Protect yourself. Don't use this guy. It's not what he's capable of doing for you, it's what he's willing to respond to. He registered my S-Corp correctly; Though, he placed himself as statutory agent for my business and disregarded notices for two years straight. Neglected to forward correspondences regarding my annual report filings. Emails were never responded to in a timely manner, sometimes not at all. Ignored my correspondence this year during tax season for an exact number of 57 days, only at which time I had reached out to let him know I had hired someone else. Furthermore, I was notified that my returns were never received by the IRS for 2014, even though I have receipt from Chris, confirming they were sent in. As far as my S-Corp, incorrect income documents were filed. On multiple occasions, IRS notices were forwarded to Mr. Culpepper. Again, I have receipt that he received and committed to resolving the issue. Two years later, I am fixing this with my CPA. Most Importantly, Chris is not an Enrolled Agent with the IRS, he is a document preparer. He is not a CPA. If you have issues with your filings, he will not be a fiduciary liaison between your business and the IRS. Any wrongdoing on his part is not under regulation by the State Board of Accountancy. Since he's a document preparer, he's not responsible for holding the same standards of ethics and regulation set forth by AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants). Any documentation that he manages on your behalf, is his property. If he were registered with the State Board of Accountancy (which he is not) he could have been sanctioned to release documents I was in need of. This is the most expensive mistake I've made in my business since I've opened four years ago. I wouldn't have expected it from someone who managed my taxes.
