They made my eyeglasses three times wrong.Two times with the horizontal visual field too narrow on the intermidiate measure of the progresive glasses. Since they couldn't make the progresives right I asked them to make them bifocals with long distance on top and intermediate on the bottom to use them to drive.They made them short distance on the bottom. When asked, they told me the prescription was wrong, which is not posible, I just wasted my money and time with them. read more

Long time patient at this eye center. Went for a follow up visit today concerning Fred. Fred, is an eye stye/chalazion I have had since April (!). Luckily it's finally almost out of my life! Major props to Dr Jesus Cuevas ( and Dr Jose Cuevas who has seen me previously) who take their time with you , actually listen to your questions and concerns and explain to you the causes of your ailment and all possible treatments. The office staff is very professional and super helpful and the whole facility is COVID prepared so I feel very safe while being there. Me and my husband are returning patients and we both had our appointment on Saturday. Dr. Cuevas was professional and 10 min ahead of our appointment time. The office staff was courteous and knowledgeable, never tried to push any brand on us. They explained what was covered under our insurance, and what the deductibles were for different things, and let us decide on our own. The office stays very busy, so if you want a Saturday appointment you will need to schedule about 3 weeks in advance. Plenty of parking, easy to find. My husband needed to schedule a follow up visit for a more in depth exam due to some irregularities found on his optic nerve, and Dr. Cuevas has worked very closely with us to accommodate our schedule and work with our insurance. He explained everything in plain English, and answered all of our questions. Best ophthalmologist I have ever visited! read more

I scheduled an appointment for yearly checkups for myself , my husband, and son. I'm so glad that I did. We were unhappy with the optometrist we had been seeing. First , the office Is located in Miami lakes, there's a lot of parking available. There are restaurants around if you need a bite to eat after. You have to knock at the front door to be let in. They are following Covid-19 protocols so you must wear a mask, you are also asked to was your hands when you come in. Which I'm okay with , better safe than sorry. They have the seating arraigned to not have everyone next to each other and also the way they schedule the appointments are staggered so the waiting room isn't full. The waiting room is very clean and comfortable. The staff at the front desk are welcoming and friendly . The doctor was absolutely great. His bedside manner was excellent, he was thorough with the examination as well with the explanations. I've found a new optometrist! Would recommend to anyone looking for eye care . read more

MIXED REVIEW* THE GOOD: DR. is very good, very thorough, professional and friendly. Janet explained what the insurance covered, the frames we could pick from and was very patient while we tried on various frames. THE BAD: THE WORSE LAB EVER!!! OMG. ordered 2 pairs of glasses. 1 came in within a week.. the lenses were scratched so we had to send them back. The 2nd pair came back the 2nd week with no transitions lenses so now I HAVE to wait an additional week. Their lab either cant read or don't care. Thank GOD i asked her to check the lenses before I walked out. Cynthia did show me the order cleared states transition lenses, but the lab failed to do it. She suggested I take them and she will call me when the lenses come in so we can "pop" them in. O no I paid for a service I expect to get what I paid for, what if we brake the frames?. She didn't seem to really care one way or another that they were sent incorrectly, her apologies were very "whatever". . NO plans on returning and I am making the Insurance co. aware that their lab is incompetent. read more

I was charged a co pay for visit, called my insurance and checked with my insurance, my insurance told me I didn't have to pay any co pay for visit, insurance told me cuevas optical Sent a claim stating I picked upgraded glasses, not true. Be weary of the staff, they scam patients for money when patients don't have to pay co pays, I learned my lesson, I won't be scammed again and won't go back to this optical , and the staff are cold, rude and very unwelcoming... especially the 4' woman with the light hair.... read more

Charged me a $30 copay. I called my insurance and I have no copay!!!! Had an appointment at 10am and there was one there. 30 minutes later the Doctor ended up arriving and before his assistants. And they never let me know that my glasses were ready. I ended up having to call over a week later. read more

I called in trying to make an appointment and as I was asking a few questions about my health insurance plan I noticed that each question seemed to bother the phone attendant more and more- Isn't that their job? Anyway, after calling again a second time (I really wanted to give this place a try), she possibly noticed my number on the caller ID and, again, seemed disappointment that the phone was ringing. I just asked if they accepted walk-ins on a Saturday as I would have been willing to wait to be seen by Dr. Cuevas. This was Friday about 4pm. I mean, I understand you're about to close but the hour of the day shouldn't dictate the quality of service one should provide, especially from a mom-and-pop shop. I always try to support our local businesses in the area. My review is not on my experience there, I couldn't get past the "Customer Service" part, so I can't provide an opinion on the Dr's services. However, if can make a suggestion; perhaps some Cuban coffee around that time might have helped the business' service towards their potential customers. read more

I've been getting my eyes checked here for years!! Both doctors are amazing. They are twins! They are very helpful and explain everything to you. If you go in for an appointment there isn't much of a wait. Even the front desk personal are very Pleasant. They have a small selection of glasses yet their selection is good. I've ordered contacts and they come back like less then a week. Highly recommend them!! read more

I found this office via Yelp. I was able to call and make an appointment on the day and time that I preferred. When I arrived for my appointment I was checked-in within a reasonable amount of time. I don't expect to be seen the minute I walk in the door, but my initial wait time was 10 minutes or less. One of the office technicians performed my pretest and took me to one of the exam rooms. I did have a wait in the exam room, but nothing unreasonable. Dr. Cuevas was very personable. He also took the time to listen to my concerns. ((I am migraine prone. My previous eye doctor prescribed me glasses that I wore for one week and never again due to the nasty headaches they would give me. Doctor told me to keep wearing them. That's it. No more care or concern.)) Dr. Cuevas listened and tested my glasses. We found that they were made to the wrong prescription! He was reasonable and never rushed the exam. I felt VERY at ease that I found an Eye Center and doctor that didn't just push patients in and out, but actually took the time to address concerns. I was able to order new lenses for my glasses at a reasonable price. The office staff was very friendly and I will absolutely be back. I HIGHLY recommend this office! read more
