Don't use. Step above college kids moving, I guess and prices probably reflect that. I didn't…read moreresearch all the movers ahead of time. Schlocky. Don't listen. Unprofessional. My story: 1. Move was pushed to 5:15 pm on a Saturday. I was told "move was easy", that is probably why they shifted moving crews around. I waited all day. They originally said window was 2-5 pm. I was ready at 1 pm. 2. Only two movers listened to my move order. The third (who unexpectedly seemed to run the show) was off smoking or something. Third mover repeatedly picked up items that were not discussed, labeled, not meant to go. A bed is now in my apartment for which I have no room 3. The reason I hired movers was one specific piece, a glass-fronted bookcase I had waited years to save up for and buy. The mover whined about its weight. Then whined about getting it up stairs. I said it is a half-flight, carpeted (if I were younger, I could shove it up stairs, lifting not required). Why they lifted it when they (and I) had dollies right there, I told them I dollied it in, and they have a lift at the truck, I have NO idea. We discussed potentially leaving it at the dumpster were it too heavy 4. On unload, bookcase left to last. Be aware, it was the biggest, most valuable, most important piece to me and THE INLY READIN I HIRED MOVERS. What do you know. No room in apartment. I sacrificed it. Third mover took it home. Somehow, I bet he managed any steps he has at his home just fine. The entire experience left me with a bitter taste in my mouth, as though these unprofessionals whined, manipulated and cheated me.

Initially they said we had only a few (10) boxes over the estimate and we agreed to it adding extra time, but then they said we needed another vehicle. Throughout the move the lead mover told us they were getting a second truck or a van, but it never came. They then said it would come the next day, but then no one would call us back. Now they've left us in the lurch, and charged $1500 to move a small 3 bed into another small 3 bed 5 minutes away. We had a faster, better experience when moving across states, travel time included! The movers themselves worked very hard, but the company itself is poorly run. STAY AWAY!!!

The dispatcher Paul needs anger management lessons…read more My friend recently moved across town and ordered Man With A Van movers as they had good experiences with the company in the past. Man With A Van gave my friend two quotes: a cheaper quote for Two Guys with a Van and a more expensive quote for Three Guys with a Truck. My friend sent the more expensive rate for Three Guys with a Truck. But then this dispatcher tried the blame game of "You didn't specify Truck" when to our surprise only Two Guys and a Van showed up. Lemme ask you a question. If I offer you a hotdog for $3 and a burger for $4, and you hand me 4 dollars, wouldn't anyone with a working brainstem assume that meant YOU WANTED THE BURGER? But my friend was sweet and offered: "Maybe y'all can come back tomorrow with three guys and a truck, because it's really a three person job", to which the movers declined. After a quick call, the dispatcher said there'd be no additional charge for extra trips due to the smaller vehicle. What's more is that one of the two Movers had a bad back and couldn't take the stairs like the other dude. So at some points the job is only getting done by one dude (you could argue one-and-a-half dudes). If THREE guys should be able to make the move of loading and unloading in TWO hours, then HALF that much manpower means... you guessed it: it's gonna take at least twice as long! Not to mention they spent extra time stacking things like Jenga inside the van to make it all fit in one trip. Because the job (that my friend agreed to pay $500 for three guys and a truck) took so much longer with one and a half guys and a van, Paul upcharges an extra $300!! Again, my friend is nice, and they're trying to hash this out cause they didn't get what they paid for, regardless of it it took more time. (And again, of course less manpower means more time). But instead of having a conversation with my friend, Paul starts SCREAMING at them, cursing at them, saying "You're Full Of Sh*t!" and threatening legal action immediately! My friend is begging through tears that they want to make this right; begging him to STOP yelling and panicking them. The mover's felt so bad and embarrassed overhearing Paul act like a jack*ss on the phone that one even offered to pay the remainder, but my friend, still shook up and in tears, said that they wanted to make this right and moved what little money they have around to pay as much as they could. We're ALL struggling out here, and the movers def deserve to get paid. I'm sure the dude with the hurt back needs more money and easier hours, but the company is working him to the bone. But to have this dude Paul berate and coerce my friend, spitting venom over the phone? Shouting until my friend is begging in tears for him to stop? I'm never gonna forget that. And this company needs to make things right. The job took long because of Dispatch's mistakes. They sent 1.5 guys to do a 3 man job, without the agreed upon equipment no less. If you want a stress-free experience: steer clear. If you want some jerk from New York taking out his daddy issues on you: you've come to the right place.

