This Trader Joe's has been such a great addition to Providence. That whole area really needed a…read moregood food market, and this place fits perfectly. Every time we go in, we end up finding something new to try. Half the fun of shopping there is walking around saying, "Alright, what weird snack are we leaving with this time?" The store is clean, organized, and surprisingly efficient considering how busy it gets. One thing I really appreciate is that they actually staff the registers properly. There always seem to be plenty of cashiers working, so even when the lines look long they move quickly. You're not standing there questioning your life choices while someone argues over coupons for 20 minutes. The parking setup is also a huge plus. Having the garage parking with the elevator right up to the main level makes things incredibly easy, especially on busy weekends or bad weather days. Way less stressful than circling around crowded lots hoping someone backs out. The employees have always been friendly too, which honestly makes a difference. The whole place has a good energy to it. Quick shopping trip or full grocery run, this location just works. Definitely one of the better additions to Providence in recent years.

Huge sign off the highway advertising a single price of $2.79/gallon, which is cheaper than all the…read morellaces next to it. Upon activating the pump ... the price is suddenly $2.89. There are no markings for Cash vs. Ctedit pricing anywhere. However, once the pump is in the tank, you find out that because you are using a credit card, you are now paying 10 cents more per gallon. It would have been cheaper to go to an honest place next door which advertised the true price. So ... suck it Circle K. Won't ever come here again.

I stopped here Monday afternoon because my work truck was nearly out of diesel fuel, and this place is right off I-295. With its huge parking lot and impressive number of Gulf-branded gasoline pumps (I counted a whopping 16), this place would fit in well in Texas. They also have four diesel pumps, two of which are high-speed pumps for filling trucks more quickly. Inside, the store is equally large, with a Honey Dew Donuts occupying the left side of the store. In addition to a drive-up, the Honey Dew has an indoor counter, as well as some tables for those customers who want to stay-and-sip. There is plenty of room between aisles of merchandise, and the store appeared to be well-stocked with good variety of drinks, snacks and convenience foods. And, it does have a bathroom (which is a requirement to earn a 4-star rating from me), although it is located in the right-front counter of the store, which was a bit counter-intuitive. It's not as fancy as Seasons Corner Market convenience stores (the white floor tiles at Circle K were boring and showed dirt easily), but it covered all the bases. The cashier at Circle K was clean-shaven, polite, and soft-spoken - quite the opposite of the large, rather rowdy group of blue-collar guys seated around a long table at Honey Dew.

So for this Gulf. It's tiny, tucked off the street quiet gas station. The prices here for a gallon of gas are comparable to other gas stations around the area. I went inside to buy a couple bottles of water a snack for my ride and the gentleman behind the counter greeted me and was friendly. There was also a younger lady working there who was stocking items and she said hi and asked if she could help with finding anything. I paid for my items, filled up my tank and left. It was a Saturday late afternoon so I was the only person there. Overall it was fine, as I said it's a gas station so giving it 5 or even 4 stars would require a lot.

I was working in the historic village of Pawtuxet, so I had two general options: either snacks from an old gas station, or lunch from an upscale bar or cafe. Limited time and money meant the first option. So, I settled on this Gulf gas station, with its very small convenience store, in downtown Pawtuxet. This is a place that time forgot. It was like I entered a time machine set to 1974 when I walked in. The place had an old, stale smell, that not even the Dunkin' Donuts Express inside could mask ... not that this Dunkin' was very busy. The young woman at the Dunkin' counter was like the female version of the Maytag repairman from the '70s commercials, with nothing to do, standing with her hands resting on the counter. There were no pre-made sandwiches in the convenience store (and I hate Dunkin's sandwiches), so I had to settle for peanut butter crackers and Little Debbie cinnamon swirls for my 'lunch'. This was not exactly the kind of 'power lunch' for when you have to remove a lot of cast iron from an old house, but hey, I had no choice. The selection of drinks and snacks is very limited here. Also, my coworker asked me to get him a candy bar here. When he ate it, he reported it was a bit stale. A sign on the front door states there are no public bathrooms at this store, period. I counted six gas pumps, and the price for regular unleaded seemed high. The parking lot is about as small as the store. Unless you live in the neighborhood and it's an easy walk here for lottery tickets and smokes, there's probably no reason to come here ... unless you like that '70s feel.

It's total nostalgia for an era that even my parents are too young for, and the theming is great. Everything feels so tastefully old! They have little cabinets with local curios so it almost doubles as a free museum. There's penny candy and I even bought this adorable Warren baseball hat on my last visit. If you're going, you of course have the get a coffee cabinet. Technically a coffee cabinet is made with ice cream and coffee syrup and it tastes true to form. Real iced cream beverage connoisseurs will know what I'm talking about. When you get your cabinet be aware that they're quite heavy!! It's not a light treat. But you will enjoy it, as my family has been for generations!

Being a smaller store the variety can be limited, but that is not why I am reviewing. It's about the staff. Last week I fell, not in the store or on their property, I got some pretty gnarly abrasions and a bit of a cut and needed to ice my knee down quickly. WF has ice in the front, so I went there and grabbed a small hot bar (yum yum!), I sat at the tables outside, which are a great place to eat the ready made hot foods, in particular the chicken in sweet chili sauce. I digress, within a few minutes a sweet young man stopped and asked if I was okay, I told him what happened and assured him I didn't fall at WF. He went back to work, a few minutes later another staff came out with a roll of paper towels and asked if she could do anything for me, I thanked her and said I was fine. Not more than a few minutes later another employee came out to check on me. Yes some foods are expensive, yes, it can be busy there but the bottom line, this is neighborhood, this is community and this is the human experience. Thumbs up Whole Foods Waterman!

Joke's on you- they do not work. It's just patron after patron stuck trying to figure out this unnecessarily complicated interface while the person behind the counter who normally would just verbally take your order and hand you your meds, stands there helplessly 2 feet away trying to help you through this new nightmare experience you are both in. I can only assume the head of CVS's IT department is in some elaborate fight to sabotage the head of Pharmacy and the rest of us are just collateral damage. For a company closing a ton of stores to "optimize their retail footprint", this is not the answer. I have thus far tried twice to pick up my prescription and been thwarted both times by a short line that does not move because no one can figure out this dumb kiosk. And I don't think the pharmacists can bypass it? Whose idea was this?! Did no one test this thing before unleashing it on the masses? Feels like something designed by someone who has never been to a pharmacy before. Unfortunate. I now need to find a pharmacy without this horrible feature. Wish me luck...
