The team in LA was great. It's expensive but a great option if you are ok packing yourself. The team in NM was more than a disappointment. The driver was the exception. Our PODS journey began out of state. Once we had our new address we quickly scheduled the delivery of our three PODS. The first two were delivered by Nathaniel who was mindful of plants near our driveway and since he was delivering the second one, he advised us how our second one would go on the rock area near our driveway. Bryan also staggered the two on the driveway giving me room to park my vehicle. Although our third container was not delivered the same day as the other two, even though we had ordered it so, PODS quickly made it up by delivering the very next day by Nathaniel. Before we got straight to work, we booked our the earliest pick up dates available which gave us the weekend to unload all three PODs. When the day came to pick up the PODs both Nathaniel and Bryan came bright and early. They manuevered both PODs at the same time which helped since one POD was on the street. Later on PODs sent Vinnie to pick up our last POD. The staff was respectful, knowledgable, kind, punctual and efficient. We are grateful for the Albuquerque crew. Thank you. read more

This review is specifically for Michael Archuletta out of the Albuquerque location. This man needs a raise or a bonus. I see this location has only 1.5 stars, well my experience with Michael was 6 stars! Maybe he needs to be promoted so that he can influence the rest and spread his very positive can-do attitude. There was an unforeseen issue with his truck while picking up our POD. The whole time he wasn't pissed or complaining how it would affect him or his day... but instead he was creative problem solving to try to still get our POD picked up, so it wouldn't be delayed for transport across the nation. I am truly grateful that he was the driver because if it was someone else they would have just given up. We had to try many options to finally get it to work. And this happened to be the day that is snowed earlier.... So it was cold!! He was appreciative of my help/efforts, it was a team effort and it was a success. I wish I knew the name of the tow truck driver. He also saved the day. Thanks to all to who helped to get it done. One suggestion: these drivers need a very strong headlamp so they can do there work safely, now that it's getting dark out. Thanks again Michael! We have used Pods for years (out of dallas, out of houston) you name it, all are fantastic no issues. We've had a pod scheduled for delivery for 1.5 months, 12 hours before they tell us, Oh we never got this delivery approved by our warehouse, you'll get your pod 5 days later..... I told them "WE are MOVING, we have sold our home, if we still have stuff here we are liable... to which they message us back and say "you'll have the pod tomorrow..." 2 hours go by, get a text message "Unfortunately we never got the delivery approved by the warehouse so it will have to be 2 days later. If their is any concern please contact customer service.... so I spend 1.25 hours on the phone the customer service calls the pod manager who then. Re-Re changes the delivery date back to 5 days later, despite us reading a text out loud from them which we had received 1 hour earlier saying it would be just 1 day later. To which the incompetent storage manager essentially said "too bad you're fcked" I hope this man gets everything in life that he deserves read more

I used PODS to move from Va. to NM. This is the fourth time I have used PODS. The other 3 were for storage during renovations. I did not use PODS movers to load or unload my unit. I only used them for transport. That being said, the POD arrived in NM when promised. All my belongings were fine. I would use PODS again, it's cost effective. My one suggestion, hire really experienced packers to load it. It needs to be tight (no shifting) and well cushioned. read more

A disclaimer allows the company to place the POD at the "driver's discretion", which for us was a 25 minute drive away from our house not in the driveway as promised. Then they picked up our POD 2 days early with no notice and for no reason causing the contents to appear as if they went through a rock tumbler. In addition to my shock when I went out to pack the POD only to find the POD disappeared, there is no 24 hour help line nor GPS on the POD. So, we just didn't know where our possessions were and received zero customer service. Then, once we tracked it down the next day, because it was picked up early, boxes that had started neatly stacked but not ready for transport were smashed and strewn throughout the POD 24 hours before the real pick up date. Finally, despite all of this truly awful moving experience, the Company did not apologize, but rather offered me about a $200 credit if I sign a form barring me from leaving reviews like this one for other potential customers. We had previously moved using a long-haul carrier. I think it was Atlas? That cost us about $5,000 in 2006. We thought we'd save money and gain flexibility with PODs, but in the end, using this method cost us $4,770 once all of the ancillary costs were factored in but with a TON more work, aggravation, and anxiety on our part. PODs just isn't worth it. My dad, who worked his whole career in moving & storage always used to say, "Customer service is about how a company acts when things go wrong." PODs was AWOL when the many aspects of this move went wrong. Do yourself a favor, and for a long-distance move . . . (Ours was about 1,500 miles) just hire real movers. read more