They sent someone back to "fix" some minor damages and gave us a full refund. Thank you.read more

Due to an issue we had with the appraisal of the house we purchased, it was very possible our settlement date was going to have to be moved to the following week. We were informed of this ONE WEEK before our big move. This put Kevin in a very tight spot; however, he worked with us, and two days before our move we were able to confirm that we were moving on the date we had initially given Kevin. NEXT, the day BEFORE our move, we realized our box count was considerably less than the number of boxes we told Kevin. We told Kevin fourteen boxes . . . we had FORTY boxes. Kevin was able to organize a larger moving truck to come to our house. FINALLY, just when you thought we couldn't be any more unorganized, we had to tell Kevin that we need his men to deliver our things to our new house at 11 A. M. instead of 9 A. M. The miscommunication was on account of settlement times being changed, and the seller refusing to allow us to move till ALL closing paper work was signed. Kevin was able to organize his schedule to have his men deliver all our things at 11 A. M. instead of 9 A. M. Needless to say, we were not the easiest customers to work with, but Kevin was a gentleman, and he worked very hard to make our move as smooth as possible. My wife and I are very grateful to Kevin for his patience and co-operation throughout everything we experienced with our bank, our appraisal, our seller, &c. Moreover, Kevin's men were very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. They're very fast and very hard-working; they had everything out of our old house, and everything delivered into our new house as quick as a wink. My wife and I highly recommend using Adams Moving & Hauling! Kevin, if you're reading this, thanks for everything! We appreciate what you've done for us.

This was one of the worst experiences of my life. Not just the worst move I've ever had, but one of…read morethe worst customer service experiences imaginable. The amount of valuables, family heirlooms, and furniture they damaged is staggering, much of it irreplaceable. Before the move even began, communication was a disaster. I was promised a moving coordinator would contact me a week beforehand. They never did. I had to call the day before my move, and even then the coordinator repeatedly got my two pickup locations wrong. The movers arrived an hour late in a rented Penske truck with little to no packing materials or proper moving equipment. At the first pickup, a 700-square-foot third-floor apartment, they immediately complained about the stairs. My partner and I quickly realized they weren't actually working. Two movers spent long stretches sitting in the truck on their phones while the third spent nearly an hour wrapping a couch that didn't need wrapping instead of protecting fragile items. Despite asking them multiple times to keep moving and properly wrap breakables, they continued wasting time. My partner eventually carried many items from the rooftop down to the first floor himself because otherwise nothing was getting done. They even asked us to help move heavier furniture, which is exactly what we hired them to do. It took them five hours to empty a one-bedroom apartment. At the storage unit, they left belongings sitting in the hallway until I returned to help them. They also completely destroyed a large china cabinet because they didn't wrap or know how to move it. It was damaged beyond repair. After 8.5 hours to move a one-bedroom apartment and a small storage unit, they finally headed to my new home. That's when they informed me my bill had increased to nearly three times the original estimate. Once there, they ignored all instructions about where furniture and boxes belonged, piling nearly everything into one room until it was impossible to walk through. The final straw was when they left much of my heavy furniture sitting on the sidewalk in a downtown neighborhood and then had the audacity to TEXT me asking ME to come help move it. I ended up calling friends, and we finished moving everything they piled on the sidewalk in about 30 minutes, because that's what productivity looks like. To top it all off, they stood on my front steps waiting for a tip. I tipped them only because I wanted them to leave. After spending days fixing their mistakes and unpacking, I discovered even more damage, including: * Vintage Restoration Hardware media console * Vintage Maitland-Smith coffee table (glass top missing) * Three framed artworks * Shelf from my custom-made vitrine * Entire china cabinet * Two planters * Glass shelf frame * Two curtain rods I'm still finding damaged items. All My Sons didn't make my move easier--they made it exponentially harder. I paid professional movers and ended up doing much of the heavy lifting myself while paying nearly three times the quoted price and watching irreplaceable belongings be destroyed. Avoid this company at all costs. Save yourself the money, stress, and heartbreak. Run, don't walk, to another moving company, task rabbit, anything but them.
