I recently had a disturbing and infuriating experience at this Cumberland Farms location. I went in to purchase two Gatorlite drinks, advertised as 2 for $5, but they rang up as $5.50. With tax, the total came to $5.94. When I pointed out that the sales tax should be $0.40, not $0.94, I was met with disbelief and outright hostility. The employees insisted that the $0.94 was the correct tax, despite it clearly being an error in their system. Instead of addressing the issue, the two employees--both of whom were of a different race than I am--ganged up on me. Their behavior quickly escalated from rude to what felt like a racially motivated attack. They repeatedly insisted "it's the tax," in a mocking tone, refusing to listen to any explanation. I was laughed at, ridiculed, and made to feel as though my concerns were invalid simply because of who I am. It felt like I was being singled out and demeaned based on my race. Eventually, they asked if I even wanted the drinks, making it clear they had no interest in resolving the situation or treating me with basic respect. What's even more concerning is that they claimed every customer is told "that's the tax" and no one ever complains. If that's true, then Cumberland Farms is potentially collecting illegal sales tax on thousands of transactions per day. Now that this review is public, if Cumberland Farms doesn't address this issue with these employees, they could be guilty of negligence and should be fined. I hope New York State gets their $0.94 tax on this transaction, which I doubt will happen under these circumstances. For reference, my receipt number is 221-2080, in case Cumberland Farms wants to do their due diligence and investigate. This was, without a doubt, the worst customer service experience I've ever had, and the fact that it appeared to be racially motivated makes it all the more unacceptable. Unbelievable that this is what customer service has come to today. I would recommend screening and better training of employee's zero stars if I could. I have been a customer for more than 7 years. I filled gas at 211 Troy Schenectady RD, and needed to use the restroom. The two girls at the counter said that the restroom key was with a lady who was using the ladies' restroom. I told them to give me the men's restroom they said they have only one key!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I told them I can't wait, I will pee in my pant, so they started laughing while I was suffering. I am a 75 year old diabetic person but they didn't respect my age, they were laughing. This happened today at 4:10 pm. Those employees must be fired, and the person who is responsible for training new employees must do a better job preparing the employees to deal respectfully with customers. This is a pretty great store. Granted, I am not familiar with a lot of Cumberland Farms locations but I needed a couple of items (whipped cream in a can; bagged ice) and thought I would try here first as I was driving by. Well, they had both and their prices were fine. While waiting in line, I noticed a large bakery and beverage/coffee section. I didn't have time to explore but this places seems much cleaner and nicer than the Stewarts Shops I have been in. If they really bake stuff on premises that would be pretty cool. The staff were friendly, though a bit disinterested and never offered to put anything in bags for me. So, I left carrying my ice and whipped cream in hand. read more

Who ever is working tonight at this store has piss pour customer service. He shouldn't be working if he's not greeting customers with respect. Extremely rude when you can't even say have a good evening or hello when u walk in the door. Please get better help as I already know it's hard to find any help let along good help these day. I love that their coffee is only .99 any size. That's an amazing deal for a huge cup of coffee. In the summer I get iced coffee (.99), iced tea (.99), and my kids get a slurpee (.89). This location has a bunch of slurpee flavors to choose from so my kids always want to go to this one. This is a relatively new store so it's big and clean. read more

DO NOT BUY GAS HERE... great coffee and lots of good food choices available...all at reasonable prices. yet this CF location rips off the neighboring community with their inflated gas prices. ALWAYS THE HIGHEST PRICE IN LATHAM...and i have watched their pump price change THREE TIMES IN A SINGLE DAY. i understand marketing and market conditions...but i NEVER buy my gas this location 'cause on my 7 mile commute to work i pass stations with prices as much as 15 cents a gallon less. The staff here are extremely friendly. Once, I asked to have my doughnut heated up, expecting that they would put it in the microwave. Instead, they put it in the oven! An oven-fresh doughnut on the way to work is heavenly! During another visit, an employee remembered that I had the flu when I stopped in the week before, and asked me if I was feeling better. On top of the nice staff, I have to say the baked goods taste fresher than Stewart's (and I love Stewart's). read more

I love this store, I have now switched to getting my ice coffee from Dunkin Doughnuts to this store, and I am picky when it comes to ice coffee. I love the staff they are very nice, even at 530 am. Clean fun, good food, the music is a tad loud, but that's ok other than that I am very glad they have moved in. Keep up the good work, my husband loves the pizza. read more