This is an update to my review regarding PODS on 3/31 and 4/7. Althoug they posted on Yelp that they would address this, they never did. It cost me so much money because of their negligence. I complained to Better Business Bureau. PODs lied to BBB, saying they had made me an offer that I rejected. They never made me an offer or had their promised "escalation" person contact me IN 60 DAYS. If there is an offer, where is it? In my last response to them on Better Business Bureau, I asked them to produce the offer to Better Business Bureau. Let's see if they do that. When a company makes an honest mistake, I understand. but when there is deliberate intent to falsify the truth and lie about an offer that somehow they can't produce and pretending that I rejected said offer, I have a problem with that. It's called a scam. it looks like a lawsuit will be the only thing they will understand. read more

If you're moving to New Mexico I wouldn't recommend using PODS. I recently moved from a mobile home park in Florida (where PODS) is headquartered. They picked up the POD with no problem on a very narrow street with a device that is meant to maneuver in small spaces. My driveway was small, but they were able to place it there. When I called to have it delivered today, I was told I would receive a phone call to let me know when the driver was nearby. (This was done in Florida on drop off and pick up) Surprise! in a state where customer service is wishful thinking, NO ONE called me and they proceeded to drop it in the street before I could get there. When I called the toll free number I was greeted by a nice lady in the Philippines who tried to call the ABQ warehouse but "no one was answering the phone." I finally got a number to call for the ABQ warehouse but got a surly and not especially nice 'manager Tim' who said there wasn't anything he could do since he was driving a truck to a repair shop. He was more interested in complaining to me than helping me. He finally got in touch with the drivers who dropped the POD in the street who said they couldn't fit it in the driveway. When I asked Tim why they didn't use the device as they did in Florida he had no idea what I was talking about. His solution was to ask me, "what do you want me to do now?" I moved to the capital city of Santa Fe where most streets are narrow and curved. Why doesn't New Mexico have the same equipment to deal with this as Florida does? I'll never recommend PODS to anyone looking for moving solutions. PODS SUCKS (PART TWO) to add insult to injury, The day the POD was supposed to be picked up came and went. NO phone Call to advise but when I called they said they'd pick it up the next day. Guess what..it wasn't picked up and is still sitting in the street. Wonder if they'll come today? Not holding my breath. Again..New Mexico has no support staff sufficient to run their operation. If you want a smooth seamless move don't use PODS. read more

UPDATE: PODS still sucks. They want me to send a direct message, that's cute...for whatever reason the message window keeps saying "OOPS Something went wrong", not sure who to blame, Yelp or PODS or my computer. Soooo, I called customer service twice again. They looked really hard at my weight tickets while I was on hold for about 10 minutes, agreed that they are not correct, and said the only thing they could do was send another message to the facility...I will not hold my breath. Also asked for a direct email or phone number, you guessed it...cant do that, against policy. Also found out the date they drop it off is when your storage clock starts and they do not prorate the month, so keep that in mind, even when you are storing it...for them...at your house...it was probably in the contract, TLDR. My total cost was $6712.98, for two 16' PODS and "two months" of storage, shipped from ABQ to Niceville, FL. Not sure I will come close to breaking even on that. My next update will be when they don't get back to me next week. PODS really takes the cake for worthless, garbage customer service. read more

You'll stay on hold for nearly an hour, your connected to someone who can barely speak English, after a difficult interaction they transfer you to someone else. I will never recommend PODS. We are building a house and we have items stored in the POD. They originally dropped it in the middle of the street and they didn't even communicate to us when they were going to drop it off. Then they came to move it and destroyed our wall. My wife filed a claim and they investigated it and claimed that they didn't do it. There is no possible way anyone else could have destroyed the wall other than the driver for the POD company due to its location. If you use this company, make sure you look at things very closely so they don't damage anything because they won't pay for any damages they cause because they do their own investigations. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY OR YOU'LL HAVE TO PAY FOR ANY DAMAGES THEY CAUSE!! read more

