Great breakfast place. Order at the counters and enjoy whether you take out or eat in. One of the best breakfast sandwiches around. Staff is friendly, place is always clean and they have all the bullies and breads you need. Cookies, brownies cakes and all the other culprits. Been going here for years and my kids now enjoy it.

The French toast here is definitely something I recommend! Waitress was very friendly and my order was quick.

We stopped here for a quick coffee and treat, we hadn't been here in years. Pretty busy coffee stop. Nice selection of pastry and desserts. Breakfast and lunch. Lots of tables and a 'lunch counter' (something you don't see much anymore). Looks like they get a lot of 'regulars'. We picked our selections...a coffee roll and 2 apricot danishes at the counter and ordered 2 coffees. The bill was $7. and change with free refills of coffee. Coffee was good. Danishes were very fresh and good.

Food is good but they really have not been staffed adequately lately and the people in the kitchen seem confused every time they get a ticket order. The last 2 times it's taken over 20 mins for a bagel sandwich and all they can say is they're short handed. I hate to be negative about small local businesses but won't be returning for awhile, especially on a Saturday morning

The waitress who I believe was named Erica (she was the younger taller girl, there were two of them) the one that greeted us was rude and needs to work on her interpersonal/engagement skills and to not mumble (they both were mumbling and you could not hear or decipher what they were saying but then she wanted to cop an attitude because I was about to check her), it was our first time so we walk in taken back at how small it was, she wanted us to wait outside but instead of staying such she gave us a dirty look and her attitude continued at the counter. It is very cramped in there and sitting at the counter was uncomfortably close to other patrons, if I return it will be during the work week but will wait for a booth free up.

And did I mention that the cold lobster roll - with fresh Maine lobster - is perfect??? It was so good I returned the next day to try the hot lobster roll and the lobster bisque. You'd be forgiven for walking past without a second look, assuming it's just another mom and pop breakfast and lunch joint. One doing a brisk takeout business for the neighboring businesses and likely not a place you'd try for more upscale fare. You'd be wrong! Beyond the admittedly dated decor and past the countertop service of dinner standards is a kitchen that turns out food that hits well above its weight. With a daily list of specials that would do most $50 a plate restaurants proud expect to have your first impressions blown away. Haddock cooked with a very Mediterranean mix of artichokes, olives, onions, and cherry tomato's in a lemon/butter/ fish stock, Jambalaya done wet in the traditional New Orleans style with house made creol seasoning, a shrimp and veg stir fry with Bok Choy served uniquely with fat fettuccine noodles in the house made broth. All spectacularly good, all incredibly under priced! A word about the wine list: there is none! Far better, it's BYOB with food that justifies pulling your better bottles. Perfect. Don't spread this around, but the daily lunch specials mirror the by reservation only dinner menu...for half the price. In sum, Theater Cafe far exceedes expectations and delivers a remarkable value. You come here for the food, not for the ambiance, perfect service, to be seen by the right people, or God forbid because some snooty food critic deigned to give it 5 stars. It's a place Michelin will never review and we should all be greatful for that.
