Now for the hot mess category., no hello when ordering just very curt, the two behind the counter were to busy flirting with each other then working. At one point male employee touched female employees hat with his gloves on . The floors were so greasy you could skate on them. The food all over the floor in dining room and behind counter was gross you could tell it's been there awhile. Tables were disgusting. I recently ordered catering from this location of Firehouse Subs and I was honestly blown away by their customer service. I called and placed the order over the phone the day before I needed it and the entire process was super easy. For roughly one hundred bucks I had sandwiches for about twenty-five people. I didn't need the drinks and chips, just a variety of sandwiches, including vegetarian. They took my credit card information over the phone and when I came to pick everything up the next day, it was all ready to go. They even offered to help me to the car, how sweet. The restaurant itself was pretty clean and family friendly. It was around dinner time when I came by and there were a lot of folks there for dinner. The parking was a little tight with all the other businesses but there's a lot of extra spots behind the building. I'm going to be honest - the food is the most average part of the experience, but it's good, especially for the price. But why four stars if you aren't stunned by their offerings, you ask? Simple: It's the service. This is quite possibly one of the friendliest "fast food" experiences you can find on the northern drag of Hamilton Road. These folks are efficient, courteous and kind. They know their stuff, ask questions relevant to making sure what your ordering is what you will get, and everything is made with deliberateness, dedication and care. I cannot underscore how nice it is to come here and be greeted with smiles from start to finish. Now, as to the food. Firehouse subs to me are a bit too "wet". That's just their style. I like my sandwiches to have a bit of firmness and bite to them, but Firehouse subs literally come apart the minute you handle them. I credit this to them serving a lot of their subs warm/hot/toasted, along with fresh juicy ingredients, so It's not a con, really, but something to be aware of. Overall though I'm just impressed with the experience. I think it really is noteworthy sometimes when the people serving the food stand out above it, and this is one of those times. Ummm...YUM! One of the best sub sandwich breads available. Big selection of chips. Din't forget a cookie! There's a big table in the back section of the restaurant. It is next to the drink dispensers. This place has a Coke machine where you can design your own drink. A TV hangs precariously from the ceiling over the end of big table. If the sound is turned up, like it was when I was there, it is obnoxious. So, sit there at your own risk. Overall, a great place for a great sub! read more

When it comes to hospitality.. takeaway the subs and the title becomes appropriate for this staffs performance- and because I would never want that to happen/ here's a few tips for the crew on providing a delightful experience.. 1) giving someone a "what do you want?" look the moment they walk in sets an awkward tone -instead you wanna make them feel welcome / a warm "how can I help?.." with a smile will suffice.. 2) greet *every* person- I've been to this location several times now and not once have I been greeted / one time a feller who strolled in after me was immediately acknowledged -but yours truly.. not so much.. I must've forgot to put on deodorant that day.. 3) now this one is only for the elite / see ok service is better than bad service but unfortunately they're both forgettable- while an energetic atmosphere on the other hand leaves a lasting impression- you know like everybody stayed up all night binge drinking gatorade.. This FS just opened in new buildings just south of the Meijer off Hamilton. Access to the parking lot is from behind the building. I'm familiar with the chain so this visit was pretty much to check out the new digs and score a tasty lunch. Greeted by the friendly staff I quickly made my choice, took my number and scored one of their signature Cherry Limeades from the Coke Freestyle machine, a bag of Jalapeno chips and got a clean table by the window. Didn't have to wait long to have a meaty hot steamed sub delivered to my table for one mighty tasty lunch. The dining area offers plenty of 2 and 4 top tables with views of a couple of TV's and outside there are a few tables for those that want to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of North Hamilton Road. While their prices are higher than their 'Underground' competition, you're paying for quality, quantity and taste. I visited this location at dinner time on a Friday night. There were no customers there except my friends and I. I thought this was probably a sign that the food wouldn't be any good. After waiting about 20 minutes we finally got our food. I must say my sub was worth the wait! It was actually very good. I'm surprised they aren't more busy. Maybe it's because of the long wait they weren't getting much business and not the quality of the sub. I definitely want to go back and try more of their subs. read more

We had an idea what we wanted but as always things are a little intimidating on your first visit. No problem. The friendly employees suggested what others seemed to like on that particular sub. Freshly prepared and filled with meat and cheese as opposed to fillers, we were not disappointed. It was large enough that we could split it for dinner supplemented by an ear of corn. And it was different than the usual subs that stores offer.This particular store is next to a traffic light so easy in and out on Hamilton Road which otherwise is difficult. This was the worst Firehouse experience. First time visiting this specific location. Staff is rude and disrespectful. I asked a question regarding my son's sandwich. The gentleman not only was dismissive, he rolled his eyes and then turn to the young woman with him and they both started giggling.
