Students may be Hispanic, but not all Hispanics learn Spanish at home. My English only boys have become fluent bi-literate speakers, readers, and writers. And for how unorganized and late their communications are you'd think they'd show some grace for the students, but of course, they don't. The proctors or whoever it is that stand outside during onsite events have attitudes every single time. Sometimes I'm walking straight towards a ramp and they wait till my foot is on the ramp to tell me I had to go around. Now, why would you do that unless you want to be rude ?? Common sense would tell you to let people know on their approach, "hi, welcome, you're going to enter on your left" or something to that effect. A few years ago when the new "management" came in my child was being picked up for a fall and the office staff started yelling at my child and had her finger in my child's face when I had to say something. If that's how they treat kids when a parent is around, imagine when they're alone?? I really miss the old principal. He was the complete opposite of current administration. PFO and all the activities are so dull and sad looking and I know it's because of the leadership and the people who make it so unpleasant. I have one child at another school in the area due to special needs and it's like night and day with Edison. I'm talking parades, backdrops, Christmas presentations with props, the whole nine yards. Kids Are Being SA at Terra Vista Elementary -- Get OUT NOW!…read more I wrote about this a year ago when I pulled my kid out of Terra Vista Elementary because of serious red flags -- a complete lack of cultural awareness and horrifying reports that children were being SA at the school. Now they're in court, and the attorney has filed an affirmative defense, which, in plain terms, means even if they're not denying it happened -- they're blaming children as young as 3 and 4 years old. This is beyond disturbing. Google is now hiding reviews of the school, but I've reposted the one I made last year right here. Even more concerning: the school is now requiring only Black children to check in -- this is discriminatory, period. My wife and I raised concerns about their cultural insensitivity long ago, and their "solution" was to paint a mural. So if the mural is still up, credit to my wife -- but a mural doesn't fix systemic neglect. I'm sharing this to spread awareness. To the families affected by this: I am deeply sorry. I cannot imagine the pain you're going through. I'm sending you love and blessings -- no one should ever have to endure this.

Yes, the school is great education wise, I went there myself, but I have heard many stories where things were let on when they should've been addressed. Stories where kids were clearly uncomfortable but not atoned personally with. Unless you benefit staff or make them look good, their hearts will unfortunately not be there with you. My mother went to the superintendent office after she heard my brother being bullied because of uncooperativeness, but regardless, I hope the morals of staff continue to grow.
