I'd like to read more. Serendipity lead me to his bio. The company was stimulating and the conversation around varied non-weather, non-surface level subjects was quite memorable. It's easy to bond over a table, a shared drink and a couple of idea stimulating books. Not sure how u choose a read in this sea of wisdom. I wandered and trusted God to guide. As for this location, my first thing to note, if there is a large puddle in the parking lot, don't park in it. It's not rain water - there is a sewage issue and the parking lot often has flooded spots. I parked near it on my last visit, and you could smell the sewage and there was wet tissue in the puddle. Just find another spot. I can usually find what I am looking for at a decent price here. Lots of items are damaged, but you have to know what you're getting. Also, if you're buying something with words, check the spelling. An associate and I had a great laugh at a few misspelled Christmas items last year. There are usually some pretty good sales on most the things, so I'll stock up on little holiday extras here and there. They have a lot of registers, but usually only a few are open. I like the staff there mostly, everyone is pretty friendly. I also notice that, unlike the Dollar Tree next door, they actively keep people away from loitering at the doors.

The store was small but with a good selection of comics, including some nice older wall books, a couple rows of long boxes, & a decent selection of new books. Seemed to have a smaller selection of sports cards & toys. The man working behind the counter (owner?) was nice, greeting me as I entered with my 2 kids. He offered assistance but I didn't need any. He continued his conversation with a regular customer about old sci-fi episodes. Eavesdropping on their conversation made me feel right at home. Just like my local comic book store. I ended up buying a copy of Captain Marvel 17 & Thanos 14. They were having a 15% off sale on back issues. Next time I pass through Baton Rouge, I'll be sure to stop by.
