm happy to tip a place that actually serves me food, beverages, and so on- but I'm not going to tip a place where I go and get it myself. I went to the Houston Hit Chicken a few weeks ago. Do not plan to go to this location in the winter...it was 55 degrees inside. When I asked one of the crew to turn on the furnace, she replied there no was furnace. This store has entire window frontage facing south. It was so uncomfortable they we ended up going to Starbucks to get warm. The two employees of the store remained huddled in the kitchen near the fryers so they could stay warm. There was trash throughout the store as I guessed it was too cold to pick things up for the crew. Will not return as it was a horrible experience. When it first opened, Houston's was great! Now it sucks! We have eaten there a bunch and taken it to go a bunch, but we won't be back. Our chicken sandwiches were cold. I was the only customer (on a Sunday at 5PM). They could have taken as long as they needed to cook us fresh ones, but they gave us ones that had been sitting under heat lamps (they admitted as much) for who knows how long. The order was wrong in two different ways - wrong items and wrong condiments. And the fries were WAY over seasoned. The chicken sandwiches being cold was the dealbreaker. I had to drive back to get a refund, which I really didn't appreciate at all. It's sad that such a great restaurant turned to complete crap so quickly. read more

Particular shout out to Damien (the manager, he took my order himself) and Ken who brought the food to my table and would check in making sure I'd gotten everything I needed. The food was great too.
