When we were at our worst. They were at their best. I can't say enough about how kind and caring Dr Martin and her staff were. On August 26 we had to take our 14 year old little boy Ben to be put down. He had had an apparent stroke. (My words not theirs). Dr Martin took time with us. Never rushing. Always asking. Are you sure. Vet Tech Victoria was so caring and gentle as we processed what was best for Ben. Days since then have been different and our other dog is having some difficulties adjusting. But we will get him through this. I know some reviews on here have had some difficulties with the front office staff. But when it comes to the care and comfort of the patient. My dog died because of them. He got into some rat poison at about 4:45pm. I called them and was informed that they couldn't see him because they were closing (even though they don't close until 5:30.) I live 5 minutes from them and told them that. I was told to go to the ER Vet at Redmond. That place wouldn't help me because I couldn't pay RIGHT THEN. So I went back to CCW the next day and sat outside forever. I begged everyone that came out to help my dog. I had to beg and beg and beg and they FINALLY came to look at him. They said they were going to do bloodwork and all this stuff. Charged $125. Well he was so bad he had to go to the ER Vet again (I had someone to help pay for it this time) and that they had spoken to someone and they knew we were coming. I get to the ER vet and they look at me like I'm crazy. They had to call CCW to see what was going on and it turns out that CCW had done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for him. No bloodwoork, no medication, nothing, but charged me $125. If CCW had just taken him the first time I called he would still be alive. My family has used them for YEARS but they are the absolute worst now. I will NEVER use them again and I urge anyone else not to either. Go to Lakeview or West Rome. This used to be a great vet. Being going here for 15+ years with 4 or 5 dogs. Always cared about your pet like it was their own. WELL NOT ANYMORE. I checked in today at 5:22 with my dog in obvious discomfort and obviously very sick. I sat for about 5 mins before they asked what is wrong with my dog. They went and got his chart and started writing down what was wrong with him. Then informed me it's now 5:30 and they can't help us. WHAT??? Told my I would have to go to the vet near Redmond. I realize closing is 5:30, but I was there before that. What if I was in a room? Would they stop in the middle of saving my dogs life because it is 5:30?? I am absolutely devastated right now. There was a time when the previous owners would do whatever it took to help our pets. Not anymore. I had so much praise and respect for them but that is gone. I literally pulled out at 5:32 with my wife in tears. I will never go back here again. They only care about the money they get and not the animals. Have had several emergent situations and the vets have been quick to respond and care for my pets as the staff has been more than willing to working with a payment plan to pay for these unexpected costs. And yes a few had to have surgery and had no issues paying it in installments. My pets health was treated with a Real Talk easy to understand information and the vets were upfront if they felt a situation needed utmost attention when it meant pets health. ( recently had a random growth pop up on my dog). This facility also can care for various pet types so all of my pets can be seen in one place. Cats, dog, and dwarf bunny. A few years ago, one of their vets met me at 1am and did emergency surgery on my bloodhound to save her life. I'll always be grateful for that. Some other "yelpers" don't understand why multiple vets is good...But always having a vet on staff during working hours and always a vet on call after hours can save your pets life! All of CCW's (aka Caldwel Animal Clinic's) doctors are knowledgeable and if a problem stumps one, they will consult the other vets on staff to come up with a solution. I love it! 2 (or 4 or 5) heads are better than one! You can always request one vet or another and always request to see the same vet every time. I have seen every vet there and love them all. For surgeries, I request the Dr. that saved my dog's life at 1 am that night. If you can operate at 1 am, imagine what you can do during working hours! :) read more

Within the first few seconds of our visit, my husband and I knew that this would be our new vet clinic. Dr. Caldwell and his assistant were amazing with our sweet Max, and equally as amazing when explaining test results and future services to us. There seemed to be a little confusion when we got to the front desk (maybe our chart hadn't made it there yet?), but staff resolved it quickly and efficiently. If first impressions are accurate, this clinic is a wonderful new place for our sweet fur babies. read more

About a month and a half ago our Pomeranian dog broke his front leg (two small bones completely broken) and it was 8pm. No vet was available except Dr. Carr who showed up and was super nice. He was gentle and he took his time to diagnose the problem. As stressful as it was, I felt assured our Pom was in good hands. Considering we called off hours for personalized care, including x-ray, caste, etc the bill was very reasonable. After three weeks, they checked him out and they were also super nice. No charge for that visit. Then just today was the day of the caste taken out and the xray showed the bones healed like it never happened! Wow! The bill was very reasonable as well, and the check up visit in the next couple of days they said will be free. But really, you can't BUY this type of care and results for much higher prices! So what you have here is a place where the vets know what they are doing, are friendly (our Pom saw three different vets who work there and they were all great) AND reasonable prices. Now that is what I call value. I would recommend them to anybody, and in fact, I will have them care for my other dog as well. read more

Please dont take your animals here. They were fine when all my pet needed was shots and check ups, but he got bone cancer in his leg, they amputated his leg and sent up home with no antibiotics, no wrapping and no cone, he licked his stitches on saturday and I had to take him to the emergency hospital, following up with them on Monday, they blamed my dog, saying well he made it 2 days without licking it, if it happened the first day you could blame us, we dont give comes unless you ask for them because they are $20. I had asked for one a d Dr Caldwell assured me that he didnt one. What's $20 more dollars when you're paying $1100 for the surgery... His stitches apart again; this time he did not lick them because he had on a cone.. they basically butchered my baby. I took him to west rome animal clinic and they fix him read more

I have been taking my dogs here for years. I live 30 miles away and I would always go here anyways because I always had taken my dogs here. The last few times have been horrible. They take too long. The staff is very passive aggressive. The clerical people/ assistants are rude and unhelpful. Unfortunately, this change has made me decide to change vet offices. read more

