We have been going to the Culver's in Powell, Ohio, since it opened. The food has been outstanding, and on the exceedingly rare event that it is not, it is remedied quickly. Only one caveat: there have been multiple times when I ordered a single butter burger, and they rang up a double. And this does not appear unique to this location. Unfortunately, this is not something to resolve quickly if you went through the drive-through. Also, it is nice to be recognized by the staff when you dine in. read more

Went here a few weeks ago. The hubs and I had only tried ice cream from Culver's, so we decided to stop by and try a burger. I got a single patty melt with grilled onions and a small concrete, and my hubby got a double butter burger and fries. The patty melt was pitiful. The beef patty was so thin I had to open the sandwich to see it. It was maybe 2 ounces, at most. They left off the grilled onions, so I had to go the counter and ask for them. It was supposed to have mayo but it was really dry. There was no way it had over 600 calories when there was almost nothing to it! My hubby's food was definitely better, but he was still hungry afterwards. It was over $25, a very poor value for what we got. The place was super busy, packed with families eating Sunday dinner. We left scratching our heads wondering why it's so popular. Is the main draw the ice cream? The ice cream is good, but I'm kind of hesitant to order food here again. read more

This is a great lunch spot! I love culvers so much. Nick was great, he has a manager in training name tag and was constantly working every time I saw him. He took our order, was very polite and patient, ran some customers orders, was wiping down a table in the lobby, and restocking behind the counter. I can see why they're promoting him to manager! The wait was insane!!! I understand being busy but this was something i haven't seen, i drive into the drive thru just to get kicked out saying they're too busy for drive thru, i circle around about 5 times getting to find parking, didn't find any so i had to park farther and walk. Buh bye Culvers. 3rd consecutive visit in the past 2 months where our order was incorrect. We've noticed this location going down hill for a while. Rarely a clean table in the place. As was the case this evening, had to clean a table myself while an employee gorged themselves directly across from us. Their dessert is very good and different flavor daily. Kids meal is good which includes dessert and drink. Like the Powell location but New Albany is suppose to open soon. Looking forward to going there. read more

I have only been to Culver's once and really enjoyed their burgers This place was busy. Service - the employees seemed to be in a good mood and were very polite. It almost reminded me of Chic Fila. It was quick and our food was brought to us Food - the food was really good. Double bacon butter burger, a mini concrete (the attendant recommended Oreo and cookie dough) and crinkle cut fries. I've heard lots of good things about Culver's so I decided to try it today. Right off the bat, the service was fantastic. Sam at the front counter was very helpful. Everyone is very nice and very inviting. The food came out incredibly fast, and they bring your food to you on a nice tray and he named what's on it, to ensure we had everything. Food was exceptional, absolutely delicious. I really have been missing out on something so magnificent. Burger was juicy, perfect. Fries were obviously cooked in very fresh oil, they were amazing fries. Chicken sandwich was very juicy, breading had awesome flavor. The chocolate custard was the cherry on top for my meal. The inside and outside are very clean, and well kept. Very roomy inside with many booths, and tables. Really nice. I will absolutely be back, many times. read more

Always pass by this particular location on Powell Rd. Finally dropped by to try it within COVID-19 times. I ordered to go. When you pick up, just make sure that you also get your frozen custard item if you ordered one. I left and then had to drive back, because I realized that I didn't get my concrete mixer, which they made after I got there. The concrete mixer consists of your choice of vanilla/chocolate frozen custard with two choice of toppings. I had the vanilla custard with brownie bits & salted caramel. This combination was great. I will definitely go in for the frozen custard again. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich for my husband and the ButterBurger cheese with two patties for me. My husband said the chicken was actually spicy, which was a plus. The ButterBurger cheese was good on the patties, nicely cooked. I did not find anything different with the bun, however. I also ordered onion rings & chilli cheese fries. They both were good. One thing that was odd was that I wanted lettuce & onion on my burger, but was told they are out of onions. I saw a sign when going in for pickup that they maybe out of certain items. Overall, pretty decent place. Mostly would return for the sides and frozen custard. read more