I was given an estimate of f 6 days for Pods delivery from Long Beach Ca. When I called to schedule the drop off I was given a 25 day estimate. When choosing where to store the Pod, in CA or NM, I was never told to store it in NM for quicker delivery. Would never recommend this service for moving. I was given misinformation the entire time. I was also told the POD would be in Santa Fe where I could access it and make other arrangements for delivery. Only to find it would not be in Santa Fe, but Albuquerque for 13 days prior to delivery. They blamed the over 19 day delay on the 4th of July holiday. 2 days delay seems more likely to me than 19. I have no other options at this point and am basically being held hostage. Yikes. Big thumbs down. But looks like I am not the only one who has been mis treated by the reviews. read more

I recently moved from Sonoma County, CA, to Corrales, NM. After doing a lot of research regarding quality of service throughout the duration of the move, professionalism, pricing and punctuality, I selected PODS. From the first phone call, PODS provided the service and courtesy I had hoped for. They were patient and knowledgeable re: service details, date changes and general concerns about the moving process. Hold times were brief, and representatives very professional. With one exception (when POD was delivered, the driver seemed rushed to get it off the truck and onto the ground, and for an scary few minutes, the POD was dangling in the air, teetering up and down), the drivers were clearly experienced and knowledgeable, as well as courteous. I'd like to give a shout-out to Bryan D from the Albuquerque location, who did the final pick up. Of all the drivers, he really knew his stuff, and was as courteous and professional as I'd hoped for from a PODS staff member. Kudos, Bryan. Kudos, PODS. read more

Had my Pod scheduled to be picked up today. But I never got a time window email or text, so I called the corporate line to make sure it was going to be picked up, as we were closing on the sale the next day. The Pods person could not get a hold of the abq center but assured me I was on the list of pods to get picked up that day. Sure enough, the day goes by and the Pod is still there. I close on the sale tomorrow but still have a huge container in the driveway thanks to Pods' incompetence. Our construction is done and both my neighbor and our homeowners association are furious that this thing is sitting here taking up parking. The company was a day late delivering my pod, they were supposed to arrive at 8am but didn't show up until 6pm with no phone call. When they arrived with the pod it had a forklift hole in the side and the drive did not have a patch kit in the truck so they said they would bring me another pod in the morning. This caused me to have to reschedule my other moving truck and compressing the time I have to drive to PHX and back. On the the day of PODs pickup they didn't even bother to show up. They were supposed to come from 4:30 to 7:30 and were suppose to call prior to coming. No phone call either time. The pick up driver calls at the front gate, I didn't recognize the number and figured it was Junk because it was only 2:30pm. He leaves a message saying he cant get in the front gate so I will have to reschedule. He could have waited at the front gate for 5 mins and followed someone thru. At 7pm I look to see where my driver is on the website and it still says 4:30 to 7:30 so I call the 800 number, I end up talking to someone in india that cant help me so I ended up having to reschedule my pick up 5 days later. Now the pod will sit in my driveway for 5 days with no one home which is what I did not want. You know delivery and pickup is not brain surgery, you could practically train a monkey to see that very BASIC instructions are FOLLOWED 1. Call the client, tell them you are on the way, this is in the email you send clients. The driver will call to let you know he is on the way, unless you live in Albuquerque then you can just sit around and guess when they might be coming if they come at all. 2 Show up in the time window you are scheduled for. 3. If you are early or late again call the client and let them know. This is not brain surgery but for the management in Albuquerque it must be. I never blame workers I blame lame management as workers are just a reflection of the management team they report to. read more

