If I could give zero or negative stars I would have. For the love of god DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY…read more They were recommended by serv pro who is doing the rehab work on my house. I was told that "we use them all the time and they're great." I didn't want it to be on the driveway for fear of damaging since they will be sliding it off and they only have a huge truck to deliver it on. 16,000 lbs will definitely make an indent on a on a brand new driveway. So today is the day when the work starts. Units 2 go said they could be here no earlier than Tuesday between 11-4. At 10am the serv pro representative calls and receives an estimate that they will be there around 2pm. 4pm rolls around no one has come. We have all the stuff for the storage unit out on the driveway waiting for this company to come. I call the guy Tom and he said we are getting the unit from riverhead and then will be out to you. They hadn't even picked up the unit yet to deliver it. They FINALLY get to my house at 5:30pm and that's where the real fun starts. The driver comes over and asks where we want it. I tell him we are planning to put it on they lawn (common practice for people who don't want it on their driveway). I tell him where our cesspool is (it can't go over that for fear of collapsing it) and show him a space that is plenty big enough for it. He gets a bit snippy and asks why it's not going on the driveway. He then says he's not sure about the spot on the grass cause he's afraid of getting stuck. I tell him it's mostly tree roots in that area and it should be fine, but if he tries and doesn't feel comfortable maybe we can figure something else out. His response is that he simply walks away without saying anything to me and I get very frustrated. I go inside to see the amazing crew that was doing the demolition on the house to ask one of them to talk to him as I'm annoyed and he seems to not be responding well to me. I have gotten attitudes like this before because I'm a woman, and I wasn't willing to put up with it after an already long day. One gentleman goes over and reports back that he is calling his boss. The next thing I see is this guy turning the truck around. The new direction he was facing matches my suggestion about how he should back into the area. The crew and I thought that he was getting ready to try so they start moving their vans out of the way, but HE JUST KEEPS DRIVING!!! Leaving us with a driveway full of stuff and NEVER SAYING ANYTHING TO US. I've driven large vehicles and have trailered a number of large trailers before and this was not a difficult situation. Apparently he is not only a misogynist, but a terrible driver as well. I called Tom, the worthless guy that answers the phone. If he's the owner, he is one gem I hope I never encounter again. He said his driver didn't want to do it and that he didn't care that I was left stranded in the dark at 6pm when the legitimate businesses that I could have called were already closed. What an absolute piece of garbage. If he had even just gotten there at the timeframe he indicated to both me and the rep from servpro, I would not be this furious. But I am so disgusted with the completely incompetent staff, the awful customer service, and the unacceptable service that they provided even before the terrible driver drove off. I called 1-800-pack-rat and it was a seamless delivery. They even have better equipment AND provide a guarantee that they won't damage the driveway. They cared about the experience, were MUCH more professional, AND came through in LESS THAN 14 hours with the delivery! AMAZING! PLEASE do yourself a favor and STAY FAR AWAY from this terrible company!

They don't tell you the procedure and send packers who do not complete the job so I started packing myself. I was dissatisfied and wrote a friendly email to Richard who never replied. Instead on the moving day, a hot-headed brother came with a huge chip on his shoulder about my email and proceeded to speak to me as if I were a hired hand, reminded me he was an "owner" and he wouldn't take my "crap". I could pay for what they did and they would leave. Moving in and of itself is extremely stressful and overwhelming and to have someone of this ilk was shocking to say the least. I was brought to tears and not even a word of apology from this bully. I never received a call from the company and they wouldn't waive the fee charged for using a credit card. They have no customer relations capability. As a result there was no gratuity added to my enormous bill. I am sure the workers wouldn't have gotten it anyway. I will do all I can to make anyone I know or know of be aware of this despicable company.

