What I am criticizing is the complete lack of compassion and professionalism I experienced dealing with this facility & staff. When I arrived, I was informed by scott(a staff member) that my unit had been sold. The contents of that unit included years of personal belongings, books, awards, clothing, camera equipment, and irreplaceable personal items. Instead of being told privately or with any degree of sensitivity, this information was delivered in front of other people in the lobby. This experience was humiliating. What I did not expect was the absence of basic human decency. There is a way to communicate devastating news to a customer without making them feel exposed and degraded in a public setting. There is a moral difference between an abandoned storage unit and a storage unit belonging to someone who is actively trying to save their belongings. I was not someone who disappeared, walked away, or abandoned my property. I called the week of the auction asking for help, asking for options, asking if there was anything that could be done. I was trying to save my belongings and was met with what felt like indifference and callousness. The loss of my belongings was painful enough. The manner in which the information was delivered made an already heartbreaking situation significantly worse. People going through storage auctions are often experiencing financial hardship, family crises, illness, job loss, or other major life difficulties. They deserve professionalism, dignity, and privacy. That was not my experience. This facility does not employ good people. They only want to humiliate you. What I will remember most is not that my unit was sold. I will remember how little compassion was shown to someone who was desperately trying to prevent it from happening. If you rent here, understand that when you fall on hard times, you may be treated as an account balance rather than a human being. I now associate this facility & the people they employed with one of the worst moments of my life. I will never recover from this. I am devastated. Keep in mind I had not been to my unit in over 8+ months which they also verified on their records. Unit had been ransacked and they could not pull video footage or explain to me how it happened. Had a ton of priceless kings memorabilia from the 80's-90's stolen along with a ton of other items including 5 binders full of old sports trading cards. At first they demanded that I buy a new lock for the unit from them. I argued and they gave me a replacement for free. Regardless your items are not safe in this storage facility. Ridiculous to say the least

After the "first" 3 months, my lease went up $39 to $128, that is a 44% increase!! Totally ridiculous and unacceptable.!! I complained and mentioned that I was a veteran, a senior and also retired on a fixed income. So I asked if I could get my monthly rate reduced. They gave me a $10 reduction, but only for 3 months. So now the lease is back up to $128.00. Will they then go up another 43% in three months, I do not know but I expect they will. I do not trust them. This storage place was recommended to me by my mom who told me my grandpa once had a unit here. The…read moreoffice staff are very friendly and welcoming. Easy to get along with as well. I had a unit here for a little over a year and had no issues. All of my belongings stayed dry, clean, relatively dust free, and there were absolutely no pests or bugs anywhere in my unit. The property was secure and well kept also. I have not had a storage unit prior to this one, so I'm not sure what the prices usually are, but I got a discount when I first got my unit for paying for multiple months up front. The last couple months that I needed to pay for were the normal pricing and it was a little expensive, but I believe other places would cost more. I highly recommend this place and would definitely use it again in the future if I ever need to store items again!