I agree, the front desk staff has an attitude, especially on the phone. DO NOT answer their visit questionnaire that is emailed to you. They share all the adverse comments with the staff, including your name, so they are even more prejudiced against you at any future visits. Apparently, they have a "S--t List" of clients who aren't pleased with the staff. The clinic owner defends the staff without acknowledging or accepting the complaint and will ream you out a new one in her email follow-up to adverse comments. I guess they are all democrats, so they're "entitled." "Shoot the messenger" and "go get another vet clinic if you don't like us" are the orders of the day around here. read more

I love most vets at this clinic. Had a dosing issue with a medicine the day before Thanksgiving and we lost one of our puppies. They aren't really puppies but will always be in my mind my puppies. Even tho it has been 3 months I still cry a lot cause my baby girl and I had been through ALOT together. We have her only surviving puppy that is now 2 years old, and the daddy is our only male whom got super lucky cause he was scheduled to be neauterted exactly 1 week to the day. We had 2 pups but the larger pup almost killed my baby girl so I had to help, then she just stopped labour. I took her to the vet and we had emergency c section and spayed at the same time. They were super awesome with the newborn cause my baby girl didn't want much to do with her cause show doesn't remember having her. So I found I was going to be a new mommy to the puppy. I did it,.all the feedings, talking walks and showing her how to be a pretty little puppy. read more

I decided to switch Veterinarians because I was very disappointed with the care/cost I was paying in Cedartown. So one day I called Culbreth Carr Watson and it was THE VERY BEST DECISION I had ever made concerning the care of all of my babies...(6 dogs/6 cats) I've never had a rude tech, doctor, or office staff and this is my 5th year taking my babies there. They are current with their knowledge, they explain everything to you and they do not rush you out of your visit! They ALL treat their patients like the animals they are, not just another appointment!! Costs are high but I'm satisfied with the level of care I'm receiving for my babies....They are upfront with the costs and are willing to find an alternative to a drug if available to save me some $$$ and a lot of the drugs you can get filled at your personal pharmacy which costs much less, just ask! The only thing I wish was different, they need a much bigger office, I'd rather talk to the ladies at checkout in private away from other patients! HIPPA should be followed with the animals as well as with human patients...it is no ones business how much my bill was that visit, plus there isn't much seating and I think that dogs need their own waiting room as well as cats need their own! Their business would operate more efficiently if it was this way, I've been to other offices that work this way and it's so much more comfortable! I have used Culbreth-Carr-Watson Animal Clinic for 10+ years myself, and before that, I would go with my mom when she would take our fur babies as I was growing up. Until recently, they were the best vet(s) hands down; hence, us driving more than 45+ minutes for our fur babies to be seen as needed. About a month ago, my fur baby was dying of end stage renal disease, and she became worse on a Saturday evening, and I needed to use the after-hours service to let her go. I agreed without pause to the after-hours fee, but as I explained I was an hour+ away since I would have to have help to get my 60lb baby in the car as well as the drive, I received the response "I'm in town now. I guess I'll just have to wait. Be as quick as you can." This rubbed me the wrong way, but I chalked it up to maybe I was being overly emotional as my baby was dying. Fast forward to last night. My mom came home late yesterday evening to find her 13-year-old fur baby lethargic and having difficulty breathing. She calls the after-hours service and receives a callback and is informed because this particular fur baby of hers has not been seen in the past two years that she can not be seen. Never mind that my mom has been a client for YEARS or that she had been to the vet's office just over a month ago 3 times in one week with 3 different fur babies of mine, which she mentioned to the on-call vet. He just said it was "policy." A policy we have never been informed of mind you. And to top it off she had to determine who to contact for an emergency visit as the on-call vet advised Woodstock, which is even further away from where she and I live. She was able to locate one 45-minutes away, but unfortunately had already wasted precious time on a vet clinic/on-call vet that had a "policy" to adhere to that its clients were not made aware of in addition to having to search for an emergency veterinarian. Her fur baby died just minutes away from the emergency clinic in Chattanooga, TN. Once a wonderful veterinary office that I (and my mother) had every confidence and deep-felt appreciation for and who I recommended to EVERYONE for their fur babies. Now, I (and she) will seek the best care for our fur babies elsewhere and encourage others to do so as well. read more

Called to try to set up an appointment to get my cat weighed and get a worming pill for him. Spoke with a lady named Beth, who was EXTREMELY rude to me and informed me they "can't just hand out worming pills," and hung up on me before I could ask to set up an appointment. I knew very well I had to set up an appointment before I could get my cat taken care of, but after my experience over the phone, I will NEVER take my cat here. If the staff is rude to me, I will not risk finding out how they'd treat my cat. The behavior exhibited by this establishment was uncalled for. read more

I've been going here for almost two years. My dog and I have moved around a lot, so I've dealt with many different vets over the years. Culbreth Carr & Watson is hands down my favorite vet. Owning a pet is expensive. Shots cost money, pills cost money, office visits cost money. But their prices are fair (not cheap but fair), they don't try to do a sales job on you and up-sell you on a bunch of needless stuff, and they really seem to care about your pet. There have been a few times when Dr Watson said, "if it'll make you feel better, we can do an X-ray. That's no problem. But I don't think we actually need one right now. It's an unnecessary expense." Lately my dog has had some major spine issues, and they have all been very kind to me and my dog. There have been a few times that I noticed I wasn't charged for an office visit, if I was just there a few days ago and needed a quick consult. They have an answering service that is fairly prompt. Average turn around time is under a half hour. My dog needed major surgery and Dr Watson took his time to call around Atlanta to get quotes for me. Once we settled on the right surgical center, he immediately called in the referral paperwork. Dr Watson is my favorite, but they're all really good there. And in the end, you really get more than you pay for from these folks. read more
