Great local grocery store! -very tasty and fresh prepared foods, I have a habit of getting a slice of pizza every time I do a grocery run. Love the spicy white! -great selection of products, especially for a local store -prices are a bit higher since it is not a large grocery brand -super friendly staff -there are regularly discount items on super sale that can be excellent finds! These items are usually at the end of the isle toward the cash registers or in clearly labeled carts around the store -parking lot can be very busy and hard to get out of. Shopping for snacks and drinks, I had a pleasant experience at Dave's Marketplace. This is a nicer supermarket than many with wide aisles and well stocked shelves. They had a good variety of many items and I found what I needed easily. Big, bright produce section. Lots in the seafood area, which I would expect for a coastal city in Rhode Island. Dairy and cheese in cold fridges all well stocked. Dry goods aisle was nicely leveled and stocked. Prices were a bit higher but it is a much more pleasant shopping experience. They also have a lot of fresh and prepared foods. The young lady who rang up my purchase was friendly and pleased to help me. I'm truly Dave's fan. I can go in while on a lunch break or just too tired to cook dinner and they got food ready to eat and or heat up. Another Daves with another parking lot that you are not sure how to navigate-really, they have the worst parking lots. I always suggest entering and exiting from Warwick Ave-much easier. At really busy times there is sometimes a police detail. Not my favorite of the Daves Franchise. read more

Spent $50 on prepared salmon and stuffy's for company. I got home and heated up the salmon and it smelled like low tide at Scarborough Beach. Tasted worse. The stuffy were also tasteless. I went to the store, hoping to get a refund with receipt and they wouldn't refund my money without the salmon back which I had thrown in the garbage where it belongs.neither of the manager is a miserable person and shouldn't be in customer service and I'm never going there again. read more

I am a regular customer at Dave's at Hoxie Four Corners. I purchase Dave's prepared salads a few times a week. The salads are good but I can't figure out why they don't take the time to remove the iceberg lettuce core before preparing the salad. Today I have to check into the hospital by 8 p.m. for a procedure so I felt like having something that I shouldn't be eating because of the batter. I ordered fish & chips at 2:10 the woman told me 20 minutes so I proceeded to the store I went to the food department and I ordered a couple of chicken tenders the sticker said 2:27 so I was a few minutes early so the guy told me he would check on them I know a time is never exact he came back out and said not quite don't I said that's fine I shopped in the store came back 10 minutes later he checked again and said just a few more minutes I said OK I stood there in front of the sushi counter out of the way waiting at 2:58 I asked another associate to check for me she came back out and told me 10 more minutes I said are you kidding me because now its coming up on 50 minutes I said tell them I don't want them and walked away. LET ME SUGGEST PIONEER PIZZA FOR FISH & CHIPS YOU WONT BE DISSAPOINTED. I go there 4 days a week to get lunch and do some shopping but now I'm changing my routine. read more

I love this store. It's convenient located and has a huge parking lot that allows you get in and out quickly. I find myself doing more and more of my grocery shopping here. It's a small store compared to the giants but they manage to fit a lot of stuff in the space. The product is great, always fresh and they seem to have pretty much what I need. Sure they don't have the huge exotic selection that larger stores have but they have the basics and what they do have is always good. The diary is also well stocked with everything you could need and some items that larger stores won't have. For some reason this store seems to specialize in great frozen treats. I'm always finding some new dessert to pack pounds on my butt. They also have some great bake goods to add some extra pounds and freshly made grinders for went I'm in a hurry. The people that work there are always friendly and actually seem to enjoy their jobs. Not the biggest store but I have found if I'm a bit flexible I really don't need to go to any other grocery. read more