Summary: + good price…read more+ fast and overall fine service + overall nice workers - poor communication - some unprofessionalism - some damages I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars, but ultimately landed on 3. I want to provide enough context so anyone considering Solidarity Movers can make an informed decision. Overall, this was one of the better moves I've had, but not one that warrants the 5-star reviews I see here. My husband and I moved from MA to NY due to family circumstances. The move was already stressful before it began, which is relevant because Solidarity was recommended by a friend who had a great experience with them. Given some poor experiences I've had with movers in the past, I felt confident choosing them. Unfortunately, things started off rocky. I completed a video walkthrough, received an initial quote, and then requested a revision. After that, communication stalled. Multiple follow-ups went unanswered, and I couldn't even get confirmation that my request was being worked on. After about a day of silence while other companies were responding consistently, I was ready to book elsewhere and left a review reflecting my experience. Within minutes, owner Zak called me. He was understanding, professional, and genuinely seemed to care about my concerns. Communication improved immediately, I received the revised quote, and their pricing felt fair, so I booked the move. A couple of weeks before the move, I reached out to confirm everything was still on track and asked about payment. I was told, in writing by Mike, that the remaining balance would be due "upon completion of your move." To me, that clearly meant after delivery. The move was scheduled for June 19 with overnight delivery on June 20. The crew was originally expected between 12 PM and 2 PM but arrived around 4 PM due to traffic. Traffic happens, and I had no issue with the delay itself. The crew was polite, worked efficiently, and seemed to handle our belongings with care. Unfortunately, this is where my experience started to decline. While packing, I overheard two crew members make a joke about my husband and me. It wasn't the worst thing I've ever heard, but it was disappointing to become the subject of a gay joke, especially from a company that publicly projects queer allyship. I chose not to make an issue of it, but another customer may have felt differently. Once loading was complete, the foreman informed me that the remaining balance was due immediately. This directly contradicted the written communication I had received. When I raised the issue, Mike acknowledged there had been a miscommunication but insisted I still had to pay on the spot. What made the interaction frustrating was how dismissive he came across. He stated this was standard procedure and said he would investigate the miscommunication, but unless there is another Mike, the miscommunication originated with him. Rather than create additional stress for myself, I paid the balance and moved on. To be clear, I still tipped the crew generously because they worked hard. By the end of the move, they had received $1,200 total in gratuity, or $400 per mover. The next day, delivery was delayed again due to traffic, but the unloading process itself was quick and organized. The crew followed instructions, reassembled our storage bed, and got everything into the house efficiently. After unloading, I was asked to sign paperwork stating everything had been delivered without damage. This struck me as odd because we hadn't unpacked a single box yet, so there was no realistic way to verify that. Like many people at the end of a move, I signed because I was exhausted and just wanted the process finished. While unpacking later, I discovered our $1,500 credenza had been damaged. Two interior shelves were broken, one completely split in half. Several glass items were also broken in transit. Nothing irreplaceable, but damage nonetheless. Could I file a claim? Sure. But after an already stressful interstate move, I don't have the time or energy to go through another lengthy process. Instead, I'm leaving this review so others can make an informed decision. Despite everything, I would still consider recommending Solidarity Movers, especially for a local move. The crew worked hard, and this was far from the worst moving experience I've had. However, the communication issues, payment confusion, dismissive handling of that confusion, inappropriate comment, and damage to our belongings prevent me from rating the experience higher. If you're reading reviews because you're planning a move and trying to make the best decision possible, I hope this helps. Wishing you the best of luck!

The van overheated within two miles. I'm sitting on the side of Middle Road in searing heat, waiting for Roadside assistance, which won't be here for another 60 minutes. Sure this could happen to anyone, but it happened to me. I had to ask for compensation for both the cost of the van and the coat of filling up the gas tank. You know how much gas costs. No one offered, I had to ask for the decency of returning my hard earned money. Roadside assistance has to have the opportunity to fix the truck. If they are unable to fix, then they will tow the van. Oh God, how do they tow the van? All of my boxes and bins, will they now get tossed around in a truck being towed? Im just sick thinking about this. I'm so upset. Doesn't anyone check these vehicles for fluids and safety before you send the public out with your lemons? And the service. I had to have the U-Haul app to get roadside assistance. Then I had to beg for compensation. If you're from Southold you know there's no internet available there, because the township won't allow cell towers. Serious it's true, it's a Time Machine. So if you didn't have the app already you're screwed. This is why we should have hired movers. There isn't insurance available to help with this. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.