Ugh, I just spoke to these guys today since we're moving out of state at the end of the month and they were AWFUL. The man I spoke to on the phone was pushy, rude and audibly exasperated when I tried to explain my situation to him. Rather than offering me options and solutions, he interrupted me multiple times and continually pressured me to put a deposit down. On what? Customer service will correct in two weeks and charge me. I won't pay more as it is already expensive. Took my money for my order of a POD, then they decided they couldn't put the POD where I wanted it on my rural property, so I cancelled my POD order but THEN two months later PODS took $766 out of my account, saying I had two orders! So I called last Weds to complain and they said they would refund the $766. I'm still waiting for a refund (6 days later) to show up in my bank. I received an invoice for 454.90. It was for a unit at the storage center. I never requested one. I had contacted PODS by phone and looked up info online for a future move. The thing is that they will not rent a unit to you unless it's been pre-paid and you sign a contract. Neither of those occurred. So why was I billed? Was there a salesperson trying to make a commission? Customer service is in FL and the excuse was they were getting ready to close on a Friday and an account manager would try to get back to me on Monday. I threatened bad reviews, contacting the BBB, and taking them to Small Claims Court if the situation was not rectified. Luckily, I never provided credit card info. Buyer BEWARE!!!! read more

Zero stars is not low enough to describe their customer service, phone menu and website. The telephone menu runs thru a loop (press 1, etc) and then it dumps you right back into the starting point and you start press 1 all over again. I have a pods sitting in my parking lot and their web site says it has no record of me or my email address!!! When I got the thing (they did actually deliver it!!) but I was up til 11:30 PM on the phone trying to confirm a delivery window. Several people promised emails to confirm and I never did get an email. PODS if you are listening, come get the thing before I pull it out into the street. My tenant's belongings would be better protected with a tarp, even a tarp with holes in it. Next time I will pitch a tent in the parking lot. PODS is the worst thing I have ever dealt with - even government offices are more efficient. Their telephone service might as well use American Sign language. Shitty does not adequately describe them. Once they get your credit card number they don't care, you are toast. These people just have no shame. Nothing is too low for them. read more

The PODS delivery driver Albuquerque to Santa Fe did not want to be working on the Friday he delivered my POD complaining the entire time. Right off the bat he refused to provide an ETA eventually delivering to the wrong location which only made him more irate. When he re-placed the POD in the correct location he placed it partially in the street's traffic lane out of spite. The Albuquerque warehouse manager was not phased by this terrible service. Just another day at the office was my impression. Keep in mind PODs gives you a lot of free delivery and pickup on the front end to get your stuff in their POD. They get you on the back end with steep re delivery charges and storage rates. They will disclose their local charges up front. If you need to move out of state there will be much higher storage and re delivery rates which they call national rates. Those will not be disclosed to you up front. read more

A thief ... we had 5 pods, 4 paid in full, car wreck happened and we fell behind in payments the 5th one only. They withheld all pods causing more charges on to be incurred. Don't EVER give them access to your banking information (card or checking) as they will run them into the ground. They did this on two of my different banks. I'm not certain how a company with such bad customer service can stay in business. I called to make a reservation. The quote was within reason, so I booked it. I got the paperwork and saw that I was being charged $60 a month for insurance that I didn't need. I called back, was assured that I would receive a credit and have the insurance charge removed from future billing. I received a confirmation, you guessed it, with the insurance charge. I called again. This time the person was snippy. She claimed that it was an IT error. I asked when it would be fixed. She said, "Well I don't know! It gets fixed when it gets fixed." That was it. I cancelled the order. Turns out they had already charged me over $400 for a deposit. Three weeks later, I'm still waiting for a refund. I just filed a dispute with my card company. The CS at ABF and 1-800-Pack-Rat better, and they are negotiable on the rates if you have a quote from Pods. read more

Misleading pricing - charges on top of charges. The ads say rent a POD for under $200.mo, however there is a $70 delivery fee, then the monthly rental fee up to $160, then a $10 container insurance fee (not for your belongings, just for THEIR container), then another $60 pick up fee and ANOTHER $60 delivery fee to the new location. PODS was so convenient. I have used them twice for storage. The delivery people were prompt, and took great care in placing the Pod in my driveway. When I found the Pod I had ordered was too small they right away exchanged it for a larger one. I will definitely use them again. read more