The staff are great at this Dave's-especially my cashier, Jacob (I think) who was late high school or college age. He was really polite, noticed that my lettuce was open and then ran back to get me a new one. The patrons seem to be respectful too. This store is my least favorite in the Dave's Marketplace enterprise. If the other Dave's stores are pressed,buttoned up and tucked in, this one always strikes me as the one in the bunch that has its wrinkled shirt tails dangling. I don't do my household staple shopping at Dave's market...I shop here for the deli specials, produce and prepared foods. For a change, I headed over to the Airport Road store to pick up a pizza the other night. A large rustic cheese pizza that feeds a hungry fam of five for less than ten bucks? Yup. Sometimes it's a must - and it's tasty. I called ahead knowing that (with traffic) it would take me 20 minutes to get across town to pick it up. Unfortunately, the pizza never made it into the oven. With apologies, I was told it would be 15-20. Oh well...might as well pick up my deli meat for the week. I don't know how to describe the deli/prepared food area here...it's disheveled. Half-full platters of chicken cutlets, stray grilled veggies hangin' out underneath the dish, and the rotisserie chix salad was looking brown and lonely. A quick stir, some smaller dishes and a quick clean-up would have solved these minor issues. Instead, the prepared food folks near the pizza ovens were hanging out with their alt rock music blaring. Blasting. Turn down the music a tad, keep things tidy and at least look busy. By the time my number was called for my deli slices, I had taken full stock of the deli ends thrown on the counter in front of the other wrapped meats. I have no idea where the ends "end" up...but I would like a little mystery with my meat. Especially when it's uncovered, dried out and co-mingling. Produce here looked great and well organized. Staff at Dave's Markets is almost always friendly and courteous - and found the same here. I wish I could give a half star just for friendly service but I just can't bring myself to round up. I just will probably not be heading down here to this store real soon to do my Dave's shopping list with two other spotless locations about the same distance from my home. read more

Been shopping at Dave's for well over forty years and have to say after Friday Christmas Eve day I probably won't be back. Went for Christmas Eve and Christmas day meals, bought Prime Rib roast $75, Cod, shrimp, snails and stuffies about $70 and a little over a pound of Lobster at $70. All of a sudden a man in a suit came over to fish counter and took my lobster saying he had to bring it up front and I could pick it up there. I said no I wanted to keep it with me, with Covid in full bloom I didn't want people handling my food for no reason. He told my wife because of the cost he had to bring it up front. Now, keep in mind i had another $70 of fish and $75 of rib roast plus another $50-60 of food in front of him in my basket. When we went to check out my wife told him how stupid his actions were he he brought over my lobster. I told him, not knowing where it had been or who had touched it, with Covid in mind, I did not want it. I told him I would just go to Market Basket, where I would not be treated like a thief. Never, have been treated like I was a dirty crook before and Dave's won't have the chance to do it again. AFTER MORE THAN 40 years of loyalty... NO MORE. read more

Being single, its easy to have a full course meal, that's nutritious and well-balanced without having to cook and clean up after. The prices are right for the selection they have. I would recommend Dave's market place to everyone. They do not carry all brands like the big markets but have enough to satisfy all my needs. I thought Seven Stars was the best in the state...Had the best croissant of my life today, from Dave's awesome bakery. Let me rave about Dave's for a minute. Fresh, varied produce. Local foods, amazing prepared food (chicken parm is restaurant quality at half the price), good deli and meat department. Holy Cheeses!, such a good variety. Amazing bakery! Big selection of breads and rolls, often still warm out of the oven. Nice selection of sweets too. Oh, and FREE COFFEE!! Service has never been less than friendly. Only drawback is the slightly cramped-ness, but it's worth it in the end. If it weren't for the gas discount I would abandon Stop and Shop completely, and only shop at Dave's. read more

The day before Blizzard Juno hit was a Monday. I was shopping with my husband in the bread section about to grab baguette when I ran into Karen, a Dave's employee and Baker who went above and beyond! She offered me a Fresh Baguette that just came out of the oven! Still warm, that she just made herself! So I asked her some questions I'd been wondering about for a long time about their baked goods. It turns out the Dave's in Warwick has an onsite production facility where they make all their baked goods DAILY. Having this kind of set up allows them to respond very quickly to the ebbs and flows of demand. I really appreciate Karen taking the time to offer us that bread and answering my questions. This store is a smaller, compressed version of Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and Wegmans. If the three of them got together and had an orgy, Dave's Marketplace is what would have been conceived. OMG, awesome selection of gourmet ice creams, frozen yogurts and regular, refrigerated yogurts. There was a line of ice cream that looked delectable! It said it was "Mexican style" ice cream (whatever that is) , but the Mexican Chocolate sounded reallllllly good. I ended up buying a smaller container of locally produced ice cream in Coffee, but thought long and hard about buying the Maine Wild Blueberry fro yo. There was an awesome selection of yogurts. I got 5 different ones for each day this week! Come to think of it, they had an interesting variety of soy butters, almond butters, and peanut butters, too! They've also got a wonderful variety of fresh pre-made meals that you can pop into an oven or a microwave. There's even a wing bar, a hot food case, a variety of fresh made pizzas, and a great looking deli. I noticed that their prices on some items were much higher than what I'd find back home. For example, one particular energy bar is $1.25 at Trader Joe's and Wegmans. At Dave's, it was $1.69. One thing I saw was almost .75 more. On the flip side, their sale prices are a steal!!! Fage yogurt was on sale at $1.67! Milk was on sale, yogurt was on sale, water was on sale--a ton of stuff was on sale. This particular location is close to the airport, off of Airport Road and Warwick Ave. They've even got their own parking lot! read more

