Don't trust this place! We had to use a storage unit for a few months, well everything they "offer" wasn't actually offered. The 24/7 security, after hours access both were taken away within 1 month of renting from them. Also a super nice surprise, we went to check on our unit and someone broke into it! Due to the gates being open and no one actually keeping an eye on what's going on, our unit along with a few others had locks broken. They stole a storage container with all of my nicest bags and makeup supplies. Some bags I've had passed down to me. When asked on how to solve the issue, they said I would need to provide receipts on when they were purchased to even be considered any sort of reimbursement. Also didn't seem very concerned that there was obvious crime going on. So don't use this place it's a waste of money. read more

They are awful. Stay away, especially if you are military, federal, or looking for long-term storage. They raise rates on a "haha" scale, and they are open to burglary and invasion. They stripped their own keypad access, allowing thieves in to destroy locks and property, and access to lockers. You might get a good deal, if you're in it for a couple of months...but the theft, leaving the BACK GATE open, and disabling the door keys so that it allowed their thieves to get access seems a "heck no" to me. read more

This storage company advertises rates that are then raised every six months. I have rented a vehicle space as well as a larger unit here for two years. THERE ARE PEOPLE LIVING IN UNITS HERE and there have been problems with vehicle burglary. The goal of this business is to lure you in with discount services that appear to be more competitive than other providers in the area and then raise rates above what you could pay somewhere else. I asked if I could move into a smaller unit to save money because I could no longer afford the unit I had because rates had been raised so high and I was told I would not receive any promotional pricing and would pay above the cost a new customer would. The female manager is difficult and has the brain of a kipper. read more

Visited this facility at the end of the day. Grace was extremely helpful and didn't even seem to mind that our conversation went way past closing time. Ultimately I decided I'd rather have an indoor place for my things, and she made a recommendation that was perfect for me. She even offered to help me reserve at that place! Overall my experience was good while renting here. Everything is pretty convenient especially the $10 truck rental. They keep it pretty secure, I didn't witness any robberies while renting here. Grace the manager is very nice so if you have any issues you can really count on her helping to fix the situation. The only issue I had was one time the gate broke or something when I tried to leave and I had to call someone to open it up for me because it was after business hours. Just started using the storage here this past weekend and have so far had a pleasant experience. The price to rent a 3x4 space is very reasonable, or so it seems, at $38 which includes insurance. When I arrived on a Saturday AM, I had to fill out a survey and a personal information sheet---which took all of 5 minutes, and then was shown a unit which I could use or decide on something bigger. The friendly lady that operates the place zipped me around in a golf cart and was quite helpful. After you choose a unit, you receive a code to enter the gate and then another to enter the door to your unit (if using the smaller units) and then you're free to store your stuff. Overall, it was pretty painless and easy. I would advise bringing your own lock with key as those sold on the premises are at exorbitant price levels, but other than that, there's much to like here. Hopefully, no issues occur with the storage in meanwhile and months from now I'll have more positive to report. read more

December 24th, and I am sick as a dog with a lung infection. The phone rings at 5:00 PM. It's the manager of the CubeSmart(U-Store-It) telling me my storage garage has been broken into. I put on my robe and slippers and drive to the facility only to see many other customers there in the failing daylight, attempting to remove belongings from their also-burglarized units. I am too sick and too weak to move my garage contents. So I attempt to secure my unit. The latch was one of those stamped aluminum slider thingies into which you put your padlock. Mine had been destroyed with one cut through the aluminum on either side of the padlock hasp. I begged the manager to allow me to replace my latch from one of her empty vacant units. She refused. So there I worked, in my slippers, in the dark and the cold and the snow, vainly attempting to secure my unit with a screw gun and sheet metal screws. After an hour, I was exhausted, drove home and collapsed. I awake at 9:00 AM and after some coffee, return to my storage unit, only to find the door open and the rest of my stuff scattered about, all the costly stuff missing. The manager arrived, apologized profusely for my second burglary, and NOW permitted me to remove a latch from one of their vacancies to hopefully save what was left. As it turned out, the Company was apparently very short-handed, and pulled off the manager nights to watch another facility. There was no one there at night. Due to complaints from the neighbors, they had turned-off the alarm system to the facility!! I had used this storage facility for years before it was acquired by CubeSmart. The elderly manager couple were always there and responded quickly to any problems. Everything is different now. Corporate owned, and profit hungry, CubeSmart couldn't give a HOOT about their customers. That facility is at 2001 Girard SE, Albuquerque. Reply to DANA J. of CubeSmart .....With an estimated $45,000 in monthly rentals coming in from that facility, your Corporation should have ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM maintaining tight security and full staffing. NEGLIGENCE is the only word that describes your failure to replace those cheesy latches with STEEL latches, and your failure to keep the facility monitored. The previous management had no problem doing that in the twenty years prior that I used the Girard facility. "Reach Out" my patooty..! You are not about to replace my stolen goods. The fact that DHL is using your facility is stunning to me. Are they using the same cheesy door latches?? Someone needs to clue them in. I won't be back. read more
