If you're heading west on Route 6, this is the last gas station/convenience store before you hit…read moreConnecticut. I often ride my motorcycle to Connecticut, since Rhode Island is so small and the condition of the roads pales in comparison to Connecticut. I've stopped here for drinks and gas either on my way out, or on my way home. They have Mobil gasoline, plus separate diesel and kerosene pumps on the left side of the store. There a decent selection of drinks and snacks, and the store seems pretty clean, well-stocked and well-organized. While there is a customer bathroom, it is actually a porta-potti outdoors, behind the building, so it's like roughing it for people who might be more sensitive to those sort of things (although it beats going in the woods). Be careful pulling out (especially if you're on a motorcycle), since it's at the top of a hill, cars travel pretty fast and you can only see so far out before a car pops over the crest of the hill. One time a few years ago - I will never forget - I was coming back from a motorcycle ride in Connecticut, where I had gotten caught in heavy rain. It was either dusk or dark, but anyway, I went inside to prepay for my gas. There was a customer ahead of me, but the cashier was extremely chatty with this customer, so much so that a puddle of water formed on the floor beneath me while I waited.

Brought it back to the owner (father) I explained it to him only to have him tell me he would not allow me to exchange it for another one. His words were " listen brother as far as I know your lying to me and you dropped it. So I won't exchange it". I can't convey the venomous tone he used with me. So for $3 milk he destroyed upwards of 1k a year of me spending money at his store. What a miserable FOOL this guy is. Great job Chump.

I drive by here on Saturdays that I work, but normally, I pass them up and stop at the Cumberland Farms on Killingly Street to reward myself with a 16-oz. Red Bull. Last Saturday, however, I decided to get my Red Bull here instead, after seeing nobody had Yelped them yet. Pick 'N' Pay occupies the left-end unit of a partially-vacant strip plaza, and has four gas pumps. Their gas prices were pretty decent, actually. Some of their clientele in the parking lot did appear a bit sketchy, however. Inside, it's just a typical independent convenience store, with a small area - furnished with a small folding table, keno display, and an instant lottery ticket vending machine - off to the side for diehard lottery players. And speaking of hardcore gamblers, I had to wait for what seemed like forever for the customer in front of me to go through a handful of lottery tickets at the cash register, when I just wanted to hit the road and enjoy my hard-earned Red Bull, damnit! Other than all the smoking crap on display (which I couldn't care less about) the store is unremarkable, except for the fact they sell boxes of cereal - any brand, any size - for $2.99, which is better than most regular supermarket prices. So, if you live nearby and get a sudden cereal craving, this is your place. Although I didn't need to use the bathroom, being a good Yelp reporter, I just had to ask the guy behind the cash register if they had a public bathroom. In retrospect, I wish I hadn't asked. "Ahh, Brother ..." the man said in an undetermined foreign accent. "It's not too clean ...." He didn't say whether I could use their bathroom or not, but I inferred he was trying to discourage me. He didn't really have to discourage me from using their bathroom, because the fact that he called me "Brother" three times during the simple transaction of buying a Red Bull kind of creeped me out anyway.