The food was consistent with all other locations. The person who took our order was polite and did a fantastic job. We arrived a half hour before closing and placed our order as eat in. At that time, no one said anything about time frames to eat our food. At precisely 11:00 a very young employee, seeming to be in authority, came to our table to inform us they are officially closed. Mind you we both are over 50 yrs old. He went on to say that he understood we were having fun and by no means rushing us, but... And he left it just like that. We were baffled as we had never experienced such a bizarre exchange of a closing of a restaurant. But it got worse. As we finished up our food and this employee intimidated everyone else out of the restaurant, an employee went through the counter and soda area and poured 3 gallons of soapy water out of a bucket onto the tile floor. She then began scrubbing the floor with a firm bristled broom. The scrubbing lasted maybe two minutes and then she she started to squeegee the water toward the door. We went to leave and asked if there was another door to leave. She went to soda fountain and pointed at something with eyebrows raised as if to ask if that's what I wanted. I realize she did not speak English. I said exit and she came back to where we were near the flooded doors and opened one. We were both shocked, having past spinal injuries, that we were being directed to step through two inches of soapy water. For seconds that felt like minutes my boyfriend and I exchanged glances of doubt. He was saying this won't fare very well for me as carefullyI stepped through wearing sneakers. He hesitantly followed and nearly wiped out three times in his leather cowboy boots. The $11 treat I had planned will no doubt be several days of aching back for my date. I applaud the thorough cleaning method but it should only be permitted once all patrons are out of the building. The wet floor sign was up, but I would say that is seriously insufficient for an intentionally flooded only exit. read more

They have crinkle fry's and are always good. The folks there have always been very friendly and helpful. The store and restrooms are always clean. I was looking for a burger spot after spending a few hours at the zoo and this was the closest spot according to Google maps. I've only been to Culver's maybe 2 other times over the span of a decade so I figured why not! The drive thru line was pretty long so we figured we should just go in and get take out and maybe it'd be a little quicker. We were definitely wrong. There were quite a few people up front only 2 taking orders and the others occasionally leaving to clean. As we waited about 10 minutes for our food we noticed the cashiers wiping down their area, the kitchen staff having too much fun in the back and we also thought it was pretty how the custard came out the machine and viewed all the ice cream flavors that were made in store. We only ordered a single burger, fish sandwich, and a milkshake. Finally a manager came out and checked on us and apologized for the long wait, she said a few things to all 6 people behind the counter and then realized the kitchen made our order for dine in and someone was walking around with our food looking for us. The manager made one of them give me a free meal coupon after they made the kitchen box up my food. The coupon will probably be my only reason for going back. read more

