From filling out the form online to get a quote to answering all my questions and producing a Certificate of Insurance (COI) for my building to the unloading to finishing the job, everyone I spoke to were very pleasant and very responsive. On moving day, I was stuck in traffic and took me longer to arrive than expected. I called them to let them know and they informed me that the crew start their clock upon arrival at the destination unfortunately and had to pay extra time, but I understood. Solidarity Movers moved me practically across NYC from Harlem to Brooklyn some years ago and the service was awesome. The booking started out with me adding in the number of specific items that I had in order to get a quote. That was pretty helpful. I also liked that there were 3 movers because they seemed to have a good system of bringing stuff out the apartment, downstairs, and into the truck. All of the movers were also very kind, chill, and respectful in handling my items. It didn't feel like they were just tossing things into the truck or stacking fragile boxes under heavy book boxes. Such a stress free move to Midtown Manhattan because Solidarity is AWESOME. They worked with me months out when I didn't have a concrete date set/changed possible dates a few times as we had so much renovation stuff to finish at our house in Denver. Eugene and Zak were so accommodating and helpful over email and phone calls, and gave us peace of mind with our quote being accurate. It was $1575 for up to 6 hours which I figured would be more than an ample amount of time for our only 15ft UHaul, and it took the 3 movers only like.. 2 hours to get everything up. They said they'd arrive anywhere from 8:30am - 10am and met us up at 9am which was super appreciated. Tommy and his guys were ON IT. They accommodated a last minute location change to pick up the UHaul at our hotel lot across the river in NJ instead, got to the apt in record time, and immediately got us parked and unloaded. The guys were really great once again. Two years ago the team moved us from Queens to Westchester, then this time from Westchester to Stamford. This past time with snow falling they were a bit late but text ahead of time twice to let us know when they'd be arriving. Cris was a great team lead. Could I like these guys any better than the first time I used them a year ago? It turns out I can. I don't know where they get their movers from, perhaps from people exiting a buddhist monastery after spending a year contemplating how to be nice and courteous and conscientious. I mean, really, Solidarity's movers are always some of the nicest people I run into in New York and they take amazing care of my stuff every move. I wish I could award additional stars beyond five. They really seem to put your feelings first, from making sure you understand the charges (which are super up-front and well-explained, and very, very reasonable) to making sure about anything they aren't certain about your wishes for. They wrap all of your furniture super-securely and seem to be wizards at getting it into tight places without the slightest bit of damage, taking far more care than I would be capable of after lifting it up three flights of narrow stairs! My stuff is all super heavy solid-wood furniture, along with a really large leather couch. It all got here without the slightest ding or damage. Zak is awesome to work with while setting up over email and was really responsive to any questions I had. Plus I just dig the name. Solidarity is a pretty epic name for a pretty epic company. There are no downsides here. They are inexpensive, careful, kind, thoughtful and courteous. What more could you ask for? One thing for sure is I will continue to recommend them to everyone I know and to use them again for my next move. Okay, this is a few weeks late as I utilized their services September 1st but I nevertheless must share how impressive Solidarity was! From the minute I reached out to them with a quote and got a speedy, literate response I knew that I would be using their services for my move. It was my first time hiring movers (usually a friend of a friend or a neighbor with a truck does the deed) and I was only ~slightly~ overwhelmed by the process. (I was overwhelmed.) Their verbiage is very much, we are young professionals and we are here to make this easy and non-intimidating and fun and I felt comfortable every step of the way. I reached out to them for a quote fairly late at night, got a response almost immediately and scheduled my move with them hours after. The quote that they gave me was an immediate yes - compared to other movers (independent and corporate backed) was very realistic and wasn't super inflated. I know that covid has resulted in a lot of people leaving/moving out of the city so I know the demand is high but with that being said, they still gave a me a very fair quote (I was only moving a 1.2 mile distance away but you wouldn't believe how astronomical all of the other quotes were). I believe in pricing your services, skills, talents for what they are truly worth and they didn't cheat themselves but they also didn't overcharge. The day of the move the Forman (Brian) texted me 30 minutes prior to arrival (I booked a 9a-12p window) and they showed up promptly at 9a! The movers were so friendly, they had their masks on and were so quick! I was moved from point A to point B and settled in at 10a - 1 hour after they arrived. Unreal! I have used Solidarity Movers twice in the past 5 years to move and each time has been smooth sailing. For each move, they have been very reliable, the prices very reasonable and the move went smoothly. I will review my most recent move, but both moves were equally great. The movers were punctual, texting beforehand to let me know they were en route. They were professional and caring, especially given the challenges of Covid-19. When they arrived the lead mover of the team reviewed with me their plan and what I wanted to be wrapped, etc. They brought heavy blankets to wrap my furniture for transport and did so carefully to ensure nothing was damaged. At the storage facility, they arranged items inside so the space was utilized but items were safe. The whole time they were very nice and made the experience stress-free. I cannot recommend Solidarity Movers enough! Zak ran the move as smoothly as possible in terms of organization, asking us what we needed, and going through a thorough consultation over the phone. I liked that they provided a flat rate no matter *how* long the movers take to do the job. Brian was the point of contact for both packing and moving days-- Zak offered to have a flat rate move and pack and said it would most likely have to be split up over two days. This estimate was correct, as we also included furniture disassembly and reassembly with the full service move. I don't think anyone enjoys moving (least of all, us) but Brian and the rest of his team were thorough, transparent and polite through the entire process. They were extremely efficient, and let us know estimated time lines and kept things on track. We were grateful to have Solidarity Movers provide us with a flat rate as it was transparent in the beginning and there was no worries about going "over time" or anything. While they weren't the cheapest out there, I do like that they partner up with local non-profits for free services. Their price was predictable, they are used to the daily issues of Brooklyn - with the limited parking etc and most importantly were punctual. In and out with a smile on their face and no fuss. I moved a short distance from one place in Brooklyn to another. The place I was moving to didn't have parking and was right opposite a police station. And the apartment didn't have air conditioning (yet) - in peak summer. I also took the service where they would take apart my Ikea Hemnes bed and assemble it again as well. I found this moving company on Yelp for a next-day move, and Zak was extremely prompt in following up and offering a quote. The price was very reasonable, and they were transparent in what services they provided and how the pricing worked. Brian and Brian came for the move and were very professional. They came with moving blankets and were prepared to wrap up and move my large items, which did *not* happen with the last movers I used. I was moving out of a shared apartment to a 1 BR with only a few pieces of furniture, and it took one hour to pack up and one hour to unload. They were also prompt about texting me to give me their ETA and very courteous to me, my mom, and careful and accommodating about my cat. I also ended up having a slightly different load to move than I had given for the quote, as I had been estimating while still packing (which I gave them a heads up about). They compared the actual inventory to the estimate and calculated an extra $20 or $30, which they had been very clear about and I was 100% fine with. I appreciated how detailed they were in laying everything out. I checked out their social media and it seems like a great company who give back to the community.
