The EZ Mart is a large store, conveniently open 24 hours, with all the normal stuff and more. They have a large variety of chips, crackers, snacks, candy, soda, drinks, ice cream, italian ice, newspapers, the Lottery, and a large variety of even household items ranging from paper towels to laundry detergent, and even dog food. The store is quite large and is vast in comparison to other places. The guy working was nice and the store is dead frequently (being that there is at least five other convenience stores within this section of Washington Street). Definitely a good option for any "convenience store" sort of item for 4 stars.

Then I turned around and saw this place and went in. The prices are competitive. The people were super friendly - They greeted me; they offered to help me find some thing; and they thanked me for my business. The staff were so kind and even took our order before the deli officially opened, which was such a nice touch. Even though it was busy with families stopping in, kids riding up on bikes, and people grabbing items on their way to work, everything ran smoothly and felt welcoming. On those rare stops, the gentleman behind the counter has always been pleasant, greeting me with a smile. Today I zipped in, and the woman working was the opposite. For example, she would not accept the two-dollar bill I gave her (after holding it up to light in what appeared to be an attempt to see if it were counterfeit) as part of my payment. When I asked why, she said because no one wants it as their change and so she'll have to go back to the bank, so just give her two other dollars. I like the idea of convenience stores being convenient for me more so than being convenient for them. So, even though they are super-close, I'd rather go out of my way to give my money to someone who at least pretends they appreciate my business.
