Tony responded to my call the same day and came out to take a look at the job. He recommended that we consider a porcelain tile which would stand up better to the freeze and thaw cycles (vs slate). He also suggested that we consider finishing off the front-facing (vertical edge) of the porch with a metal trim piece and tile extending to the ground. This was something that no one else had recommended. Tony, and his assistant Alex, did a meticulous job of removing the old slate, grinding down the old adhesive until the surface was completely flat. They also sealed some cracks that had appeared under the old slate. They were very meticulous about laying the new tile. The tile installation came out better than we imagined, and we are extremely pleased with the results. The communication throughout the project was very good and Tony was very pleasant to work with. Overall, we are extremely pleased with the communication, quality of work, attention to detail, and the cleanup . If you are looking for a high-quality tile installation, be sure to check them out !

We had a couple other Contractors lined up to give us a quote but cancelled the appointment after meeting with Herb and getting a good vibe. The house is 100 years old and has been added onto many times. Quite the mess. We went over our options and budget and came to a solution that fit our needs. Ultimately, we had Herb gut the kitchen, open up a few things and replace the flooring in the entire house. We only had a couple items that were "uppers" that were minimal in cost that were actually improvements that we decided to do after the fact. So he stuck to his original estimate with the exceptions of the improvements, and he was able to reallocate some funds to do another upgrade. He was easy to communicate with and responded quickly to text and calls. I do not live in the area and felt comfortable leaving things to Herb, his kids and team of workers.

One thing led to another and we eventually did a full bathroom model. Able & Ready had various resources working on the project, including subcontractors. The bathroom was beautiful. But the leak came back. Able & Ready came out and tried to fix the problem but a year later same thing. This is where it gets interesting. ​ The owner came on-site, took full ownership of the situation and said they would tear out the shower and start over. And it's exactly what they did. The shower is even more beautiful than before and the guys were great to work with. I was shocked and amazed that Able & Ready took care of a tear out and rebuild like this. No argument and no problem. It is so rare in this world to find someone who cares and who stands by their work. They've created life long customers in us.