For fast casual restaurants Culver's is my go to spot. I have never had a bad experience at this location and 99% of the time my order is spot on with the occasional onion being put on my burger despite the no onion instruction. But, everybody makes a mistake now and then, no one is perfect. The burgers are always cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. The fries are always hot and crispy and also delicious without being over salted. They offer a gluten free bun option for a small upcharge. As I am required to be gluten free this is a huge win in my book. The burger and toppings are served separately in their own container with the warmed gluten free bun individually packaged for assembly at the table or once you get home if you carry out or go through the drive through. All condiments are available upon request if not served on the tray when it is brought to your table for dine in. If you haven't tried their strawberry shake, you're missing out. I've tried strawberry shakes in several locations and Culver's wins the strawberry shake title. I can't attest to any other flavors because why mess with perfection and I'm not feeling adventurous to try other flavors, which I'm sure would be delicious. I always get the same thing, to the point some of the staff know my order. The burger basket meal contains fries and a soft drink, but you can substitute a milkshake for the soft drink for an upcharge, which I almost always do. Every month there is a calendar of daily confection treats for the day. If you follow this location on Facebook you can find the flavor of the day and I believe the calendar. Or just visit their website, www.culvers.com/restaurants/powell. I just pick up the printed calendar for the month on my first visit of the month. Let me touch on the management of this location. It's fairly rare that you see management, much less one of the owners front and center in a fast casual, or any restaurant, for that manner. It is common to see Sierra, one of the owners, Dan, one of the managers, and/or any of the other managers on duty front and center working right along with the staff. There is only one thing that would this location more perfect than it is, and that would be if they served Coke products instead of Pepsi products. I really enjoyed coming out here late one night with my boyfriend or now ex (awkward?) he was craving the Culver's and I was like well I was sure I am too? So why not drive up the road for Culver's and see what's up? They changed their menu a little bit and had butter burgers and the guy at the register was super kind enough to explain the whole nine yards to me and ex. It's been since 2015 I have been to Culver's TBH. The ex was there more recently. The whole thing was a surprise and good experience. Luckily the guy did explain the burgers were thin so I did get a double so it helped fill me up quick. The same with the ex so he enjoy it. The ice cream was delicious was as well and I really enjoyed the add in m&ms which was nice. They had clearly made the shakes MUCH earlier-first they didn't bring them out, then when we asked about them, the brought them out and were the consistency of milk...nothing frozen about them. Decent, food for a good price. The food is pretty good here. Its definitely better than other fast food restaurants but over all nothing spectacular. Kids meal - the kids meals here are pretty great compared to other places. Main entree fries or apple sauce milk, chocolate milk or drink 1 free scoop of custard and a paper token. (save 10 tokens and get a free meal) The burgers don't seem to be as special as they used to be, I don't know if they changed the bun or some of the seasonings or what, but they just don't taste like they used to. On more than one occasion I have heard people talk about this place. In my mind I thought this was just a place for ice cream and that's it. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this is far from true. After doing some very last minute Thanksgiving shopping I stopped by to see what they were all about. I ordered off of their value menu. I really appreciate the person that took my order, because they made my final order cheaper by giving me what I said opposed to what I originally thought I wanted. These people really know how to do the job. Even on a crowded weekend evening, ordering at the register went effortlessly as we could clearly see our food selections including condiments being entered on a screen in front of us. The staff is clean and neat and obviously into their jobs. They are well-trained in what they do and have positive attitudes. I paid and we picked up our big plastic order number to display on our table. The piping hot sandwiches and fries were brought to us in less than 5 minutes !!! The server confirmed our order before walking away. The burgers and fries were prepared perfectly and topped exactly as ordered. NO under-cooked beef or soggy fries here. A worker came around while we were eating to remove any unwanted bags or containers. Although the place was noisy and fully packed, it was still a pleasant experience. We have a tendency to go to Culver's since Smash Burger closed near us and we have normally can't figure out what to eat. They have gluten-free options, thank goodness. The burgers are good,not the best. The fries are amazing though and they have very good sundaes, concrete shakes. There's been some minor mishaps here and there. Like, my fish sandwich today wasn't made right. Not a big deal. My families big issue today was a rather large canine being bought in. And the couple did not care that State Health department states, no dogs inside a restaurant unless it is a Service animal. We asked and they no, it wasn't. Followed by sure. The staff wasn't bothered either, except to say that they had placed an order to go. They didn't go. They sat and ate and fed the dog as well. I will go a bit farther for Smash Burger instead of coming back here. Now, I really do love dogs. Sadly my chocolate lab passed away 1 year ago. And I want another one. But.... It was a busy Thursday evening, for sure. So many cars lined up, because the food is wonderful. I ordered a meal for my son and a burger for myself. I got the fries, the burger and the shake, but no eight piece tenders. Of course I didn't realize that till I got home, and then went back to the restaurant to get my missing eight piece for my son. They brought it out fairly quickly, and I asked was there anything they would do for me since I had to spend an extra 30 minutes to come back and then home. That's when the manager Josh came out. His first question was did you call it in? "Did you call and let us know that we made a mistake?", as opposed to simply saying we apologize for missing your total order. He then called me a name and turned around and walked away. I wouldn't expect this kind of service in an inner city, let alone Powell Ohio. Josh should be fired, and certainly trained better.
