I had long dreamt of celebrating my birthday over a plant based feast, curated by a private chef,…read morewith my most favorite people. Heather made this dream come true! She joined us at our Airbnb and created the most thoughtful, delicious, decadent and somehow still healthy meal. We started the meal with an herbal infused mocktail that delighted all when it changed color with a squeeze of lime. Cashew crema elote, jackfruit tacos, hearts of palm salad, mushroom scallops over a carrot puree and SO much more followed .. I could never do justice to the deliciousness and beauty of what she created. Trust me, just hire this woman and her skills will blow your mind. She was also just a joy to spend time with and added all these sweet and thoughtful touches to our experience. Would absolutely hire her again for a future event!

Heather is truly amazing. We hired her in Sedona as a private chef for a friend's milestone…read morebirthday and she made the most memorable, personal, and delicious plant-based meal for us. (I'm personally a meat eater but I did not miss it at all.) I worked with Heather directly and she took such a unique approach to the meal, being sure so understand what was important to our friend, how we wanted to have the evening flow and feel, and over delivered on every single element (including printing custom menus for the event!). I couldn't believe how much she accomplished on her own; she is so talented and reliable. 20/10 recommend her services (and hope to utilize them again in the future! This meal is something we'll always remember and cherish -- thank you, Heather!!

Be advised, bargain hunters and 99¢ store aficionados: Family Dollar, while certainly a purveyor…read moreof discounts and seconds, has most items priced at more than a dollar. I understand that for some, this will result in an apoplectic display of unadulterated, authentic frontier jibberish... but if you can get past this point, there are some cheapish finds here if you're willing to lower your standards to a level of basic utility and accept the nearly disposable nature of items found here (note, there's a Dollar General around the corner, but if you don't like Family Dollar's pricing, you're gonna have a bad time there, too.) Staying with the kids at a nearby hotel, we wandered in for cheap hotel toys, batteries, and some warm hats and gloves. All of these items were found quickly in the somewhat cluttered but small store. Several "end displays" of assorted bins of crapulent knock-off toys block the entrance/exit, and likely excite the Fire Marshal on his bi-annual visits. Cheap ski caps for a dollar and mittens/gloves for $3 were ours for the taking. Five year old daughter selected some terrible Shopkins toy, and sons settled on walkie talkies with a 6 ft. range and lots of "squelch" (sorry Millenial readers, you grew up in a world of telecommunications in which squelch was probably irrelevant...) Anyway, I enjoy pawing through discount store stock like some kind of starving raccoon... sometimes, you just might find the proverbial lobster tail that got dropped on the floor. Don't hate on Family Dollar; just think of them as Big Lots' smaller second cousin with a superfluous third nipple and maybe missing a toe on her left foot.