The PODS driver who dropped the POD off was extremely helpful and professional. He was curteous and on time, and described the best way to pack the unit. He then explained how the POF gets loaded and shipped across country. Then, right on time - after going across country (travelled from MASS to New Mexico) when the unit was opened, not a thing was out of place! There was a lot of valuable paintings and glass frames packed on board. Not one single thing was broken!! But before the drivers even did their thing, the service associates were great to work with. They were extremely knowledgeable, and could provide me with precise information on delivery, and travel times. They were very accommodating and very assuring and made us very confident that our delivery (which occurred during winter) would be delivered on time. On a scale from 1-10- I would whole heartedly rate it a 10+!! And because pick up, packing and delivery is their only service/ they can concentrate on only that service, and aren't scattered. What started out in August as a complete NIGHTMARE with PODS my end result turned out to be incredible. Originally my POD was delivered to Salem, Oregon and it was punctured both on the side and the back. The driver Sean was impatient, rude, pushy, and dismissive of my genuine concerns about these large punctures. He said "listen lady it's the dead of summer and it's fine. Anyway, it is going back to a climate controlled wharehouse." Then he proceeded to tell me "I have a lot more pickups and drop offs today I can't take all day discussing this with you" As I was already maxed out and emotional ( I mean really? Who isn't when you sell your house and try to move across country?) I let it go and tried to keep calm. Well, wouldn't you just know it? It absolutely dumped buckets of rain not even two days later!!! And guess what? All my paintings, wood carvings, mirrors, and various other items became warped due to water flowing into the POD. I removed all the items and rented huge fans to dry out my belongings. Called PODS in absolute defeat and tears. I spoke with a very calm and nice man in Florida. He actually thanked me for being the nicest disgruntled customer. And let's be real it wasn't his fault this happened, so how could I rip his head off? I really wanted to give this Sean guy a piece of my mind though. I made it very clear I never wanted Sean back at my home and I wanted to speak to a local manager. Guess who showed up Monday? Yep Mr. Sean. His solution was to patch the holes and call it a day. He further tried to say I must've caused the damage!!!! I have pictures of the darn thing still on the flatbed with the holes already there prior to ever being put in my driveway. So I never did hear from the local manager. Over a week later I receive a call from the claims dept. And an email directing me how to file my claim. I was so disheartened. I paid $2700- to effectively have my very few chosen belongings I was keeping, ruined. So I finally schedule my delivery of my POD to Santa Fe, NM. And Steve R. from the Albuquerque location calls me at 8:30AM and says I will be there at 9AM. Guess who pulls up on the dot right at 9? Indeed Mr. Steve R. Not only was he on time but he informed me that his machine just couldn't make the turn to get my POD into the location I needed it to be in. And further he recognized that he couldn't put it on the street due to the city ordinances. So this man made an executive decision to set it down smack in the center of my shared driveway and let me unload it. However, he didn't stop there. He took it upon himself to help me knock on the neighbors doors and explain to everyone what needed to happen. He pulled out of the driveway to let everyone move their cars out, he assisted me in rolling the door up due to the fact that somehow all my belongings had shifted forward and broken the straps. So he made sure I didn't cause any damage to the door. Then all my wonderful neighbors came to the rescue and helped me unload the POD. Mr. Steve R. then loaded the POD back up and took it back with him to Albuquerque. He didn't fuss about the time, he didn't pressure me, he didn't do a darn thing except make the last leg of my journey wonderful and filled with ease and peace. I may have thrown him off schedule but he did the right thing. When someone pays nearly $3000- for something to be shipped to you it's nice to have someone be kind and take their time. I only wish all the employees at PODS were as wonderful and attentive as Steve. Granted many of my belongings are still damaged and I still have to go through the claims portion of it all. But to be greeted with genuine compassion and utmost moral character at the end of it all truly lifted my spirits! Honestly if I was this mans' manager I would commend him for making such an awesome judgement call. There was just no way around what needed to happen. I hope no one ever gets Sean in Oregon, and I hope and pray everyone has a guy like Steve R. show up at their door!!! read more