If you're looking for fresh groceries and polite service, Dave's is yourplace. Unlike Shaw's or Stop n Shop, the place is not dirty, does not smell like rotting whatever, and is not staffed by obnoxious teens who treat you like a distraction from the agenda of socializing with the other cashiers. Prices are a little bit higher than the aforementioned "dirty" stores, but SO worth it. They have a decent selection of organic and/or "crunchy" foods, but it doesn't dominate the store and it doesn't have that ever-so-slightly -snobbish feel of Whole Foods. Its just a good, clean, pleasant place to shop for food. If you're looking to save $2 on your shopping bill for the week, this is probably not the place. But, if you're looking for a place to shop for food that doesn't makre you lose your appetite, you are a potential Dave's customer. read more

I started shopping at this location a couple years ago after repeated bad experiences with service at a larger chain supermarket that's close by. Honestly, I don't know why I waited so long. It's obviously smaller than other supermarkets, but they have everything I need and the prices are comparable. An added bonus is they hire and train some of the nicest, most helpful staff. Love, love, LOVE this Daves market place. It's clean, the only reason I take off a star is because the parking lot is tough to navigate and I wish there was a little more variety in organic, vegan options. I can usually find what I need across the store, but I wish there were more salad dressings, cleaning products, and frozen items offered from vegan/organic/environmentally-friendly companies, such as Mrs Myers and Amy's. But other than that, the store is clean, spacious, and the staff overall efficient. Some are less friendly and quiet than others, but no one has ever been rude, and sometimes it's nice to just complete the transaction of buying groceries without a bunch of small talk. Prices are competitive, and to be honest the extra money spent on fresh produce is always worth it, because they have always have top-shelf produce. read more

I went in one day to shop for cake ingredients, including cocoa powder. I was looking for it and couldn't find it, so I asked the manager. He traded me off to some cart-pusher, who took me down a random isle and pointed at a box of bran cereal, and walked off. Needless to say, I lulzed. Hard. I eventually found it on my own, but it was just funny because the manager wasn't busy at all and didn't know where his own products were placed. Thanks, d00d! Nice market though. I shop at this Dave's a couple times each month and every time I walk into the produce section I am in awe! (I "normally" shop at Shaws and their produce section is the exact opposite of Dave's!) Upon entering the store, the first thing I notice when I pull out a mini carriage (which I love) is how clean it always is! When I enter the produce section, I always take a moment and scan the entire department. WOW! Everything is FRESH, FRESH, FRESH! It's also full, extremely organized and gorgeous! The Apples are in rows! The green veggies are beautiful shades of green and the floor is clean! The meat department is always stocked and every time I'm shopping in the meat dept there's someone keeping it stocked. They are always happy to cut a roast or whatever you need. The staff is always very friendly. Another plus, they have the most delicious free coffee!! Not because it's free, it REALLY IS DELICIOUS! It's their own blend and they sell it too. I always drink some while I'm there and grab a bag to go. They always keep the coffee stocked, hot & fresh! If it runs out, don't worry, they'll brew more in just a couple minutes. They're always on it! The bottom line is, Dave's is a well stocked, very clean, organized supermarket with a friendly staff. Couldn't ask for more than that! read more

Dave's is a popular spot to shop in a great location with little else nearby that isn't a large supermarket. Fresh produce, a deli, hot bar with meats and soups and fresh seafood make it far more than just a normal market. They have quite a large variety and plenty of local products as well. Dave's is where I prefer to do my grocery shopping. The fruit and veg selection is always fresh and the meat and poultry are varied and reasonably priced. I live in Providence but am more than happy to drive to the Warwick or Smithfield Dave's for my weekly shopping. The butcher is always happy to process my beef tenderloin selection into filets and on my recent visit the deli staff was attentive to the slicing and wrapping of my Italian cold cuts for a holiday antipasto platter, going so far as to open a new slab of meat. When I arrived at the checkout and was met with a long line of carriages, the customer service attendant was all too happy to open up a new checkout line and ring my order. read more
